Patients typically begin with a first consultation during which the physiotherapist conducts a structured assessment of the presenting condition — whether that is a musculoskeletal injury, post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, or neurological recovery. From there, a treatment plan is agreed, covering modality selection (manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, or a combination), session frequency, and whether a recurring package or single sessions better suits the clinical need. Cancellation and rescheduling policies are worth confirming at the outset, particularly if the patient has a busy or unpredictable schedule.
To book an initial assessment, contact BMJ Physiotherapy (NUH Kent Ridge) via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form — all three channels are active. Describe the condition and any relevant medical history so the clinic can assign the most appropriate physiotherapist and allocate sufficient appointment time.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
I’ve been seeing physiotherapist Alison for my post-surgery recovery, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the care and support I’ve received over the past 8 months. From barely able to move or turn my forearm to almost 100% mobility now, it’s been such a journey — and she has been there every step of the way, guiding me with patience and encouragement. Their admin team also deserves a huge shoutout for always being so efficient and friendly — from helping me book my sessions to sending timely reminders, they make the whole process so smooth. Really appreciate the professionalism and genuine care from the whole team. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dedicated and supportive physio clinic! 💪✨
I came to Yi Liang with a torn labrum and the goal of getting fully back to the gym and BJJ. What I really appreciated was how structured and progressive the rehab process was. He didn’t just focus on relieving the pain (which he successfully did), but also made sure I strengthened the right stabilising muscles to prevent future issues. As a fellow BJJ practitioner, he understood exactly what the sport demands on the body. That made a huge difference because he knew the right advice to give me, and how I can slowly get back to 100% at a sport I love. Highly recommend Yi Liang if you’re looking for someone knowledgeable, attentive, and serious about getting you back to performing at your best.
TL;DR; This is a great physiotherapy place. Highly recommended. Especially Dr. Li Yiang. Long Answer: I sprained my ankle during a hike. went to GP, did an xray and met a specialist. It turned out the "sprain" was actually an ankle avulsion fracture. I was able to walk but the specialist suggested to do physiotherapy. So, at BMJ Physiotherapy, I had 2 sessions with Dr. Li Yiang. He was the first person to show me from first principles the biomechanics of an ankle and "why" I need to do certain exercises for faster recovery. After 2 sessions, I had to travel again and couldn't continue. Dr Li Yiang kept in touch to enquire about my ankle. overall great experience!
Exceptional care and results. BMJ Physiotherapy at Marine Parade, took wonderful care of my mother, and her recovery was both fast and remarkable. A special thank you to Senior physiotherapist Chew Sook Fun for the professionalism, patience, and genuine care shown throughout her sessions. We felt very supported, and the quality of treatment truly made a difference. Highly recommended.
I’ve been seeing Physio Dylan from June to October for a suspected ATFL tear, and he has been nothing short of professional and knowledgeable. He explains every exercise clearly and how each one supports my recovery and strengthening. It was also my first time trying dry needling, and it unexpectedly helped relieve the pain and tension. I wouls also like to thank Pauline, who has been incredibly patient in following up on my appointment dates and times, even when I occasionally forgot to reply. Overall, a great experience with BMJ and I highly recommend Dylan for his expertise and great service.

A formal GP or specialist referral is not required to book a physiotherapy appointment at most private clinics, including BMJ Physiotherapy (NUH Kent Ridge). You can self-refer directly. However, if you intend to claim under MediSave or a private integrated shield plan, a referral letter from a polyclinic or specialist may be necessary — confirm this with your insurer before the first appointment. At the first visit, you can expect an intake assessment covering your medical history, the nature and duration of symptoms, any imaging or reports you have, and functional goals. The physiotherapist will identify contraindications (for example, certain manual therapy techniques are not appropriate immediately post-surgery or during active infection) before beginning treatment. Bringing any relevant MRI, X-ray, or specialist discharge summaries to the first session will help the therapist form a more complete clinical picture.
Physiotherapists practising in Singapore must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) under the Allied Health Professions Act. Before your first appointment, ask the clinic to confirm the full name and AHPC registration number of the physiotherapist who will be treating you, and verify this on the public register. Physiotherapists who completed training overseas should hold a recognised qualification and have passed the AHPC registration requirements.
