About Da Shi Jia Catering

About Da Shi Jia Catering

Da Shi Jia Catering is a meal delivery service for seniors, operating islandwide from its base at 89 Killiney Road. It is KakiList-verified, and its 4.1-star rating across 1,489 Google reviews represents a robust sample that lends reasonable weight to the score. No ACRA registration has been confirmed for this listing, and no regulatory licences are on record.

For families considering meal delivery for an elderly parent or relative, the typical starting point is to assess the senior's dietary requirements — including any medical conditions such as diabetes, low-sodium needs, or swallowing difficulties — and confirm whether Da Shi Jia Catering's menu options accommodate these. Enquire about portion sizes, frequency of delivery (daily, weekday-only, or customised), whether meals are delivered hot or chilled, and how packaging handles reheating. It is worth clarifying the delivery window and whether someone needs to be present at home to receive each meal, particularly for seniors living alone.

To get started, reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to confirm current menu options, pricing, delivery schedules for your area, and any minimum order requirements before committing to a regular arrangement.

If you’re a prawn noodle lover, this place is definitely worth a visit. The prawn broth is rich, fragrant, and full of depth – every sip is packed with natural sweetness from the prawns. The prawns are fresh, plump, and perfectly cooked. We ordered the soup noodles and the mixed rice vermicelli, and both were excellent. The mixed rice vermicelli has a light and smooth texture, soaking up the rich prawn broth without feeling heavy. The soup version is comforting and full of umami, making it very satisfying. The toppings are generous, including large prawns, pork slices, and crispy fried shallots that add great aroma and texture. Portions are good, ingredients are fresh, and the overall quality makes it worth the visit. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a hearty and authentic bowl of prawn noodles in Singapore!

This is the place to go for prawn noodles. What really sets it apart is how customisable everything is—you can choose the size of the prawns, the type of noodles, and all the add-ons to build your perfect bowl. The prawns were impressively large, incredibly fresh, and cooked just right—juicy, sweet, and succulent with a satisfying bite. Each mouthful felt indulgent and well worth it. Don’t skip the beancurd skin prawn roll either. It was fried to absolute perfection: beautifully crisp on the outside, packed with flavour on the inside, and not oily at all, which made it dangerously easy to finish in one sitting. To round off the meal, the fresh lime juice with sour plum was the perfect refresher. Bright, tangy, and just the right balance of sour and sweet, it cut through the richness of the food and left the palate feeling refreshed. Overall, a highly satisfying meal with quality ingredients, generous portions, and thoughtful execution. Definitely a spot I’d return to when craving a really good bowl of prawn noodles.

If you’re looking for an affordable Michelin Bib Gourmand meal right on Orchard Road — this is it! One of my most memorable meals lately. Every dish we ordered was genuinely delicious. We had: 🍤 Stir-fried Big Prawns with Rice Vermicelli — a huge portion with serious wok hei! The prawns stand tall with an impressive presentation, the broth-soaked vermicelli is savoury and fragrant, and there’s even tender pork ribs hidden inside. So appetizing! 🍤 Traditional Prawn Mee Combo - packed with premium toppings: big prawns, clams, prawn paste, pork patty, fish cake, pork ribs, sliced pork… everything in one bowl. 🍤 Crispy Beancurd Prawn Roll - handmade and packed with REAL shrimp meat. 🧃 Apple Sour Plum Juice - surprisingly good! Fresh apple juice with salted plum, refreshing, tangy and addictive. Heads-up! Expect queues during peak hours! An absolute must-try for prawn lovers and visitors looking for authentic local food that’s Michelin-recognised without the hefty price tag! Will definitely return. ⭐️

The food is up to my expectation! I have ordered (1) Wok-Fried Big Prawn White Bee Hoon — $19.40 - 🔥 The true signature dish! The noodles are soaked in a rich prawn broth, every bite bursting with flavour. It has that perfect wok-hei aroma without being oily. Prawns are huge, fresh, and naturally sweet — no wonder this is everyone’s top recommendation! (2) Crispy Shrimps — $9.60 - Crispy on the outside, tender inside — super addictive! Fried to a golden crunch without thick batter. You get both the crispiness and the fresh shrimp flavour. Perfect snack to share… though you might finish it before you know it. (3)Green Apple Juice with Sour Plum — $4.10- The perfect pairing with seafood! Refreshing, tangy, slightly salty from the sour plum — it cuts through the richness and resets your palate instantly. After a few bites of the bee hoon, this drink hits the spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Da Shi Jia Catering charge?

Da Shi Jia Catering uses a '$$' price indicator, but specific per-meal or monthly package figures are not publicly listed. Senior meal delivery services in Singapore typically range from S$6–15 per meal depending on portion size, dietary specification, and delivery frequency. Monthly packages for daily delivery can run S$400–900 or more. When enquiring, confirm the full cost picture: per-meal rate versus bundle pricing, any delivery surcharge for your postal district, and whether there is a minimum order commitment. Ask whether public holiday deliveries are included or suspended, as this affects families who depend on the service daily. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does Da Shi Jia Catering offer?

Da Shi Jia Catering is a meal delivery service, not a caregiving placement service, so it does not offer live-in or visit-based personal care. Its scope is the preparation and islandwide delivery of meals suitable for seniors. Families who need both meal support and hands-on personal care — assistance with bathing, mobility, medication reminders, or companionship — will need to arrange caregiving separately through a home care agency or day care centre. Da Shi Jia Catering can form one part of a broader care arrangement, covering nutrition, while other providers address personal care needs.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

As a catering and meal delivery operation, Da Shi Jia Catering does not employ caregivers, so caregiver certification and insurance are not applicable here. The relevant questions for a meal delivery provider are food hygiene and safety standards instead. No regulatory licences — such as an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence — are listed in Da Shi Jia Catering's current profile on KakiList. Before committing to a regular order, it is advisable to ask directly about their SFA licence status and kitchen hygiene grade, as well as their protocol if a delivery is missed or a meal arrives in unsatisfactory condition.
