I’ve been seeing Johanna Cheong for months and cannot recommend her highly enough. She is exceptionally skilled at treating my neck, back, and shoulder aches, and every treatment session leaves me feeling significantly better almost instantly. Johanna is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and her attentiveness makes every visit a positive experience. She takes the time to listen to my concerns, and always tailors her treatments to provide the best possible care. Her genuine dedication shows not only during the session but also afterward too by checking in the next day to make sure I’m feeling okay, which is such a thoughtful and personal touch. Johanna is absolutely the one to see for all. Highly recommended!

I went to see Johanna with a tension headache and found relief after 3 sessions with her. She applied dry needling and gentle massages on my shoulders and neck. She is very experienced and able to pinpoint the area that is causing the discomfort. She suggested exercises and identified correctly that I may be severely dehydrated and to take electrolytes to aid recovery. She also checked to find out how my condition was after the treatment. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Johanna is exceptional! I’ve struggled with lower back pain for years, and despite trying chiropractic treatments, the pain never fully went away. Dr. Johanna actually found the exact spot that was hurting, and I was genuinely shocked because no one has ever treated the source of the ache. (I have tried all sorts of massages, be it TCM, Thai, Javanese etc and none of them gave me such relief.) It’s been five days since my treatment, and my back no longer hurts the way it used to. 😃 Dr. Johanna took the time to explain my condition clearly and gave practical advice on how to reduce strain on my back moving forward, which I really appreciated. On top of that, she’s incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, and the consultation felt comfortable and reassuring from start to finish. I would highly recommend her to anyone dealing with persistent back issues. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

After a bad move during workout, I lock my back. For proximity reason I took an appointment with Back in Health and consulted Johanna Cheong. Many of us would think osteopathy is quiet standard but I must say the consultation was way above my expectations. Johanna took the time through a lot of question to understand the pain but also considered what I was looking for which was the most important for me, fast recovery to get the pain out to hit my workout next day. Needling was new for me but I could immediately feel a relief. I am always fearing the moment of "cracking bones" to remove the air in the spine and my stress makes it very difficult. This time Johanna, made me feel so in trust that all my fears were removed. Massage of muscles and relieving tensions was excellent. I highly appreciated that Johanna texted me the next day to find out if I did feel better, this is for me the difference between simply doing the job and being passionate about it. Thank you Johanna!

I recently sprained my back and it was the worst ever. I went to numerous TCM and felt better after each session. However, the pain comes back and sometimes even more painful. That's when I came across 'Back in Health' and managed to get an urgent slot last Saturday afternoon. My first session with Johanna was great. She was empathetic of the pain and to explain the possible muscle group that was acting up. She assured that the pain is a normal body response - as I was worried that it could be an onset for something more serious. She taught me stretches that I can attempt on my own and went the further mile by checking on me later that evening with links to resources to help with my recovery. Thankfully I got better over the weekend and am able to resume my daily activities slowly. Yesterday (5 days later), I felt a lot after my follow-up treatment for Dry Needling and Shockwave Therapy. Greatly recommend 'Back in Health'. Professional, Comforting Ambience and No Hard Selling. Thanks Johanna!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Back In Health Osteopathy charge per session?

Back In Health Osteopathy is priced in the mid-range tier (displayed as $$), though specific per-session rates are not published on this listing. For osteopathic and physiotherapy-related care in Singapore, initial consultations typically run S$100–180, with follow-up sessions in the S$80–150 range depending on duration and treatment complexity. Package rates may be available for a course of treatment. Confirm the exact fee, whether a separate initial consultation charge applies, and the cancellation or no-show policy before your first appointment. Do I need a referral or assessment first?

A GP referral is not required to book a first appointment at Back In Health Osteopathy — you can contact the practice directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form. However, bringing any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI reports) or specialist letters will help the practitioner understand your history and tailor the initial assessment. If you intend to claim through an insurance policy or Medisave, check with your insurer beforehand, as some plans require a GP referral letter to validate a claim. For complex conditions or post-surgical rehabilitation, a referral from your treating doctor also helps ensure the practitioner has a complete clinical picture before beginning treatment.

Is the practitioner at Back In Health Osteopathy licensed?

In Singapore, osteopaths are not yet regulated under the Allied Health Professions Act, unlike physiotherapists who are registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) — verifiable on the AHPC public register at careers.mccy.gov.sg. If the practitioner at Back In Health Osteopathy also holds physiotherapy registration, ask for their AHPC registration number and confirm it on the register before proceeding. For osteopathic practice specifically, voluntary membership with the Singapore Osteopathic Association or internationally recognised training (British School of Osteopathy, osteopathic colleges in Australia or the US) is a credible trust signal. Ask directly about the practitioner's qualifications, training institution, and years of clinical experience before your first session.
