About Counselling and Care Centre
Counselling and Care Centre is a counselling service based at Hong Lim Complex, Upper Cross Street, serving clients islandwide. The listing has been verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration or regulatory licences are currently on file. It holds a rating of 3.8 out of 5 across 15 Google reviews — a small sample, so this figure should be treated as directional only. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range level ($$); specific session fees were not provided.
Prospective clients typically begin with a first consultation where the counsellor conducts an intake assessment to understand the presenting concern — whether that is anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, or workplace stress — and discusses a suitable approach and session frequency. It is worth clarifying at the outset whether sessions are individual, couples, or family-based, whether the counsellor's therapeutic orientation (cognitive-behavioural, person-centred, psychodynamic, or integrative) suits your needs, and what the cancellation and rescheduling policy is. If you intend to claim through an insurer or Medisave, confirm eligibility before committing, as reimbursement rules vary by plan and practitioner registration status.
To take the next step, reach out to Counselling and Care Centre via phone or the enquiry form to request an initial appointment and ask directly about session fees, the counsellor's qualifications, and availability.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
I would not recommend taking any courses or seeking supervision from Tony Ong. This place looked professional, but honestly, quite disappointed. Tony humblebrags about his achievements and experience, but really don't know for what. He has a lot of trumpet to blow, but when it comes to actually understanding issues and giving proper guidance, really cannot make it. Conversations feel very fake, like just trying to sound impressive rather than actually helping. Sometimes even downright condescending. Saw his profile say being here gives him the opportunity to live a meaningful life by touching the lives of others. Feels more like he's just boosting his own fake image. A bit mean-spirited about clients and other practitioners also. If this is the best this centre can do for clinical director, then I really wonder about the whole centre. Don't think I will recommend this place to anyone looking for non-judgemental and real support.
I've been a client here for many years, and I continue to see the same wonderful counselor, Steven Soh. The journey to healing requires time and patience, and I'm truly thankful for my counselor's unwavering support. Thank you.
My counsellor was Mr Terence Tan. He is patient, friendly and warm. I have learnt a couple of new perspectives & felt hopeful when I was down after attending several sessions. If you feel stuck and down, head over here to have a conversation with the counsellors :) Don't be shy, be courageous & take the first step which can potentially lead to many wonders :)
I was to attend Counselling with my son and daughter in law I was told that counselling will be futile if there is no common grounds The councillor identified a common ground and arrange for counseling via Zoom when I believe that is is no longer a health requirements. I believe that this was because of my estranged son suggestion supposed to be for the sake of my safety. The councillor also suggest I should allow my son and daughter to make decisions for their son. This is suggesting that I had infringed on their parental authority. He also suggest that I work with the parents to send their son to IMH for them. I had refused because my grandson was faring poorly with Neurosciece Clinic at NUH. There is a court order allowing my grandson to be treated by a doctor he can work with The councillor identi
Thank you to my counsellor for the support!

Specific session fees were not published at the time of this listing. Counselling in Singapore typically runs S$80–200 per 50-minute session at private practices, with community-based or social-service-affiliated centres often offering lower rates or sliding-scale fees depending on household income. Confirm the per-session fee, whether an initial assessment session is priced differently, and whether packages of multiple sessions carry a discount. Also ask about the no-show and late-cancellation policy, as many counsellors charge a partial or full session fee for missed appointments without sufficient notice. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →
Most counselling practices in Singapore do not require a formal GP referral for self-referred adults, though a referral from a polyclinic or specialist can sometimes reduce waiting times and may be necessary if you wish to claim subsidy through a restructured hospital's medical social worker pathway. Expect a brief intake process at the first session — you may be asked to complete a written questionnaire covering your presenting concerns, mental health history, and current support network. If your situation involves significant psychiatric symptoms (such as active psychosis, suicidal ideation, or severe eating disorders), the counsellor may refer you to a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist rather than proceeding with counselling alone. A GP referral is also worth obtaining if you plan to submit a claim to a private insurer, as some policies require a referring doctor's letter to approve mental health reimbursement.
Counselling in Singapore is not yet a statutorily regulated profession in the same way as physiotherapy or TCM, which means there is no single mandatory government licence for all counsellors. The main voluntary professional bodies are the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), which awards the Registered Counsellor (RC) credential, and the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) for psychologists. No regulatory licences were listed for Counselling and Care Centre at the time of this listing. Before booking, ask the counsellor directly for their professional membership (SAC, SPS, or equivalent), highest relevant qualification (diploma, degree, or master's level), and any supervised clinical hours completed. Confirm whether the practitioner practises within a professional code of ethics and carries professional indemnity insurance. Verifying credentials directly with the provider is especially important here given the absence of publicly listed licence information.
