About Annabelle Psychology

About Annabelle Psychology

Annabelle Psychology is a counselling and psychology practice based at Royal Square Medical Centre in Novena, serving clients islandwide from its clinic on the 17th floor. The practice has been verified by KakiList, and holds a 3.7 out of 5 across 23 Google reviews — a moderate sample that suggests a mixed but not uncommon spread of client experiences for a specialist mental health service. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range ($$) level; exact session fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly.

Clients typically begin with an initial consultation to discuss their presenting concerns, goals, and relevant history. The psychologist or counsellor will conduct an intake assessment to establish whether the service is a suitable fit — relevant for anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, work stress, or other mental health concerns. From there, sessions are generally structured around an agreed therapeutic approach, with frequency and total number of sessions discussed early. It is worth confirming in advance whether the practice offers individual, couples, or family therapy, and whether sessions are covered under your health insurance or employee assistance programme.

To take the next step, reach out to Annabelle Psychology via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, the intake process, and session fees before booking your first appointment.

One of the psychologists here, E___ Tan, used to bully me so much back in school days where I was a meek and quiet girl that it took at least a decade to recover from the intense trauma. She was the biggest bully of my life. The level of trauma is so deep that I still have recurring nightmares until awhile ago. I was so kind to her. She derived joy from putting me down, bullying and humiliating me in public, picking on me, rubbing salt on my wounds. That was despite her knowing that I already was suffering so much in an abusive family. I was never once mean to her. I just suffered in silence. I will never forget her presence in my life, it taught me to be strong instead of being a softie and a pushover. Pls be a kind person, you don’t know what others are going through. And do not mistake one’s kindness for weakness. I am glad to see her becoming a psychologist to help reverse that karma to heal others and hope that this journey has made her a better, kinder and more self-aware person now. My prayers and thoughts goes out to all who are recovering from any kind of trauma, especially from bullying.

I had about four sessions with Dr Annabelle. Towards the second half of the last session with her, she suggested that I switch to another new therapist from her clinic. After I expressed my reluctance and asked for the reason, she explained the rationale and I decided to agree to it. However, I felt that the whole process was very rushed as this was done towards the end of the session. I think it is okay to suggest a switch of therapist, but there should be ample time given to discuss this matter. Ideally, the switch should also be done only when the client is comfortable and ready to do so. Overall, I feel that she has sound practical approach but it could be better executed in consideration of one's feelings. During the sessions, I liked that she was not dismissive most of the time and seemed to be listening. However, there were times when she did not give me the chance to discuss something as a follow up from the last session. Her responses also showed a lack of true understanding of complex trauma. Personally, the experience here made me feel worse. I would not recommend Dr Annabelle to someone with complex trauma, though people with other issues could benefit from her approach. I have since gone to another clinic that was better able to address the root cause of my issue.

(not using my real name for privacy purposes) I went to Anabelle Psychology at Winstedt Road branch for about 4 months and made no progress. The psychologist is really young and lacks experience in dealing with my case. She often didn’t know how to respond and would just suggest breathing exercises every week or YouTube some mindfulness exercise. It felt like I wasn’t even being heard by her during the session at all. After I shared something it just led to - breathing exercise / mindfulness exercise. The therapist is really serious and stern and the sessions are often super intense and I leave sessions feeling even more stressed out and anxious. After leaving Anabelle I went to a different clinic and my condition improved a lot. My new therapist definitely has a lot more experience and knows how to handle my case better. Overall I do not recommend Annabelle psychology as the therapist there are all really young and lack experience and training.

I’ve had sessions with Max for a few months, before leaving Singapore to return to my home country. Albeit the short duration, my sessions with him have been life-changing and I’ve made significant improvement in terms of my mental wellbeing. I would like to thank him for all the sessions so far, and for equipping me with a bunch of helpful resources and coping skill set that I am able to keep and use for life! :)

Been visiting here for more than a year and keep coming back. Max is a good therapist who is non-judgmental yet also prompts gently to consider new perspectives after helping me to identify what I want to work on. Counter staff are very friendly and have been accommodating over all these months when I need to change appointments etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Annabelle Psychology charge per session?

Annabelle Psychology is listed at a mid-range ($$) price point, but exact per-session fees are not publicly displayed and should be confirmed directly before booking. In Singapore, psychology and counselling sessions typically run S$120–250 per hour at private clinics, with psychiatrist-led sessions running higher. Ask whether an initial consultation is priced differently from subsequent sessions, and whether package rates are available for ongoing therapy. If you hold private health insurance or have access to an employee assistance programme (EAP), confirm whether the practice is a panel provider or whether you can claim reimbursement for out-of-pocket payments. No GST exemption applies to counselling services at private clinics — factor this in when comparing costs. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Most private psychology and counselling practices in Singapore, including clinic-based ones like Annabelle Psychology, do not require a formal GP referral for self-referred clients. You can typically contact the practice directly and request an intake appointment. However, if you are claiming through a health insurer or a corporate EAP, your policy may require a GP or psychiatrist referral — check your coverage terms before booking. The first session usually functions as an intake and assessment — the clinician will ask about your presenting concerns, relevant background, and goals. It is useful to bring any prior reports or letters from GPs, psychiatrists, or previous therapists. Be open about contraindications or risk factors (such as active suicidal ideation or a recent psychiatric admission), as these may require a different level of care than outpatient counselling can provide.

Is the practitioner licensed?

In Singapore, the title 'psychologist' is not yet a protected title under statute, though registered practitioners voluntarily list with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or hold registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) if they are practising as a provisionally or fully registered clinical or counselling psychologist. Counsellors may be accredited with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). Annabelle Psychology does not currently list regulatory licences in its KakiList profile. Before booking, ask the practice directly for the full name and registration details of the clinician you will see, and verify their credentials on the AHPC public register or the SPS membership directory. Confirm the practitioner's qualification level (Masters, Doctorate, or postgraduate diploma), their area of specialism, and whether they carry professional indemnity insurance.
