I boarded my two dogs with Ethan & the team at Urban K9 for 20 days while I was away on vacation, and I couldn’t be more pleased with their service! The dogs had lots of social time, pack walks, and plenty of run-and-play at the dog park. I really appreciated the frequent IG story updates—it was reassuring to see how well they were doing. They came home happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. Huge thanks to Ethan & team for taking such great care of them! 🐼🐻

Engaged Ethan for at-home individual training over a year ago as our dog Bobby was an extremely nervous walker and was difficult to control in public. Ethan instantly helped us learn techniques to better calm and lead Bobby, and we have since sent Bobby to Urban K9 daycare about once a week just for socialization and stimulation. Bobby loves Ethan and is so excited every time when he gets dropped off or if we arrange for him to get picked up. And he comes home so happy afterward. It’s clear Ethan loves all dogs and takes pride in his work. He’s an excellent trainer and caregiver and we could not recommend more highly.

If you're wondering if you should try out Urban K9, don't hesitate. An environment with staffs and a trainer that has passion in what he does, is more important than any other fancy, pretty "daycares" It was during my search for a personal trainer that I realise that many daycares in SG do not have trainers on-site with only unqualified staffs attending to the dogs. And so in situations when a dog fight occur, no-one is capable enough to control it and this have happened numerous times as reported on news / dog groups. My dogs have been with Urban K9 for 1yr+ now and I have seen tremendous improvements in both them and us humans. Ethan is easily the best trainer I've come across so far and I've been to alot when my Goldie first had reactivity at 8 months old. I've been told that my Goldie is a hopeless case by a "trainer" and it broke my spirit at that moment. I'm lucky I chose to continue with the journey to find a suitable trainer because the next I came across was Ethan. He taught me on how to be a better owner / handler, how to better read their body language and embrace their reactivity with confidence in order to properly manage it. And suggested that my Goldie can attend daycare/school so that he gets sufficient socialising with other dogs. My Goldie has since improved alot and is still continuing to amaze me at times. On the other hand, my Japanese Spitz and Corgi who was meant to be just a companion for my Goldie during training and days they attend "school", improved so much without us realising. Both are not as skittish as before, my Spitz starts playing around with other dogs and my Corgi starts ignoring objects that he used to fear. On their "school" days, they never fail to get up at 7.30am and standby at the side of my bed waiting for my alarm to go off, that's how enthusiastic they are about Urban K9. I have since introduced many others to join Urban K9 because I do believe that it would benefit both the dog and its owner. Ethan has began conducting workshops and although I've been through numerous private trainings and pick-up-from-school chats, the workshops never fail to amaze me with the new knowledges that I am exposed to. All in all, this is a place run by a trainer with passion and friendly staffs so give it a go to experience it first hand 😉 P/S: feel free to browse my furkids' IG "daycare" highlights to have an idea of what goes on at Urban K9 💕 IG: x4furballs

Wonderful training and dog daycare experience with Ethan and his team. Ethan is very knowledgeable and in fact is Singapore's very own dog whisperer (yes, he won Caesar's Recruit Asia)! He is able to manage large group of dogs with his secret technique, teach dog behaviour and dietary requirements. In addition, I have lodged my dog at his compound. Not only was it a pleasant experience, my dog's behaviour was a lot better after spending a few days there. Long overdue review, thanks Ethan. Definitely worth the time and money! PS highly recommended for all dog lovers~

First engaged Ethan when I was adopting Daisy my back then one-year-old Singapore Special. Daisy turns 10 this year. Back then we had several training sessions with Ethan both externally and at home. The sessions helped both myself and Daisy tremendously during that crucial period. Since then Ethan and his wife have also helped to look after Daisy on a few occasions when I had to travel. She was always returned to us in good condition. I don’t for one moment believe that he has ever been or will ever be a dog abuser. Licensing issues wise I’m sure the business will sort it out in due time with the relevant authorities. If you have entrusted your dog to him before, then it’s fair game to comment whether it’s a positive review or you have a bone to pick. Otherwise let’s not be happy keyboard warrior commenting based on hearsay and tidbits of information or misinformation picked up here and there. Jia you Ethan, Daisy says hi!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Urban K9 SG Pte Ltd charge?

Urban K9 SG Pte Ltd is priced at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or package rates were not published at the time of listing. In the Singapore market, dog training sessions typically range from around S$80 to S$200 per session for group classes, and S$150 to S$350 or more for private one-to-one sessions, with breed size and behavioural complexity affecting the final rate. Multi-session packages often work out at a lower per-session cost than booking individually. When enquiring, ask for a full breakdown covering any assessment or consultation fee, travel surcharges if the trainer comes to you, and whether materials such as training aids or handouts are included. Confirm the cancellation and rescheduling policy before committing. See the full pet training cost guide for Singapore →

What vaccinations does Urban K9 SG Pte Ltd require?

Most professional dog trainers and training facilities in Singapore require dogs to be current on core vaccinations before participating in any session, particularly where other dogs may be present. For dogs, this typically means DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) and rabies, with bordetella (kennel cough) often required for group settings or where dogs are in close contact. Vaccinations are generally expected to have been administered within the past 12 months. You should bring your dog's vaccination booklet or a veterinary certificate to the first session as proof. Contact Urban K9 SG Pte Ltd directly to confirm their specific vaccination requirements before your dog's first appointment.

Is Urban K9 SG Pte Ltd licensed and insured?

Urban K9 SG Pte Ltd is registered with ACRA and has been verified by KakiList, confirming that operating details and contact channels are active. Pet training providers in Singapore are not required to hold an AVS (Animal and Veterinary Service) licence in the same way that boarding or grooming facilities are, so the absence of a listed AVS licence is not unusual for a training-focused business. It is nonetheless worth asking the provider directly whether they carry professional liability insurance covering incidents during training sessions, and what their protocol is should a dog be injured or fall unwell in their care. Visit the facility or training venue if possible, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance coverage before your first drop-off or session.
