I'm utterly disappointed with the unprofessional scam consultation by Dr Cheah at The Eye Centre (Ang Mo Kio branch). My symptom self recovered less than 24hrs without and before taking the prescribed eye drops. I visited The Eye Centre (Ang Mo Kio branch) on the night of Tuesday 14-May-2024. The day before (13-May-2024), I started experiencing SUDDEN blurriness/cloudiness (double vision, halo even with glasses or contacts on) on the right eye after an irritation. "Such symptom usually would self recover after one night rest" as I'm a contact lens wearer. That time it persisted. I'm a contact lens wearer with high astig degrees so no stranger to the terms high astigmatism and the risk of regular contact lens. After initial eyes checks by front nurse / medical assistant, I got in queue and just above an hour later attended by an elderly Doctor Cheah. The doctor failed to listen and failed to understand precursor symptom details. I had rubbed my right eye, exposed to sun. Instead, he went on assuming my right eye blurriness was due to high astig. He kept lectured me about high astig (as though it's my first time knowing it) and then about Singapore government medical news article about contact lens risk which I already knew. When I asked him whether my right eye sudden blurriness/cloudiness would recover, he answered no (implying it's PERMANENT) and kept talking about high astig that my vision got worst. The fact was the glasses I wore that night at clinic was made with lower degree on purpose cause high degree would cause nausea since my childhood time, I'm now in my 40s. Wearing contacts had allowed me to easily sprint up and down staircase regularly. And unlike many others I don't have any health issues verified by recent months checkup & full blood tests. He bragged about his many years of experiences, fixated on his stereotyping assumptions and had no interest in understanding and listening to symptom real details. I barely had the chance to explain to him more details until toward the end which he assumed migraine which I didn't have. The fact that my right eye sudden blurriness/cloudiness self recovered (15-May-2024) less than 24hrs after clinic visit showed it was a simple case of temporary eye infection which Doctor Cheah misdiagnosed. After recovery, I tried the Cravit and FML eye drops (like dryness in eyes) but experienced headache so I stopped using them. I called 64573866 many times to give feedback but no answer. I paid almost SGD$200 for a misdiagnosis and terrible consultation. I demand a full refund and will be approaching relevant authorities including MOH Ministry Of Health Singapore soon. Such doctor should retire or the clinic should consider cease business. I strongly condemn the scam consultation by Doctor Cheah of The Eye Centre (Ang Mo Kio branch). STOP SCAMMING SINGAPORE'S PUBLIC! Stop terrorizing us with scam consultation and yet robbery-like charges!

Worst experience by far visiting a clinic. Totally waste of money. Dr Cheah Way Mun is extremely arrogant, unprofessional and impatient. How can a doctor make a diagnosis without even listening to a patient? It is mind-blowing they still let him practice.

I once had one drop of chemical accidentally drip into my right eye, and eventually my parents went here. Doctor was nice and so were nurses. Check was quick and efficient and the diagnosis was accurate though the hours seem to be kinda scattered and the waiting was on the long side. Will be back this coming Monday as of this writing to check if everything is good though they also may wanna check my left cornea as I fear I may have accidentally damaged it with my own finger. Hopefully all will be fine. But I digress. This centre is really promising in terms of professionalism. I know you have to take breaks but the hours seem to be all over the place. Other than that, kudos guys. And do try to hire at least one more professional eye doctor since waiting times can be long.

Read some not so nice remarks about this eye clinic, it is not true at all. Dr Cheah is a very nice old specialist, counter staff are nice too. Do note they are real busy.

23/5 It was a terrible experience with Dr Cheah W M.He seriously need to brush up on his interaction and communication skills with his patients.He does not listen,arrogant, and impatient!!! Simple explanation to your customers about their eye condition is very important,, and he didn't do it either. I waited for many hours and paid expensive fees for my son's treatment. Whereas for you, doctor, is it so difficult to be kind and friendly. 26/5Requested to change doctor for the next follow up and WHAT A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE it made!!!Even my 5 yrs old son commented that "this doctor is very nice"Dr James is so kind ,and his explanation was simple and concise .He doesn't only communicate well but listens carefully.He is a fantastic doctor who treats his patients with kindness.Thank you Dr James for putting a smile on our faces.
