About Better Play

About "Better Play"

Better Play is a playgroup provider operating from its centre at Katong Point on Joo Chiat Road. It has been verified by KakiList, meaning a real person has confirmed its operating details and contact channels. The centre holds a 4.9-star rating across 52 Google reviews — a moderate sample that suggests consistent parent satisfaction, though prospective families should weigh it alongside a direct visit. Fees are priced at the mid-range tier on a monthly recurring basis.

Families considering Better Play would typically begin by enquiring about slot availability for their intended start month, as playgroup places — particularly for younger age groups — can fill well ahead of time. During that initial contact, it is worth asking about the child-to-caregiver ratio, the structure of a typical daily routine, and what a settling-in period looks like for new children. Parents of Singapore citizen children should also ask whether ECDA subsidies apply, as eligibility depends on the provider's registration status. Better Play can be reached by phone or through the enquiry form on its listing.

The clearest next step is to call or submit the contact form to ask about current vacancies for your child's intended start month, then arrange a visit to the Katong Point centre to meet the team and see the learning environment before committing.

We celebrated our toddler’s birthday here and it was an amazing experience throughout. From the ease of planning to the wonderful toys & place, everyone had a blast and could really catch up comfortably while the kids played around. Also loved the door gift (books!), thank you so much!

There isn’t really anything like Better Play in the area that allows babies to play in a safe space, and also give adults some quiet time to sit near them. The staff are always super friendly and they keep the place spotless and tidy. They have a new package that allows you to pick a day and then get six sessions discounted. Great for parent catch ups too!

Small and simple indoor playground (in a good way). Has several brio train sets and lots of different wooden vehicles and figurines to expand the play. A great way to spend an hour or two with the various play areas. They also conduct various music classes for the younger ones. Little farms is just downstairs, so it's super convenient for a meal after play. Would definitely recommend here for kids who love train sets and pretend play!

Our toddler really enjoys her time here and would ask to come every weekend! Calm and clean environment, friendly staff, it’s our favourite play area in the East!

Was here on a public holiday noon, not crowded at all. Same concept with another place we've always went @ central area but here smaller. The plus point is quiet n cosy, no one snatch train with my boy. My son likes the toys type of indoor playground as compare to slide types (he like both of cos but he prefer this). Ur kid can stay really concentrated on the toys by himself n u can relax on the sofa or there's high chair table area outside if u wish to work on laptop. The downside is the location, unless u drive or live nearby, or say if u went east coast on weekend with kid n wish to slack after the beach trip? N maybe the boss can consider add on more toys variety as place seems very 空 ... When I Google B4 dropping by I was wondering should I go as images online seems like toys not much, just an honest review

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Better Play" charge per month?

Better Play operates on a monthly recurring fee model, positioned at the mid-range price tier. When enquiring, ask for the full breakdown of what the monthly fee covers alongside any one-off costs at enrolment — these typically include a registration fee and a refundable deposit of around two months' fees, as well as uniform and personal accident insurance where applicable. Childcare and playgroup fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the quoted monthly figure should reflect what you actually pay. Always confirm the exact amounts in writing before signing any agreement, as fees can vary by age group and session hours. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "Better Play"?

Government subsidies for childcare and playgroup in Singapore are available to Singapore citizen children enrolled at ECDA-licensed centres. The Basic Subsidy provides up to S$600 per month for infant care and up to S$300 per month for childcare. Working mothers employed for at least 56 hours per month may qualify for an additional Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy on top of that. Lower-income families may access further means-tested support, with combined subsidy amounts potentially reaching up to S$710 per month or more depending on household income. Permanent Resident children receive partial subsidies at lower quantum. Before assuming subsidy eligibility at Better Play, confirm directly with the centre whether it holds the necessary ECDA licence, as subsidy claims require the provider to be registered with ECDA. Subsidy rates and income thresholds are reviewed periodically — visit the ECDA website for the most current figures.

Is there a waitlist at "Better Play"?

Playgroup and childcare places in Singapore can be in high demand, and families are generally advised to enquire at least three to six months ahead of their intended start date. January is the peak intake month for most centres, so if you are targeting a start in the new year, earlier enquiry is strongly recommended. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee followed by a deposit once a slot is confirmed. Contact Better Play directly by phone or through the enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's age group and preferred start month, as waitlist length can shift quickly.
