About The Brain Box

About "The Brain Box"

The Brain Box is a tuition centre operating islandwide from its base at North Bridge Centre, opposite the National Library on North Bridge Road. It holds a KakiList verified status, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. The centre carries a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 73 reviews, a moderate sample that suggests consistent satisfaction among students and parents who have left feedback.

Families typically begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the centre covers the relevant MOE, PSLE, O-Level, or A-Level syllabus, or international programmes such as IB or IGCSE. It is worth clarifying whether classes are conducted in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as this affects both pacing and price. Most tuition centres offer a trial class so that students can assess the teaching style and whether the level pitched matches their current standing before committing to a full term. Do confirm whether fees are charged per session, as a monthly package, or by term, and whether any materials fee applies separately.

To take the next step, reach out to The Brain Box via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form listed on this page. Ask about available slots for your child's level, request details on the trial class, and clarify the term commitment before signing up.

Josh joined ThinkersBox in Primary 3 with noticeable challenges in several core cognitive areas. While he was naturally strong in visual skills, he struggled more with left-brain functions such as sequencing, processing and memory for symbols and language. Over the months, ThinkersBox helped him strengthen both the “left-brain” abilities (logic, sequencing, reasoning, memory and processing) and the “right-brain” abilities (visualisation, attention control, spatial skills and observation). By balancing both hemispheres, rather than allowing him to rely too heavily on one side, ThinkersBox made his learning much smoother, more efficient and far less frustrating. These improvements show up daily in his schoolwork and overall confidence. Most importantly, we saw a happier, more assured boy who now feels capable, especially in subjects that used to overwhelm him. Unlike traditional tuition, ThinkersBox focuses on holistic cognitive development instead of academic drilling, addressing both logical and visual learning pathways that many children depend on unevenly. We are deeply grateful to ThinkersBox for understanding Josh’s cognitive profile and helping him build the foundational skills he truly needed for long-term learning success.

My girl joined when she was P3 and has completed the 6 months course. I can notice the difference in her confidence level and the ability to interpret and process information. She liked the teachers, the fun vibe in classroom and was looking forward to attend the lessons. No regrets in making the choice to bring her to Thinkersbox to develop these lifelong skills despite the long journey travelling to the centre.

My child enjoys the lessons and is always looking forward to class. The facilitators are professional. My child had focus issue. Her overall ability improved after a 6 months course. Reading skills improved significantly. I would advise parents to start the child early and not wait and hope the child will improve as they mature. :)

Both of my children attended Thinkerbox, first one in 2020 and my second one this year. The course strengthened those area of lacking towards focus, listening skills and identified individuals’ weaker motor skills as well. Strongly recommended!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "The Brain Box" charge per session?

Pricing for tuition centres in Singapore typically varies depending on whether classes are conducted one-to-one or in a group, the academic level of the student, and the subject covered. Fees may be structured per session, as a monthly package, or by school term. A separate materials or registration fee is sometimes charged at enrolment. Discount arrangements such as sibling rates or multi-subject packages are worth asking about directly. Trial classes, where offered, may be free or charged at the standard session rate. Can I try a class before committing?

Many tuition centres offer a trial class before requiring a term commitment, giving students and parents a chance to assess whether the teaching style, pace, and level are a good fit. During the trial, observe whether the tutor checks the student's existing understanding before introducing new material, and whether the student is engaged throughout. It is reasonable to ask whether the trial is conducted with the same tutor who will teach the regular class, as consistency matters. Confirm the trial fee upfront and whether it is deducted from the first month's fees should you decide to continue.

What are the tutors' credentials at "The Brain Box"?

Tutor qualifications at private tuition centres can vary considerably. Relevant credentials to ask about include a degree in the subject taught, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from NIE, or prior teaching experience in MOE schools. Familiarity with the current syllabus — including recent changes to PSLE scoring or O-Level subject content — is equally important. As this information is not publicly listed for The Brain Box at this time, we recommend asking directly about the lead tutor's academic background, years of teaching experience, and syllabus alignment before committing to a term. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
