About Thomson Medical Centre

About Thomson Medical Centre

Thomson Medical Centre is a private healthcare facility located at 339 Thomson Road, offering GP and 24-hour clinic services to patients across Singapore. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channels. The centre holds a 4.8-star rating across 4,963 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides a reliable signal of patient experience. No regulatory licences have been confirmed in the listing data, and the centre does not appear in the ACRA registry as submitted — both points are noted below.

Patients consulting at a private facility such as Thomson Medical Centre do so either by walking in directly, without a referral, at private consultation rates (typically S$120–250 for a specialist first visit, or S$25–60 for a GP visit), or via a polyclinic or GP referral letter to access a subsidised outpatient clinic at a lower fee with a longer wait. For any planned procedure, the clinic should provide a written financial counselling estimate detailing the split between Integrated Shield Plan (IP) payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins. MediSave withdrawal under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) applies to selected outpatient conditions, and MediShield Life IP coverage is subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules.

To proceed, contact Thomson Medical Centre directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to confirm the relevant department, the named doctor's SMC registration, the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence status, and current appointment availability. For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate before paying any deposit.

Fantastic maternity tour experience. Our guide, Nurse Grace, was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient with all our questions. She made everything easy to understand and helped us feel calm and confident as first-time parents. The tour felt personal and reassuring rather than overwhelming. We left feeling excited and safe about delivering here. Truly grateful for such a caring and professional guide. Highly recommend.

Thomson medical has a good reputation. After I experienced it myself with a surgery there, I totally agreed. I was push to L11 waiting outside the ops room, every assistant who pass by me was very caring and checking me out am I ok or need any help! I felt less scared. The nurses at the premier wards were friendly, cute and on the ball I would say. They often checking me out and drop by less than a minute when I needed assistant. I felt their passion with their work. Next is their food. By browsing at the menu, i am looking forward for every meal to be served. Most of the food was so yummy but I do not have much appetite but it really helps for a patient to consume some food. Btw my family encounter temperamental nurses at 2 bedded ward. I would not give such a high rating if I am under their care.

We attended the maternity tour at Thomson Medical Centre and had the pleasure of being guided by Sister Grace. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything clearly, which made the whole experience very informative for us as first-time parents. What really stood out was her cheerful and friendly personality. She made the tour enjoyable, engaging, and very reassuring, answering all our questions patiently and making us feel much more confident about the journey ahead. Thank you, Sister Grace, for such a wonderful and memorable tour!

I had a major operation at Thomson Medical Centre recently and encountered nothing but empathy, care, and compassion from the nursing team and the staff at the ward I met. 10/10 for nursing team and staff at Level 6 wards. What’s lacking in warmth in this hospital is the admin team from admin, discharge to billing. The wait at the admin counter was a little long and probably it was 6ish am in the morning, the reception staff were not too welcoming. In fact, they look like we were inconveniencing them. The scene changed once I was escorted to my room (Room 628) by another staff using the patient-only lift. The nurse who checked my vitals was so gentle and kind. Sensing that I was nervous, she had to take my blood pressure 3 times as it was too high, she kept talking to me to calm me down. After changing into the purple gown, I had a few quiet moments with my husband to explore the ward before the OT nurse arrived for verification and wheeled me down. My husband was allowed to accompany me to the lift, which was a small gesture that meant a lot. At the waiting area, Nurse Angelique was absolutely lovely. She promised me a heated blanket, which brought so much comfort. Every now and then, a nurse would pop by just to check on me, and that made me feel safe and cared for. Inside the OT, I met my anaesthetist, Dr Serene Leo. She is a gem who listened to my concerns and managed my pain so well that I was practically pain-free after the surgery. The whole OT team worked swiftly and professionally, yet they made time for small acts of kindness. One nurse put on the calf squeezers with a big smile, another helped me with the oxygen mask, and before I knew it, my surgeon was waking me up. The operation turned out to be more complex than expected, and I needed a blood transfusion. When a nurse had trouble finding my vein, she immediately called for Sister Vasantha, the “butterfly expert.” Sister Vasantha was amazing; she’s one of the highlights of my stay. She took four tubes of blood, and I barely felt a thing. She even came back the next day for another blood test, keeping her promise and once again making it painless. Throughout my stay, the nursing team was wonderful. When I got whiny about the pain, they apologised even though it was not their fault, gently reminding me that I was allowed to feel that way as a patient. I felt genuinely cared for and never once dismissed. Even the ladies who served food were cheerful and warm. Their smiles and chirpy greetings brightened my day, and I loved the red dates tea. On discharge day, Nurse Chequitita helped me with all the checkout arrangements. She was so patient and thoughtful, making sure I was completely comfortable before I left. All in all, my experience at TMC with the nurses and ward staff was filled with kindness and humanity at every step. I went in anxious but came out deeply grateful, not just for the successful operation, but for the compassion shown by every staff member I met. 1 ⭐ for the Patient Services Centre Negative experience. P/S: one big negative point with TMC is the Patient Officer team dealing with the bills and processing. That can be improved. Almost 2 weeks after discharge, they have not done the e-filing for insurance claims! When I called, the person on the phone, Ramsey, was rather dismissive and said that they will e-file it in the next few days and confirmed that it was not done yet. Which was quite appalling for my insurance agent to hear as it would be almost 2 weeks past my discharge.

Shi Jing was very patient and reassuring throughout the session. She explained things clearly, shared lots of practical tips, and made sure I understood what to do step by step. Most importantly, she took the time to adjust our positioning and guide us until my baby could latch comfortably and feeding felt comfortable for both of us. Really grateful for her support and would recommend her to any new mum needing breastfeeding help.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Thomson Medical Centre charge?

Private GP consultations in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per visit; private specialist first consultations run S$120–250, with follow-ups at S$80–180. Thomson Medical Centre's listing shows a mid-range price indicator, but exact fees depend on the department, the complexity of the consultation, and any investigations ordered on the day. Common add-on costs include blood panels (S$60–200), X-rays (S$80–150), ultrasound (S$150–400), prescriptions, and follow-up reviews. GST applies to private medical services. For any planned procedure, request a written financial counselling estimate from the clinic that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before committing. Is Thomson Medical Centre MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate clinic operating in Singapore must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory at moh.gov.sg. Every practising doctor must be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation, and any disciplinary history. No licences have been confirmed in the current listing data for Thomson Medical Centre; contact the centre directly to obtain and verify these details before booking. For surgical or specialist consultations, a Royal College or Academy of Medicine Singapore fellowship (FRCS or FAMS) is the meaningful additional credential beyond basic SMC registration. Confirm both the clinic's MOH licence and the named doctor's SMC entry — neither alone is sufficient.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Thomson Medical Centre?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For any planned procedure, confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before treatment to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit, or S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers hypertension, diabetes, lipid disorders, asthma, COPD, stroke, selected mental health conditions, and others. Separate MediSave limits of S$200–600 apply for outpatient cancer treatment, kidney dialysis, and selected scans. Request a financial counselling session at the clinic before any planned procedure. Most private facilities will issue an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket costs in writing — skipping this step is the most common cause of bill shock.
