About The Humanities Clinic

About "The Humanities Clinic"

The Humanities Clinic is a private tuition provider operating islandwide from its centre at 66 East Coast Road, Singapore 428778. It is KakiList verified and ACRA registered, and holds a perfect 5-out-of-5 rating across 84 Google reviews — a moderate sample size that lends reasonable confidence to the score. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or package figures are not publicly listed.

Families typically begin by reaching out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to confirm whether the provider teaches the relevant level and syllabus — be it the MOE secondary humanities stream, IGCSE, IB, or another curriculum. It is worth clarifying upfront whether sessions are conducted one-to-one or in small groups, and whether tuition takes place at the East Coast Road centre or online. Asking about term commitment length and the availability of a trial class before signing up for a full term will help families assess teaching style and subject-level fit before making a financial commitment.

The most practical next step is to send a WhatsApp message or submit the enquiry form stating your child's current level, the specific humanities subject required (for example, History, Geography, Literature, or Social Studies), and your preferred session days — so The Humanities Clinic can confirm availability and provide a fee breakdown.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Ms Teo for her dedication and guidance in helping my son achieve As in both H2 History and General Paper in the A-Level exams. Ms Teo teaches him to think critically, structure his arguments and write with clarity and precision. Her materials are up-to-date and well-curated. More importantly, she is very attentive to student’s progress. She ensures they keep pace with school, identifies areas for improvement early and prepares them thoroughly for tests and examinations. For General Paper, Ms Teo’s lessons were equally impactful. Her lessons are structured, engaging, and focused on building both content knowledge and writing skills. There is very regular practice on Paper 1 essays and Paper 2 comprehension. This consistency helped my son improve steadily over time. Despite her busy schedule, Ms. Teo is always responsive to students’ questions and is willing to go the extra mile, especially in the lead-up to major exams. She creates a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help. I am deeply thankful for the impact she has had on my son’s learning journey. I would highly recommend Ms Teo to any student looking to excel in H2 History and General Paper.

Miss Teo was truly a lifesaver during my A-Level journey. She guided me clearly through the new History syllabus, breaking down complex topics and exam requirements in a way that was easy to understand and apply. Her notes were extremely high quality — concise, well-structured, and tailored exactly to what examiners look out for. The model answers she provided were especially helpful in showing me how to structure my essays and develop strong evaluation. Most importantly, she helped turn a very lost and uncertain student into someone who eventually attained an A. I’m genuinely grateful for her patience, clarity, and dedication. I would highly recommend her if you are looking to improve your History grades.

I have been with The Humanities Clinic since sec 3 when I started having social studies and Geography classes with them. Now that I’ve graduated JC, and having had attended GP lessons by Ms Teo, I really recommend their classes. Ms Teo is extremely knowledgeable in current affairs and her GP lessons are always so informative and fun. Ms Tan actually taught me geo and Econs for a period of time and I also really enjoyed her lessons. If I were taking more Arts subjects, I’ll definitely join their other classes:))

The tutors here are super knowledgeable, patient and kind, and they definitely go the extra mile to ensure that you are well prepared for your exams!! They not only improved my understanding of the material, but also built my exam confidence. My grades saw a sharp improvement after seeing Ms Tan for H2 Econs and Ms Teo for GP :))

Janice is taught by 2 dedicated teachers - Ms Teo (English) & Ms Tan (History, Social Studies & Geography). Under their effective coaching and using concise easy-to-understand notes, Janice managed an A1 for English, Combined Humanities and Pure Geography respectively. Ms Teo and Ms Tan have been a strong pillar of support to Janice during the O-Levels examinations period by constantly encouraging her and even provided her complimentary extra lesson time. I absolutely recommend The Humanities Clinic to all parents if their children need that extra boost of confidence to score better in their studies!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "The Humanities Clinic" charge per session?

The Humanities Clinic has not published its per-session rates publicly, so you will need to enquire directly for an accurate quote. As a general reference, private humanities tuition in Singapore typically ranges from S$50–S$100 per hour for group sessions and S$80–S$200 per hour for one-to-one tuition, depending on the tutor's background and the academic level involved. When enquiring, ask whether the fee is charged per session or as a monthly or term package, whether a trial class carries a separate fee, and whether there are any additional costs for materials. Some providers offer sibling discounts or reduced rates for block bookings. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

It is worth asking The Humanities Clinic directly whether a trial class is available before you commit to a term. Many humanities tutors offer a single trial session at the regular session rate or at a reduced introductory fee, which gives your child a chance to experience the teaching approach without a long-term obligation. During a trial, pay attention to whether the tutor pitches the content at the right level, how well your child engages with the explanations, and whether the session style — discussion-based, essay-focused, or exam-technique-driven — suits your child's learning preferences. If the provider does not formally offer a trial, you can request a short introductory call or meeting to discuss the syllabus coverage and teaching methodology before enrolling.

What are the tutor's credentials at "The Humanities Clinic"?

The Humanities Clinic has not published detailed tutor credentials on its listing. For a humanities tuition provider, relevant qualifications to ask about include a university degree in a humanities discipline (such as History, Literature, Geography, or Social Sciences), NIE training or prior MOE teaching experience, and familiarity with the specific syllabus your child is sitting — whether that is the MOE O-Level, A-Level, IGCSE, or IB Diploma programme. Years of experience with the specific examination board and any track record of student results are also useful data points. Contact The Humanities Clinic directly via WhatsApp or the enquiry form to request this information before committing to a term.
