If you are considering counselling, the usual first step is a phone call or form submission to enquire about availability and the presenting concern — whether that is anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, work stress, or another area. The first session typically involves an intake assessment where the practitioner gathers background, discusses your goals, and outlines an approach. Subsequent sessions may be offered on a per-session basis or as part of a structured package, depending on the nature of the work. It is worth confirming session frequency, estimated duration of engagement, and the cancellation policy before you begin.
To make an enquiry, contact Dr BL Lim Centre for Psychological Wellness by phone or through the contact form, and ask about current appointment availability, session fees, and the intake process.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
Dr. Lim is simply outstanding. He’s meticulous to the core, yet so reassuring. His approach is one-of-a-kind—he truly listens, draws out valuable insights, and makes you feel completely at ease. You can tell his process is shaped by deep experience, every consultation is intentional. He carefully connected my story to a strategy that’s been a game-changer for my ADHD. Every recommendation has been on point. I wholeheartedly recommend him!
Dr Lim helped me diagnose my ADHD and guided me through the first steps of understanding and managing it with great empathy and professionalism. I truly appreciated the way he listened and explained things clearly, making the whole process much less overwhelming. I would also like to thank the clinic staff, who are always kind, responsive, and helpful in accommodating appointments and supporting my requests. Their professionalism makes every visit smooth and pleasant.
Throughout my time with Dr. Lim, it appears that he has a severe lack of empathy and viewed me as my illness rather than human first. My concerns were not being heard and he never once asked me what’s my goal or cared to take my quality of life into consideration. It’s as if the minute you step into the consultation room, he’s only thinking about how much of his time you’re wasting despite paying extra for every 15 mins block—multiple times he never let me have space to think and would rather shoo me out just so he can attend to other patients (also, be prepared to wait long here). This behaviour is simply straight up insensitive and it doesn’t make sense to me too because if he truly doesn’t want patients to wait then why is the waiting time still long despite rushing sessions? He also never let me have much of a say in terms of treatment, like it’s his opinion only matters here. The final nail in the coffin was when he told me to try taking supplements for my condition. I’m here for psychiatric care, not nutrition deficiency. My case was also overcomplicated by him as he piled on diagnosis after diagnosis which led him to admit that my case was tricky, but he also didn’t think to refer me to another psychiatrist who might have more experience. What’s the point in being honest but still insisting on handling my care? Just for the money? Went to seek a second opinion and eventually had a very simple care plan laid out for me within the first 45 minutes with plenty of assurances that while it may be hard, she will try her best. I heavily regret spending on multiple sessions with Dr. Lim when it was never even that complicated to begin with—he just decided to make it be and then doesn’t want to make the effort. In the duration I’ve been seeing him, it was more distressful than helpful. Wouldn’t even give one star if possible.
I have been seeing Dr Lim for the past year and I have had only great experiences. The dr is very helpful and kind. He was always sensitive about my issues and felt very comfortable opening up to him. The staff at the front desk was also very nice, friendly and helpful. Very recommend.
I had a really positive experience with Dr Lim. He is extremely patient and took the time to listen to everything I had to say without rushing me. I felt very comfortable throughout the consultations, which makes a huge difference. The advice he gives is very practical and realistic, which is important to me and shows his genuine care.

Session fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the centre. For context, private counselling and psychological wellness services in Singapore typically run S$120–300 per session depending on the practitioner's qualifications, the nature of the presenting concern, and whether the session is an initial assessment or an ongoing appointment. Some practices offer packaged rates for a fixed number of sessions, which may reduce the per-session cost. Ask at enquiry whether a first consultation fee applies, what the standard session rate is, and whether packages are available. Also confirm whether a no-show or late-cancellation fee applies. A GP referral is not strictly required to book a private counselling appointment, though some clients arrive with a referral letter from their family doctor or a polyclinic. A referral can be helpful if you intend to make an insurance claim, as some integrated shield plans require one for mental health consultations. The first visit typically begins with an intake assessment — you will likely complete a brief intake form covering your background, current concerns, and any relevant medical or psychiatric history. This allows the practitioner to confirm that the presenting issue is within scope and to outline an appropriate approach. If your situation involves more complex psychiatric needs, the centre may coordinate with or refer to a psychiatrist.
Counsellors and psychologists in Singapore may be registered with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or accredited by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). Clinical psychologists who are also healthcare professionals may hold registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). It is worth asking directly which professional body the practitioner is registered with and for the registration number, so you can verify it on the relevant public register before your first session. No regulatory licences are currently listed for this provider on KakiList. Confirm the practitioner's credentials, professional indemnity insurance, and registration status directly with the centre before committing to treatment. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
