In a sea of ID horror stories, very thankful that we had a superb experience with our ID Kok Wei from Voila. Our 4-room BTO renovation was extensive (includes reconfiguration of the rooms, hacking and re-tiling) and the project was under time pressure because of delays for our key collection, but Kok Wei managed to work his magic and delivered our home to us on time :) Throughout the process, he showed up with creativity and was very accommodating, going above and beyond what an ID should do, including taking calls with us at 11pm because of our work schedules, coordinating with our vendors, and being game to explore new ideas (eg we wanted dog doors and skylights). In the many decisions we had to make, he provides detailed counsel, laying out the pros and cons of each option and his final recommendation, which we appreciate given that we are first time homeowners. While we hear from our friends stories of having to head down and check on their renovation progress every other day because they do not trust their ID, we honestly only visited 6-8 times throughout the 2.5 months. Not a recommendation or benchmark - but just an indication of how much of a breeze the entire experience was. A key element we valued was how much we trusted Kok Wei, and that contributed to this positive experience. When there were issues (as with any renovation project), he tries his best to rectify as soon as possible or providing alternatives solutions. We even saw him making some paint touch ups on a Sunday just to make sure we get our place in the best possible condition before the handover! Grateful that we had such a great partner throughout this renovation experience. Highly recommend (we have been recommending to our friends) and thank you for designing our first home! 😊

Everything is good, and we’re really happy to have chosen Helen as our ID! She has been great to work with throughout the entire process and is always super responsive — big claps to her! Helen takes the time to truly understand what we want from the very beginning, and she does so with professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine care. She’s able to convey ideas precisely, and her designs always strike a great balance between aesthetics and practicality. Her sense of style is spot on, and she consistently manages to bring everything together beautifully. We also really appreciate her efficiency in planning all the works. The renovation was completed earlier than expected and turned out even better than we imagined. I reached out to 5 ID firms and eventually chose Ming Yi to be our ID for our 2 bed + 1 study apartment. Since day 1, she has been patient, creative, willing to try new ideas with us and is very knowledgeable in this field. She has a flair in design and we immediately fell in love with her first render draft (minimal changes were required before carpentry fabrication). She is not afraid to tell us how certain ideas would not work out due to space constraint or it’s not practical even when it means earning less from us. We went back and forth so many times and she dealt with us so patiently despite all the changes. She is also super detailed to ensure all workmanship is of quality and handled the timeline of the renovation swiftly. Post Reno, Ming Yi was very efficient in arranging to fix any defects too. I’ve heard so many reno horror stories and I’m glad ours went along so smoothly! Thank you Ming Yi for building our beautiful home ❤️

We came across Voila Design on Instagram and was assigned to Ming Yi as our designer and we were blessed to have her as our ID. First impression of her was someone who takes pride in her work and was sharp in her questioning. Throughout the whole renovation process, it was very clear to us that she is really passionate about her work and is working hard to build up her portfolio with her own creativity and ideas. We’re glad to entrust our first home in her hands as she did more than what we could have imagined and we can’t thank her enough for making our first dream home happened 😌 It’s rare to meet such an ID like Ming Yi nowadays, an individual who is passionate, genuine and sincere in all her engagements with us.
