Families considering The Learning Board should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the centre covers MOE, PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or IGCSE syllabuses, and whether sessions are conducted in groups or on a one-to-one basis. It is worth asking about term commitment requirements and whether classes are available in-person at the Jln Masjid centre or online. The centre can be reached via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form, making it straightforward to ask these questions before any commitment is made.

A big shout-out to Teacher Clarence for his fun and efficient teaching methods. My daughter consistently scored AL3/AL2 since P5, and we decided to further strengthen her best subject by enrolling her from P6. After attending his lessons for 9 months, she achieved an AL1 in the PSLE under his guidance. There was significant improvement, especially in synthesis and transformation. My son was with the Learning Board and taught by Teacher Clarence for 2 years in Sec 3 and 4 for English. He provides good guidance to students to tackle different components of the O levels English paper by teaching them the techniques to derive the answers themselves. While such a methodology may not immediately reap results, it fosters critical thinking and personal growth in the longer term. I also appreciate Teacher Clarence goes beyond being just a tuition teacher but took the effort to know each student and their individual personalities and quirks. The high quality teaching and personalised, cosy environment gave my son much confidence in the subject.
Sayf always looked forward to the classes weekly and has done extremely well in his PSLE. Would recommend anyone looking for tuition to join the centre
It took me a while to source an English tutor when Xingyu went to secondary school. His language is weak and I don’t want to send him again to those branded tuition centres always doing exercises and teaching beyond the level, which did not help him at all. I immediately enrolled my son to learning board after a short discussion with Teacher Clarence. I like his teaching style as I strongly believe that stimulating learning interest is more important than examination focused techniques. In the past four years, my son always enjoyed Clarence’s English lessons and he told me he used many tips taught there. Gradually I enrolled him to A maths and Chemistry with teacher Eileen, who is another excellent teacher. My son scored A2 in English and A1 for both A maths and Chemistry in 2021 O level. Thanks very much Teacher Clarence and teacher Eileen.
The Learning Board is managed by Mr Clarence Tan, it specialises in teaching English at every level. It also holds small class sizes so that he can give full attention to each of the students. My nephew enjoys his time learning there, he always looks forward for his class as he loves the way Clarence teaches him by noting down important notes and also going through the questions if the student doesn't understand. After attending his classes he has became more confident!

The Learning Board's listing indicates a mid-range price tier ($$), but a specific per-session or monthly package fee has not been published. In Singapore, tuition centre fees typically range from S$30–60 per session for group classes and S$60–150 or more for one-to-one tuition, depending on the subject, level, and tutor experience. Some centres charge by the term rather than per session, which can affect the overall cost. Before committing, ask about trial class fees, whether learning materials are included, and whether sibling or package discounts apply. Contact The Learning Board directly via WhatsApp or phone for current pricing. See the full Tuition Centres cost guide for Singapore →
Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced fee or occasionally complimentary, so it is worth asking The Learning Board whether this option is available. A trial session gives your child the chance to experience the teaching style, assess whether the pace and level are appropriate, and gauge how engaged they feel in the environment. During or after the trial, consider whether the tutor explains concepts clearly, whether the class size allows sufficient attention, and whether the syllabus coverage matches your child's school curriculum. These factors often matter more than centre proximity or price alone. Contact The Learning Board via WhatsApp or the online form to enquire about trial class availability.
Tutor credentials were not provided in The Learning Board's listing. When enquiring, it is advisable to ask whether tutors hold a degree in the relevant subject, whether any have an NIE or MOE background, and how many years of teaching experience they have. For specialised syllabuses such as IB, IGCSE, or AP, it is particularly important to confirm the tutor's direct familiarity with those curricula. You may also wish to ask whether the same tutor teaches your child consistently throughout the term, as continuity can affect learning outcomes. Raise these questions directly with The Learning Board via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form before committing to a term.
