Families looking to enrol should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit, whether the academy covers the relevant MOE, IGCSE, IB, or other curriculum, and whether group tuition or one-to-one sessions are available. It is worth asking about a trial class before committing to a term, as this allows both the student and parents to assess teaching style, class pace, and how well the material matches the student's current school syllabus. Prospective students should also clarify the term commitment expected, session frequency, and whether classes are conducted in-person at the Toa Payoh centre or online.
To take the next step, reach out to The Science Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form listed on their profile. Ask specifically about availability for your child's level, request details on the trial class, and confirm the fee structure and any material costs before committing.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Mr Yu is an excellent Chemistry tutor who makes learning both enjoyable and effective. His lessons are engaging and go beyond regular tuition, as he takes time to help us with school questions we struggled with. He explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand and ensures we truly grasp the underlying ideas. His encouragement and guidance have really strengthened my foundation in Chemistry and boosted my performance in class. Mr Teng’s Physics lessons are always engaging and insightful. He goes beyond standard tuition by not only teaching the syllabus thoroughly but also helping us tackle questions we didn’t understand in school. His explanations are clear and detailed, making even the toughest topics easier to grasp. Thanks to his patience and dedication, I’ve gained more confidence in Physics and developed a stronger interest in the subject.
I have been with TSA for 2 years and Mr Teo is a dedicated teacher who explains concepts to students well. Lessons are interesting as he shares his experiences and he provides feedback, both academic and non-academic, to help us with our future as we grow older. I am now more confident when doing Physics questions, highly recommended.
Mr Yu has helped me have a deeper understanding of various chemistry and biology concepts. his enthusiasm and jokes keeps classes engaging and interesting, helping me to stay focused. Even though i haven’t been with the centre for long, i have really enjoyed the lessons that i’ve had here and i can see some progress in my sciences!
mr yu has helped me understand chemistry using countless effective strategies and mnemonics that make learning a lot more enjoyable. he readily cracks jokes during lessons which makes the learning process fun and I went from hating and knowing nothing about chemistry to loving every chapter of it. I joined in 2025 as a secondary 4 student and ever since then, my grades went from E8 to B4. I'm grateful for mr yu and tsa for serving as a safe space for me to learn as well as have fun!
I have been in Mr Teng's physics class since Sec 2, and i would just like to commend his multitalented adaptability, humour, as well as his absolutely boundless patience in his willingness to explain concepts and questions however many times we may need, and even going above and beyond to link certain points of confusion to other common misconceptions that we need to take note of. On my favourite chicken rearer -- Runxing's -- life, I feel tremendously enlightened with every lesson. Some mornings I walk into the centre feeling like one of three smelly cobblers, and yet I'd leave feeling like the ancient chinese strategist Zhugeliang with the sheer amount of physics knowledge that Mr Teng has siphoned into my cranium. Moreover, with simple, logical explanations and analogies, i find abstract concepts such as electricity easy to understand and memorise. For example, I was tearing my hair out, using the long way to determine the force exerted by two wires on each other as their currents travelled into the paper, when just then, the angellic voice of Mr Teng rang out in the classroom that 'gay wires attract' and I had a revelation on the joys of electricity in that very moment. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my experience in TSA with Mr Teng as my teacher, and highly reccomend his lessons to straggling souls in need, and those of superior knowledge sinultaneously.

The Science Academy has not published its fee schedule publicly, so it is best to enquire directly for current per-session or monthly package rates. Tuition centres in Singapore typically charge on a per-session basis, as a monthly recurring package, or as a fixed term fee — and the rate generally varies by subject, academic level, and class format (group versus one-to-one). When enquiring, ask whether there is a separate fee for the trial class, whether materials or workbooks are charged additionally, and whether sibling discounts or package bundles are available. Confirming all costs upfront avoids surprises at invoicing. See the full tuition centre cost guide for Singapore →
Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced fee or at the standard per-session rate, before a student is locked into a term commitment. This is a practical way to assess whether the teaching approach suits your child's learning style, whether the class level is appropriate, and whether the pace aligns with the school curriculum. During the trial, observe whether the tutor checks for understanding, how questions are handled, and whether your child leaves the session feeling engaged rather than overwhelmed. Contact The Science Academy directly to confirm their trial class policy, any associated cost, and how soon a regular slot can be secured afterwards if you decide to proceed.
The Science Academy has not published specific tutor credentials in its listing, so parents are advised to ask directly when making an enquiry. Relevant questions include whether tutors hold a degree in the relevant subject, whether any have an NIE qualification or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been teaching at this centre. It is also worth confirming that the tutors are familiar with the specific syllabus your child is following — whether that is the MOE national curriculum, IGCSE, IB, or another framework — as alignment with the school's assessment format matters considerably for results. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
