Families typically begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether that is the MOE mainstream curriculum, PSLE preparation, or secondary and junior college subject support. It is worth asking whether classes are conducted in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as this affects both pacing and price. Confirm the term commitment and whether a trial class is available before you sign up, and clarify whether sessions are held at the Yishun centre or offered online. If you have more than one child enrolling, ask about sibling or package discounts.
To take the next step, reach Writers Guild Learning Centre by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to ask about current vacancies for your child's level, confirm the class format, and arrange a trial class.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
My twin girls are attending Teacher Devya's creative writing classes and they look forward to it every week! She is friendly and approachable. Her classes are fun and engaging. It's a joy see my children going to classes with enthusiasm. They will revisit and revise phrases/vocab that they had learnt in class every week! One of my girls scored full marks in compo after attending her class for 2.5months. The materials provided are very comprehensive. Counter staff are also friendly and helpful whenever I need to make up classes! 👍 Overall very satisfied with Writer's Guild AMK!

Fees at tuition centres in Singapore are typically structured as a monthly package, a per-term fee, or a per-session rate depending on the provider's model. It is common to pay a one-off registration or administrative fee at enrolment, and some centres charge separately for printed materials or workbooks. A trial class, where offered, may be free or charged at a reduced rate. Sibling discounts and multi-subject package pricing are worth asking about if you are enrolling more than one child or signing up for several subjects. Confirm whether the quoted fee covers all materials before committing. See the full Tuition Centres cost guide for Singapore →
Many tuition centres offer a trial class so that parents and students can assess whether the teaching style, pace, and level are a good fit before agreeing to a term or monthly commitment. During a trial, pay attention to how the tutor explains concepts, whether the student is engaged, and whether the class level matches your child's current standing. If a trial class is available, ask upfront whether it is complimentary or chargeable, and whether it counts towards the first month's fees if you proceed. Contact Writers Guild Learning Centre directly to confirm their trial class policy and to check availability at the Yishun centre.
Tutor qualifications at tuition centres in Singapore vary — some hold NIE teaching qualifications or have prior MOE school experience, while others are degree holders with strong subject expertise and years of private tutoring experience. Syllabus alignment is also worth confirming: ask whether the tutors are familiar with the current MOE curriculum, and if relevant, whether they cover PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB, or IGCSE requirements. Specific credential information for Writers Guild Learning Centre's tutors is not publicly listed here. It is recommended to ask directly — a reputable centre will be transparent about its tutors' backgrounds and experience before you enrol.
