A first appointment typically begins with a consultation during which the practitioner assesses your presenting condition — whether that is musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, digestive complaints, stress, or a chronic condition — using TCM diagnostic methods such as tongue and pulse observation. Based on this, a treatment plan is proposed, which may involve acupuncture, cupping, tui na, or herbal prescriptions, as well as a recommended session frequency. It is worth clarifying upfront whether you prefer a single session or an ongoing package, and whether you have any contraindications (such as pregnancy or blood-thinning medication) that the practitioner should account for.
To book, reach Chen Chi Tow Healthcare via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form, and mention your condition and preferred appointment time so they can allocate the right session length.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
My daughter had a sports injury that caused back pain, and her coach referred us to this TCM clinic. 张医师 was patient and kind throughout the consultation. She carefully examined my daughter’s condition and explained everything clearly before recommending treatment, which included 推拿 (therapeutic massage) and a 热敷 (heat therapy) session. As a male therapist was assigned to attend to my daughter, I requested to remain in the room so she would feel more at ease. The therapist was professional throughout the session, and we appreciate that. However, for younger female patients, it may be more appropriate to assign a female therapist where possible to avoid any potential discomfort or awkwardness. Likewise, male patients could be attended to by male therapists. I believe this would help patients feel more comfortable during treatment. Before payment, the staff asked if we would like to sign up for a membership to enjoy discounts on future visits. We preferred to wait and see how the treatment goes first, and they were perfectly fine with it, no hard selling or pressure, which we appreciate. My daughter also mentioned that the pain relief plaster provided by the clinic worked better than the one we bought from the pharmacy. Most importantly, she felt noticeable relief even after the first visit. We will definitely be back for a second session. Thank you for the attentive care!

Have been having knee problems. Dr Liu is able to diagnose and do acupuncture to help treat the pain. Kelvin did the tui ngah / massage after Dr's diagnosis and he was very professional. Knees were better after just a few minutes. Will be back for follow up.
Highly recommend therapist Liu Fang! Have been going to her for a few sessions of post partum massage so far and my tummy is significantly slimmer. She is skillful and always checks which are the problem areas at the start of each session. Appreciate her dedication to ensuring the best care and results for each customer. Also love the newly renovated space! Very modern and comfortable. Plus the counter staff are always very friendly and helpful!

TCM consultation and treatment fees in Singapore typically range from S$40 to S$120 per session for acupuncture or tui na, with initial consultations sometimes priced higher to allow for a fuller assessment. Herbal medicine prescriptions, if recommended, are usually billed separately and can add S$20–80 per week depending on the formula and duration. Many practices offer package rates for recurring sessions — these can bring the per-session cost down meaningfully for patients on ongoing treatment plans. Confirm whether a no-show or late-cancellation charge applies, as this varies by clinic. GST may apply depending on how the practice is registered. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →
No GP referral is required to visit a TCM practice in Singapore. Your first visit will typically begin with a consultation — expect to complete an intake form covering your medical history, current medications, allergies, and presenting complaint. The practitioner will then conduct a TCM assessment (pulse, tongue, and symptom pattern) before recommending a treatment approach. If you have a complex or chronic condition, or are on prescribed medications, it is advisable to inform both your GP and your TCM practitioner so they can coordinate care and flag any contraindications. A GP referral can also be useful if you intend to claim against a health insurance policy or a Medisave-approved condition — check your insurer's requirements before your first visit.
In Singapore, TCM practitioners must be registered with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registered practitioners are listed on the TCMPB public register at moh.gov.sg, where you can verify a practitioner's name, registration number, and any disciplinary history. No regulatory licence has been recorded for Chen Chi Tow Healthcare in our current data — we recommend confirming the consulting practitioner's TCMPB registration number directly with the clinic before proceeding with treatment. Practising TCM without TCMPB registration is an offence under the TCM Practitioners Act, so this is a straightforward check worth making. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
