About Bridging the Gap

About Bridging the Gap

Bridging the Gap is a counselling practice located at City Square Mall, Kitchener Road, offering services islandwide. The listing has been verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration has been confirmed. With only one Google review at 5/5, the rating is too limited a sample to draw meaningful conclusions about service quality.

When engaging a counselling service, the typical first step is an initial consultation where the practitioner gathers information about your presenting concerns, goals, and relevant background. It is worth asking whether the first session is assessment-focused or immediately therapeutic in nature, what the session format looks like (individual, couples, or family), whether sessions are available in person at the City Square Mall premises or remotely, the session length and frequency, and the cancellation and rescheduling policy. Package pricing versus single-session rates is also worth clarifying upfront, as many practices offer both.

To get started, contact Bridging the Gap via phone or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, confirm the counsellor's credentials and registration with the relevant professional board, and request an initial consultation to assess whether the approach is a good fit for your needs.

The teachers are amazing, my son's journey was only 2months but his progress was very good with the help and love of their teachers and all staff we can see improvements and good progress. We love the good vibes centre has and their dedication to help not only the children but the whole family to understand and to cope on this journey. Kudos to teacher Miao Lin and Ying Wen and all the all amzing BTG teachers!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Bridging the Gap charge per session?

Bridging the Gap displays a mid-range price indicator ($$), but specific per-session fees are not publicly listed. In Singapore, counselling and psychotherapy sessions typically run S$100–200 per hour at private practices. First consultation fees may differ from subsequent sessions, and some practitioners offer discounted packages for a block of sessions. Confirm whether a separate intake or assessment fee applies for the first appointment, what the cancellation and no-show policy is, and whether sessions attract GST. Ask about any package or concession pricing if you anticipate regular appointments. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Most counselling practices in Singapore do not require a GP referral for private self-funded sessions, though a referral can be helpful if you intend to claim from an insurer or Medisave (note that Medisave generally does not cover outpatient counselling unless the practitioner is a registered psychiatrist or psychologist under specific schemes). For an initial visit at Bridging the Gap, expect to complete an intake form covering your presenting concerns, mental health history, and goals. It is worth asking upfront whether there are any conditions or presentations the practice does not currently take on, and whether a GP letter would assist with your specific situation.

Is the practitioner at Bridging the Gap licensed?

Counselling and psychotherapy in Singapore are not yet statutorily regulated the way physiotherapy or TCM are, so the term 'licensed' does not apply in the same way. However, reputable practitioners typically hold membership with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or are registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP) administered by the Singapore Psychological Society — both of which have codes of ethics and require verified training. Bridging the Gap has not listed any regulatory licences on KakiList. Before booking, ask for the counsellor's professional credentials, training background, and board or association membership, and verify membership status directly with SAC or SRP if relevant. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
