About The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd

About The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd

The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd is a general practice clinic located at 63 Chulia St, #01-02, in the heart of Singapore's CBD. It holds a 4.5/5 rating across 31 Google reviews — a moderate sample that suggests consistent patient experience, though prospective patients are encouraged to read recent reviews for context. No regulatory licences or ACRA registration have been confirmed in the listing data available, so independent verification is recommended before attending.

For a routine GP visit, patients typically walk in or call ahead to confirm waiting times. The clinic's CBD location makes it convenient for working adults seeking consultation during lunch breaks or after office hours. A standard GP consultation covers symptom assessment, diagnosis, prescription where appropriate, and referral to a specialist if the condition warrants it. Patients wishing to claim against an Integrated Shield Plan or use MediSave for chronic disease management under the CDMP should confirm the clinic's panel status and billing options by phone before attending. For planned specialist referrals, a GP letter from this clinic can open the polyclinic referral pathway to subsidised outpatient specialist care at public hospitals.

Call the clinic directly on the listed phone number to confirm current consultation hours, waiting times, and whether your condition requires an appointment or accepts walk-ins.

I came here for PCR test for departure to Hong Kong. Everyone’s here are friendly and helpful and welcome you with big smiles (despite the fact that we were wearing mask, I can feel them)! The nurse at the front desk was patient to listen to my concerns for the contents of PCR test report to meet the requirements of HK government, including the QR code. She addressed my concerns one by one and provided sufficient information to resolve my worries. She also tried her best to reach out to the manager of laboratory to look into my enquiry in relation to CT value. The process was smooth and pleasant. The location is very convenient.

The counter staffs were very professional, speaking very gently, courteously and with very good manners, they also help and assure me to try their best to help me expedite a test result.

Dr Tay is my go to GP. He is always able to make professional judgements and I really appreciate it! I’ve been to visit him for different issues over the years and he is always able to advise professionally. Even though I have now moved and the clinic is a half an hour journey, I will still make the trip to see him because I have not been able to find other GPs who are as decisive and trustworthy as him!

The management needs to train the Filipino receptionist with a flippant attitude. I do not appreciate the sarcastic tone and I do not appreciate being cut off mid sentence Absolutely ridiculous.

Visited this clinic twice as a corporate customer and no doubts that this clinic is shady. 2 main reasons: Firstly, I was initially prescribed with non-relevant medications that i mentioned multiple times that i don’t need it because i already have plenty of the same stock in my house. But the counter staff keeps INSISTING that i might need it in the future. Next, not transparent with their prices. When requested for a receipt, the counter firmly said NO, because they will send the receipt for claim directly to my employer so since I’m not paying for it, she has no incentive to give the receipt to me. She further stated “If you really want the receipt, then you need to pay now. You cannot claim anymore.” Allow me clarify, this expense will be deducted from my corporate medical expense account that has a LIMIT. So I can’t afford to splurge on random receipts because of limited budget?? Thereafter, i realised i was billed $300 for just 5days worth of antibiotics and consultation. Also another $200 on another day of visit with same prescription. Not sure if this is the market price but this is the most expensive consultation ever. So there goes all of my medical entitlement for the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd charge?

GP consultation fees at private clinics in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit, with follow-up visits often slightly lower. On top of the consultation, common add-ons include investigations such as a blood panel (S$60–200), urine test (S$15–40), swab (S$30–80), and prescriptions billed separately. GST applies on private medical services. For any planned procedure or referral, request a written breakdown of fees upfront. If you are covered by an Integrated Shield Plan, check whether this clinic is on your insurer's panel — panel GP visits may be fully or partially claimable. MediSave can be used under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) for consultations and medications related to listed conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, and asthma, subject to the S$500–700 annual withdrawal limits. Is The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence issued under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must also be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation, and any disciplinary history. No licences have been confirmed in the current listing data for The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd. Before attending, search the clinic's name on the MOH licensee directory and confirm the consulting doctor's name on the SMC register. Neither check alone is sufficient — both should return a valid result. If either search returns no result, contact MOH's Healthcare Services Regulation Division before proceeding.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life primarily cover inpatient and day-surgery costs, though some plans extend partial cover to outpatient specialist consultations — check your policy's outpatient rider before assuming coverage at a GP clinic. For GP visits, MediSave can be used under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) if you have a qualifying condition and the clinic is an approved CDMP provider, up to S$500 per year (S$700 with flexi-top-up) for outpatient treatment and medication. Confirm with The Medical Clinic Pte Ltd by phone whether they participate in CDMP, which chronic conditions they manage, and which insurance panels they are on. For any planned procedure requiring pre-authorisation, request a written financial counselling estimate from the clinic that itemises the insurer's expected payout, any MediSave deduction, and your out-of-pocket portion before paying a deposit — skipping this step is the most common reason patients are surprised by their final bill.
