About Covenant Family Service Centre

About Covenant Family Service Centre

Covenant Family Service Centre offers counselling services at its Hougang location, with coverage across Singapore. The listing has been verified by KakiList, meaning a real person confirmed operating details and contact channel. It holds a 3.7 out of 5 rating across 23 Google reviews — a modest sample size, so treat this as directional rather than definitive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though a specific per-session rate has not been published.

Parents, couples, and individuals seeking counselling would typically begin by reaching out via phone or the contact form to describe the concern — whether it relates to family conflict, marital difficulties, grief, parenting stress, or individual mental health — and to enquire about the counsellor's availability and approach. It is worth confirming in advance whether sessions are individual, couple-based, or family-based, and what the first appointment involves. Ask whether there is an intake assessment, how many sessions are typically recommended for your presenting concern, and whether the counsellor holds relevant accreditation (such as registration with the Singapore Association for Counselling or the SAC). Clarify the cancellation and rescheduling policy before your first visit.

To get started, contact Covenant Family Service Centre by phone or via the enquiry form to arrange an initial consultation at the Hougang Ave 8 centre.

Wanted to call MSW Paul that as he has taken up the case to help my needy neighbor, it has been close to two month already, and hopefully he is still following up the case. She has tried to call few times but he was not available and was told he was on leave. I hope he can at least keep her updated of the progress of the situation. I understand thathe may have many cases to follow up but I am very concerned about my neighbor and hope at least some professional advise be given to her. Thank u

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Covenant Family Service Centre charge per session?

Covenant Family Service Centre indicates mid-range pricing ($$), but a specific per-session rate has not been published on this listing. Counselling fees in Singapore typically range from S$80 to S$200 per session at private or social-service centres, with some family service centres offering sliding-scale fees based on household income. Before your first appointment, confirm the per-session rate, whether an intake assessment carries a separate charge, and whether a package or bundled pricing is available for ongoing work. Ask about the cancellation policy, as missed appointments are often billed at the full session rate. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Most counselling centres, including family service centres, do not require a formal GP referral to book a session — you can contact Covenant Family Service Centre directly by phone or via the enquiry form. That said, an intake assessment or initial consultation is standard: the counsellor will gather background on the presenting concern, personal and family history, and goals before agreeing on a treatment approach. If you plan to claim counselling costs under an employer's Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), a medical insurance rider, or MediFund assistance (for those meeting income criteria), a GP referral letter or formal diagnostic document may be required by the insurer or scheme administrator. Clarify this before your first appointment to avoid an uncovered bill.

Is the practitioner licensed?

No regulatory licences are currently listed for Covenant Family Service Centre on this directory. Counselling in Singapore does not yet operate under a mandatory statutory licensing regime in the same way as physiotherapy or TCM, but the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) maintains a voluntary register of accredited counsellors — registration signals adherence to a code of ethics and minimum training standards. Before booking, ask the centre to confirm the counsellor's qualifications (typically a postgraduate diploma or masters in counselling or psychology), SAC registration status, and the number of supervised hours completed. If your concern involves a clinical mental health condition, also ask whether the practitioner has experience with that specific presentation. You can verify SAC-registered counsellors on the SAC website.
