About Academia

About Academia

Academia is a tuition centre listed on KakiList serving students across Singapore. The provider is KakiList verified and ACRA registered, offering a degree of confidence in its operating details. It holds a Google rating of 4.4 out of 5 across 48 reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or monthly fees are not published and should be confirmed directly with the centre.

Families considering Academia should begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the centre covers MOE, PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or IGCSE curriculum — and whether group tuition or one-to-one sessions are available. It is worth asking whether a trial class is offered before committing to a term, as this allows both the student and the tutor to gauge compatibility. Parents should also clarify the location at 20 College Road and whether online sessions are an option, along with the term commitment expected and the centre's policy on make-up lessons.

To take the next step, reach out to Academia via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form on the listing to ask about current availability, the relevant subject and level, and whether a trial class can be arranged before committing to a full term.

I went for an event at this place, and actually lost my visitor pass. I thought I was cooked but turns out, the security and housekeeping team was AMAZING. They didn't scold me, instead were highly professional in solving the issue and was so friendly and warm. Big shoutout to Mr Manjeet (I think he is team lead) he was so warm, forgiving for my mistake, and helped me with the necessary actions when I misplaced my card. I will definitely come back here again! Thank you to the housekeeping and security team again!

Recently, the building management banned bicycle parking in unused and out-of-sight areas outside the building. Employees are now forced to park in an open, unsecured area where locking bicycles is impossible. The location is also on a slope and without proper support, making it difficult to keep bikes upright instead of falling on ground, especially in windy conditions. This decision disregards the needs of employees who rely on cycling for their commute and shows how little the management cares about the working class.

Review : August 2022 Great building to talk about medical adventures and play sick 😷 🙂 for others to learn how to work 🙃 🙂 professionally. Fees and charges are charged according to impressive set-ups. That's the vital importance of such infrastructure Have witnessed good medical care in the past decades unlike now with huge impressive infrastructure but unlike the past modest professional work 👏 Hope you'll understand what's the Academy Academia is meant for.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Academia charge per session?

Academia has not published specific session rates on its listing, so fees should be confirmed directly with the centre. As a general reference, tuition centres in Singapore typically charge S$30–60 per session for group classes and S$60–150 per session for one-to-one tuition, depending on the subject, level, and tutor's qualifications. Monthly packages or term-based fees may work out at a lower effective per-session rate than paying per class. Ask about any trial class fee, whether materials or workbooks are charged separately, and whether sibling or multi-subject discounts apply. Some centres apply an administrative or registration fee for new students. See the full tuition centre cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class — sometimes at a reduced fee, sometimes at full session cost — before asking students to sign up for a term. It is worth asking Academia directly whether this is available and what the trial arrangement covers. A trial class is useful for assessing whether the teaching style suits your child's learning pace, whether the level of the class is appropriately pitched, and whether the student feels comfortable in the environment. Come prepared with recent school results or assessment papers so the tutor can gauge the student's starting point accurately. If the fit is not right after the trial, it is reasonable to ask whether a different class group or session format might be a better match before committing to a full term.

What are the tutors' credentials at Academia?

Academia's listing does not include specific information about tutor qualifications, so this is an important question to raise directly with the centre. Key things to ask include whether tutors hold an NIE qualification or a relevant degree in the subject, whether any have prior MOE school teaching experience, and how many years each tutor has been teaching the relevant syllabus. For examination-focused subjects such as PSLE, O-Level, or A-Level, it is also worth confirming that the tutor is familiar with the current MOE syllabus and mark scheme, as these are updated periodically. If a specific tutor is assigned, request their profile before the first session so you know who your child will be learning from. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
