When enquiring about boarding, it helps to share your pet's size, breed, and temperament upfront, as these factors affect suitability and space allocation. Bring along your pet's vaccination records — most reputable boarding facilities require proof of up-to-date immunisations before accepting a booking. It is worth arranging a trial visit beforehand so your pet can acclimatise to the environment and staff, and so you can assess how your animal responds. If you require a recurring boarding schedule — for example, during regular travel — discuss this early to confirm availability and whether a preferred slot can be reserved.
To take the next step, reach out to The Animal Retreat Pte Ltd via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to share your pet's details and intended boarding dates. Confirm the vaccination requirements, facility rules, and rates in writing before drop-off. Listing data is incomplete — contact The Animal Retreat Pte Ltd directly to confirm details.

The Animal Retreat is more than just a daycare or boarding for our (late) dog Macho and us as his owners. TAR feels more like a group of family friend who genuinely care about dogs. TAR was Macho’s happy place during his lifetime. Joelyn, Andi, Chermaine, Uncle Kelvin and the rest of TAR team share their care and love to all the doggies. They are kind team who knows how to handle dogs with different personalities and characters. They dont just accept all dogs for daycare or boarding. They carefully introduce one dog at a time, carefully monitor their interactions. They do proper assessments to see if TAR would be suitable in caring for your furkid. We sent Macho for daycare and boarding for the last 3 years and not once we had any issues with TAR. Their communication is very swift, if there are any concerns regarding our dog, they will immediately inform us. They also provided us with daycare report upon completion to see how our dog was doing throughout the time. They have schedule for daycare: morning walk, play, enrichment activities, nap time, home time. Every so often they also have thematic activities (such as: Halloween, prom, movie day, etc). Macho was always coming home from daycare tired, healthy and happy. All in all, We trust the team at TAR. Unfortunately our frenchie passed away, but if we ever have another dog in the future, we wont hesitate to send him/her to TAR again! Thank you TAR team for everything 💙
Amazing care by the TAR team for my 8mo pup. Daycare team provide periodic updates via a telegram channel - you can expect pictures/videos and even poop updates throughout the day. They will even help to feed your pup’s packed lunch at your preferred timing. Morning group walks are the cutest too! I’ve sent my pup to another doggy daycare before and I must say I really do like the system here at TAR mainly cos of the updates I get. It puts my mind at ease knowing he’s playing well and being well taken care of at TAR. Oh, not forgetting there is a dedicated nap time at daycare here again TAR too. Gotta love this 100%. 😅
As Aspen’s pawrent, I truly cannot recommend The Animal Retreat Singapore enough. Aspen attends daycare twice a week and boards there whenever we are away from Singapore, and it gives us complete peace of mind knowing she is in such loving and responsible hands. First and foremost, we were not asked or prompted to write this review on Google. We are sharing this purely out of appreciation and gratitude for the team and the standards they uphold. The daycare is run by a genuine team of dog lovers — Jolene, Andy, Chermaine, Uncle Kevin and the rest of the staff — and it truly shows in the way they care for every pup. Safety is clearly their top priority. Beyond having proper fencing installed, the team is extremely strict about entry and exit procedures. They always ensure owners close the fence properly before leaving, the baby gate nearest to the main entrance is secured at all times, and they are very careful not to let other dogs slip out during pick-up. That level of attentiveness genuinely reassures us. We also deeply appreciate their proactive communication. We receive frequent photo updates via Telegram throughout the day, and they notify us immediately if anything seems off — whether it’s Aspen’s poop condition, appetite, or general behaviour. That transparency means so much to us as pet parents. Their daily structure is thoughtfully planned: morning walks, play time, nap time, and enrichment activities. By the end of each day, we receive a report card summarising Aspen’s activities, which we absolutely love reading. It’s clear she isn’t just being “looked after” — she is being engaged, stimulated, and cared for. The best validation? Aspen’s body language. She gets excited when it’s daycare day and always comes home happy, relaxed, and satisfied. That tells us everything we need to know. Thank you to the entire team at The Animal Retreat for loving Aspen like your own!
I live just opposite and was watching out my window when I saw this happen. One of the staff members (female) opened the main door for a customer, and two French Bulldogs immediately dashed out onto the road. I can only assume the internal dog gate was not properly secured or checked beforehand. As staff at a dog hotel/daycare, the first instinct should be to immediately rescue the dogs by any means possible. Instead, I watched the staff member stand frozen and silent, making no attempt to act. In contrast, the customer—while still holding his own dog—ran into the middle of the road to stop oncoming traffic. That is the kind of reaction one would expect from an animal caretaker. Although he managed to stop the cars momentarily, it was too late. I witnessed cars hit the dogs. By then, I saw another staff member dash out to help, and the dogs got off the road The staff member who initially opened the door appeared very young, approximately 15–17 years old with no glasses. This raises serious concerns about staff screening, training, and suitability for a role that involves the care of living beings. While she may have been new, this does not excuse a complete lack of response in an emergency situation. This incident could have ended far worse. I cannot imagine what would have happened if no other staff or customers had been present—would the dogs have been left on the road to become roadkill while she remained helpless? Even some screams would have attracted some help nearby somehow. What is even more disappointing is that, based on what i have seen on their social media stories after this incident, this staff member still appears to be employed. This reflects poorly on the business’s accountability and operational standards. Are you understaffed? Overcapacity? Are mistakes of this severity considered acceptable? The business also appears to be aware of this incident, as I have since noticed additional fencing being installed. While preventive measures are important, this raises a larger concern: are you continuously applying surface-level fixes instead of addressing the root problems—namely staff screening, training, and emergency response capability? According to their social media, they also conduct pack walks and swimming activities. These environments come with even higher risks. If a dog were to panic, run off, or even drown, how would that staff respond? Would there be decisive action, or would the staff freeze again while waiting for someone else to intervene? What would be the solution then? This review is not written to flame the business, but to urge you to seriously re-evaluate your hiring, training, and emergency protocols. When a business is responsible for lives, mistakes like this must be treated with the utmost seriousness. To the staff member involved: I hope you reflect honestly on whether you did your best in that moment and whether you are suitable for this role.
TAR really stands apart for their attention to each dog who spends time with them, be it for daycare or for staying, and even day trips. You can rest assured that they have the well being of each dog tailored to a tee and your dog would be in a place that is nurturing and attentive!

Most boarding facilities in Singapore require dogs to be current on core vaccinations, typically the DHPP combination (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) as well as a rabies vaccination. For cats, the FVRCP vaccine (covering feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia) is standard. Bordetella — sometimes called the kennel cough vaccine — is frequently required for dogs staying in boarding or daycare environments due to the close proximity of animals. Vaccinations are generally expected to have been administered within the preceding 12 months. Bring your pet's vaccination certificate or veterinary records to drop-off. Contact The Animal Retreat Pte Ltd directly to confirm their specific vaccination policy before booking.
Pet boarding facilities in Singapore are required to hold a licence issued by the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS), the national authority that regulates animal-related businesses. The Animal Retreat Pte Ltd does not currently list an AVS licence in its KakiList profile, so prospective clients should ask the provider directly to confirm their AVS boarding licence number before making a booking. On the matter of insurance, it is worth asking whether the facility carries coverage for incidents involving injury, illness, or loss of an animal in their care. Reputable boarding providers will be able to outline their protocols clearly. Visit the facility, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance before drop-off.
