About A4 Employment Agency
A4 Employment Agency is a domestic helper placement service based at Upper Bukit Timah, covering households islandwide across Singapore. It holds a KakiList verified status and a Google rating of 4.7 across 58 reviews, which represents a moderate sample. When engaging a maid agency, the typical process involves discussing your household's needs — whether you are seeking a new hire from source countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, or Sri Lanka, or a transfer helper already in Singapore. Transfer helpers are generally available more quickly and carry a lower placement fee. Beyond the agency's placement fee, households should budget for the helper's monthly salary (typically S$550–800 depending on nationality and experience), the monthly MOM levy (S$300 standard, or the concessionary rate of S$60 if your household includes a child under 16, an elderly member aged 67 or above, or a person with disability), mandatory FDW insurance, the Settling-In Programme, and the two-year Work Permit application. To take the next step, contact A4 Employment Agency by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing, request their MOM EA Licence number, and ask for a written breakdown of all fees before signing any agreement.
Verify the EA Licence number on MOM's online EA directory before paying any deposit, and read the agency contract's replacement, refund, and early-termination clauses.
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of helpers and overall experience with this agency. I experienced the following over a short span of two months: Dec to Feb. The first helper provided had very poor basic English and communication skills and showed a poor working attitude. She frequently feigned illness, claimed her hands were itchy and said she was unable to do housework, and repeatedly mentioned that she wanted to return to Myanmar. She created constant drama, cried almost every day, and even used her phone while assisting an elderly person, which is completely unacceptable. The second helper was a replacement and it was introduced by the agency, and I had to pay all service fees, insurance, and placement loan again. On the first day of arrival, she said she was homesick and wanted to go back to Myanmar, which was never disclosed during the interview process. Her working attitude was terrible and posed serious safety concerns — she left a puddle of water on the floor at night (dangerous for anyone, especially the elderly) and opened the gate wide just to take a phone call, compromising household security. Overall, the quality control of helpers at this agency is very poor. New helpers appear to have zero knowledge of basic household chores and everything must be taught from scratch by the employer. Meanwhile, so-called “experienced” helpers are allowed to pick employers and make excuses to leave, with the financial burden placed entirely on the employer each time. I strongly urge others to think carefully before engaging this agency, as the costs are high and the risk is entirely borne by the employer.
I was referred to A4 Employment Agency by my daughter who got a good caregiver for my granddaughter from them. Maureen helped me source 2 caregivers for my elderly father. Both caregivers have been with us for 3 months now and we are really thankfully that the new helpers turn out better that our expectation. A4 although not a big Agency has good customer service and they make an effort to source and screen helpers that match our needs and requirements. I am comfortable to recommend this particular Agency for any domestic helper needs.
I had some really poor experiences with helper agency’s in Singapore. Most seem to have no interest in client needs only interested in making maximum profits. This is not the experience I had with A4 Ms Maureen, whose services I stumbled upon by chance. She is extremely helpful educated me on requirements and legalities as well as sound and practical advices. She took her time over 3 months of communication to find the correct helper for our family. She worked to our timeline and that was very important with a new baby on the way. She found us the perfect helper for our needs and has always been prompt and supportive of any queries we have had about the process. I’d be extremely confident that any issues that could arise would be diligently resolved by Maureen and her team. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Had multiple bad experience with other agencies until we chance upon A4. Their services do not stop after they release the maid to us, they do call and check if the maid is doing fine and even offer to assist if we need help to explain things to the maid. They respond to our queries and messages swiftly when we have any questions, always patience and well mannered. Highly recommend them to all my friends who needs a helper!
I'm thankful to meet Ms Teo who is very friendly, experienced and very patience in explaining the procedures and very meticulous in assisting me in choosing the suitable helper for my family. Through her, I also learn new scheme implemented by MOM- Advanced placement scheme (APS), which expedite my process of getting a new helper as soon as within a week! Till now, I'm very pleased with the service and followup service provided by Ms Teo. Very happy with my current helper who has definitely help to lighten up most of my load at home. 😊 thank you! Will recommend this agency to others if there is a need.

A4 Employment Agency is listed at a '$$' price tier with a package-based model, but specific fee figures are not published. As a market reference, placement fees for a new hire from overseas typically run S$1,500–3,500, while transfer helper placements — where the helper is already in Singapore on an existing Work Permit — tend to sit lower at S$500–1,500. Beyond the agency's placement fee, households should account for the helper's monthly salary (S$550–800 depending on nationality and experience), the MOM monthly levy (S$300 standard or S$60 concessionary), mandatory FDW insurance (~S$300–600 per year), the Settling-In Programme fee, and the Work Permit application. No MOM Employment Agency (EA) Licence is listed in A4 Employment Agency's current profile. Every legitimate agency placing foreign domestic workers in Singapore is required by law to hold this licence, and it should appear on the agency's website, contracts, and invoices. You can verify any agency's licence — and its EA Grading from A+ to C — on MOM's online EA directory by searching the agency name or licence number. Hiring through an unlicensed agent is illegal, leaves you without recourse if placement issues arise, and can void your helper's insurance. Before paying any deposit, ask A4 Employment Agency for their EA Licence number and confirm it on the MOM directory.
A4 Employment Agency's replacement policy is not detailed in the current listing. As a market benchmark, reputable agencies typically offer at least one free replacement within six months of the helper's arrival, subject to documented mismatch rather than buyer's remorse. Ask A4 Employment Agency specifically how many replacements are included, what circumstances void the guarantee, and what the cost of additional replacements would be. Also confirm the early-termination process — if a placement breaks down outside the guarantee window, the household is generally responsible for the repatriation flight, Work Permit cancellation paperwork, and any unused levy refund. Getting these terms in writing before signing is essential.
