About TutorNow

About TutorNow

TutorNow is a private tutoring provider operating islandwide across Singapore, listed at a mid-range price point ($$) and verified by KakiList. It holds a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 168 reviews, a robust sample that lends reasonable confidence to the rating. The service is based at Jurong East and covers students across the island.

When enquiring, it is worth clarifying which level and syllabus your child is studying — for instance, MOE primary or secondary, IP, IGCSE, or IB — so TutorNow can match the right tutor. You should also ask whether sessions are offered on a one-to-one or small-group basis, as this affects both pace and price. Confirm whether lessons are conducted in person at the Jurong East address, at your home, or online, and whether a trial class is available before you commit to a term. Ask about term-based packages versus per-session billing and whether there are any materials fees.

The clearest next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to share your child's level, subject requirements, and preferred schedule, then arrange a trial class to assess fit before signing up for a package.

I reached out to a few agencies, and Esther from Tutornow was the first to get back to me. She was responsive and professional, and I found that her tutors were more experienced while still offering competitive rates. We are very happy with the tutor we’re matched with. He managed the kids extremely well, even when they became distracted, and was able to gently guide them back to the lesson. His calm approach and clear explanations helped keep the children engaged and learning confidently.

No Star – Very Unprofessional Very disappointing experience with this tutor. (Wendy L) She also by passed the tuition centre to self earn our tuition fees cost $150. She was always late and did not even bother to inform. When we politely asked her to at least let us know if she would be late, she later told my children that we are “very particular”. This is completely unacceptable. Children should never be dragged into adult matters. A tutor should behave professionally and show basic respect. Instead, she complained about parents to the children, nagged frequently, and showed no sense of punctuality. When we messaged her to check on availability, she often ignored or did not respond. But when someone did not reply to her quickly, she would complain. The double standard is very clear. Overall, poor communication, no punctuality, and lack of professionalism. I would not recommend her.

First time I met such passionate tuition coordinator Esther who is fast to reply and even update me on tutor status whether good or not. She found Mr Alan for my boy who has slight focus issues. As commented by my boy after first lesson, "Mr Alan is patient and nice and he even used studying strategy like highlighting making the summary "popped" up which makes it easier for less focused children to absord. Thank you Esther!

Very rare to have tutors who can teach well and who really cares about student and wants to inspire them! Hope they continue to push Joash grades up! So far the tutors u recommend for Joash are quite good so far 1) Alice Pang 2) Wei Lao Shi 3) Calvin Thanks for the recommendation. Also want to commend Esther for her insanely fast instant response always, and her efficiency! Even though I msg her at 11pm at one time, she still replied promptly and took every task seriously and try to match tutor to profile as best as possible! Thank you! Will recommend my friends if they need tutor 🙂

Tutor Ms Aliana did really well in engaging with my son, who's usually very shy with new people. My son enjoyed the activities. He's looking forward to the weekly lessons. Thank you to Ms Esther as well for her help in finding the right tutor for my son. 😁

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does TutorNow charge per session?

TutorNow is priced at a mid-range level ($$), though the exact per-session or monthly package rate is not publicly listed. Tutoring fees in Singapore typically vary by level — primary tuition often ranges from S$30–60 per hour for group sessions and S$50–100 for one-to-one, while secondary and JC rates run higher. Some providers bill per session, others by monthly package or school term. Ask TutorNow directly about trial class pricing, whether materials are charged separately, and whether sibling or package discounts apply. Confirm the full cost structure before committing to avoid unexpected fees mid-term. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tutoring providers in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced rate or fully charged as a standard session. A trial is the best way to assess whether the teaching style suits your child, whether the level is appropriately pitched, and whether your child is engaged rather than passive during the lesson. When attending a trial, observe how the tutor explains concepts, whether questions are encouraged, and how the tutor responds to errors. One trial session is rarely enough to judge long-term progress, but it should give a clear sense of fit. Contact TutorNow via WhatsApp or phone to ask about their trial class policy and associated cost before booking.

What are the tutors' credentials at TutorNow?

TutorNow's listing does not specify individual tutor qualifications. In Singapore, private tutors range from NIE-trained former MOE schoolteachers and university graduates to undergraduates and poly students. The most relevant credentials for academic tutoring are NIE or MOE teaching experience, a degree in the relevant subject, and familiarity with the specific syllabus — whether MOE, IB, IGCSE, or AP. Before committing, ask TutorNow directly about the assigned tutor's educational background, years of teaching experience, and track record with students at your child's level and subject combination. Requesting to meet or speak with the tutor before the first session is entirely reasonable. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
