Families considering Villa Francis Home for the Aged should begin with a care assessment to establish the prospective resident's mobility, medical, and cognitive needs. It is important to clarify whether the home provides nursing-level clinical care, personal care, or dementia-specific support, and to confirm the ratio of care staff to residents and the availability of therapy services such as physiotherapy or occupational therapy. Families should discuss hours of access for visits, whether a short-stay or trial period is available, and who the primary decision-makers will be in the care relationship. Confirm the full fee structure in writing, including any supplementary charges for incontinence supplies, medical consumables, or specialist appointments.
To take the next step, contact Villa Francis Home for the Aged by phone or through the enquiry form to arrange an in-person visit, request a fee schedule, and discuss the care plan options available for your family member's specific needs.
Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
Only visited as a volunteer for residents to meet dogs as part of their social activities. Nice staffers from carpark entry & brief 1 hour visit, to exit. Helpful staffers. No complains. Sister Nun friendly in conversation. All good as visitors.

Villa Francis Home for the Aged does not publicly list its fees, so pricing must be confirmed directly with the home. Nursing home fees in Singapore vary depending on the level of care required (nursing, dementia, or personal care), the ward type (single, twin, or multi-bedded), and the resident's citizenship and income assessed under the MOH means-testing framework. As a guide, subsidised nursing home beds for Singapore Citizens typically range from S$700 to S$1,800 per month after government subsidy, while unsubsidised rates can run S$2,500 to S$5,000 or more per month. Additional charges to clarify include incontinence supplies, medical consumables, therapy sessions, and transport to hospital appointments. Public holiday surcharges may apply for supplementary services. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →
As a nursing home, Villa Francis Home for the Aged provides residential (live-in) care rather than visit-based home care. Residents move into the facility on a long-term basis, with round-the-clock staffing to support daily living, personal hygiene, medication management, and medical monitoring depending on the level of care offered. Families should clarify whether the home provides nursing-level clinical care, personal care support only, or a dedicated dementia care wing. Confirm the visiting hours policy, whether short-stay or respite admissions are available, and what the process is if the home determines it can no longer meet a resident's evolving medical needs. A trial or respite period, where available, can help families assess suitability before committing to a long-term placement.
Nursing homes operating in Singapore should be licensed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and are subject to inspection and licensing requirements under the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act. No MOH or AIC regulatory licence is currently recorded in this listing — families should ask the home directly to confirm its licensing status and provide documentation before admission. Ask specifically about the qualifications of nursing staff (registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and care assistants), whether dementia-specific training is in place if relevant, and how staff-to-resident ratios are maintained across day, evening, and night shifts. Confirm whether the home carries public liability insurance covering residents in the event of a fall or incident, and request a copy of the most recent MOH inspection report where available.
