We worked with Alvin for our first home, and we highly recommend him to all our friends! With no prior renovation experience, we’re truly thankful to have had Alvin as our interior designer :) We met several IDs, but Alvin stood out with his positive attitude, friendly personality, and thoughtful advice on both design and feasibility. We gave him a simple brief and a moodboard, with key requirements: sufficient storage, a bright and white minimalist style. Alvin went above and beyond, providing us with a design rendering that not only met our requirements but also added thoughtful design elements—like the curved living room display and dry pantry area that elevated the overall look. He even came up with creative solutions for our special requests, such as installing a water dispenser in the dry pantry area without a water outlet. It was clear that Alvin put in the effort to truly understand our needs and preferences, we barely had to make any changes to the first rendering. Alvin is also extremely meticulous. Before renovation began, he personally inspected our unit and spotted major issues that even our professional defect checker missed. For example, he identified three different shades of white tiles in the living room and immediately raised the issue with the BSC team for rectification. Another quality we appreciate is his honesty. He never pushed us to overspend unnecessarily and always tailored his suggestions to suit our needs and budget. Alvin also helped coordinate with our external contractor for marble gum flooring to ensure everything stayed on schedule. He even got his contractors to assist with our Taobao item installations in the service yard and bathrooms. Whenever issues arose, Alvin was upfront and responsive, always offering solutions quickly and clearly. He was consistently timely in his responses and patiently gave us advice, even on things outside his scope, like which sofa or dining table to buy. We’re so grateful to have had Alvin as our first ID, and we’ll definitely engage him again for our next home! Thank you for giving us a smooth, regret-free renovation experience and helping us create the first home of our dreams. Our first renovation journey was happy, seamless, and smooth —thanks to you. Even small things like painting touch up he will come down to site to oversee and make sure everything is up to standard. We engaged Alvin as our interior designer for our first home and we highly recommend him. Alvin was recommended to us by our friend Wei Sheng (you can see his google review if you scroll down further), and we decided to engage him after meeting with 4 other IDs from other companies beforehand. During our first meeting with Alvin, we realized that he was completely different from the other 4 IDs we met earlier. He is very honest, upfront, and a very pleasant person to discuss our home design ideas with. He was very open-minded to our needs and was able to meet our budget, and he never tried to hard-sell or upsell us anything that we didn't need. He also made very good design recommendations that have proved to become extremely useful in our daily lives! (eg. the built-in door/shoe storage/mirror that masks our bomb shelter door) One big point which sealed the deal for me was how detailed, clear, and accurate his quote was. This is something very important to me (to avoid disputes down the road), and something that I found the other IDs were quite bad at doing. When showing us the 3D design, we found that he has a good eye for choosing colours that suited the vibe we wanted. He also planned the space in our small flat very well. During the first defect inspection, Alvin came personally to highlight things that we didn't notice (eg. misaligned DB box cupboard covers, slanted walls and ceiling beams) and we are very thankful for his help on this! (we didn't need to hire any defect checkers separately) When the interior works began, Alvin always kept us informed about the schedule of works and whether any delays were to be expected. We didn't have to worry too much about the progress of our home throughout the 2-3 months of renovation. The workmanship of his contractors is good. We also appreciate how Alvin would remind the contractors not to smoke in our house (we haaaaaatee smoke) We would like to give a big thanks to Alvin for going the extra mile to speed up our renovation works as we were in a rush to move into our new home. He worked very well with his team of contractors to finish most of the major carpentry works as quickly as possible so that we could shift in early. After that, he also helped us to expedite the remaining works so that they were done as soon as possible. Thank you so much!! :) (and we are really sorry for rushing you so much T_T) Alvin also made the extra effort to coordinate his contractors' works with some independent contractors we hired, and advise us to tell them when they could install their items (eg. Ziptrak blackout blinds and Magnetite noise reduction windows for the bedroom) so that the installation could go smoothly. After we moved in, Alvin also helped us with some post-reno issues such as the fixing the paint and laminates that got chipped by people moving in furniture for us, and answering any questions we had post-reno. We would highly recommend Alvin as an ID if you are looking for one! And we hope Alvin's boss gives him a nice raise for his consistently good work, haha :D Look at the pictures to see my kumas in their new home now! The display cabinet looks even better irl ^^
