Initial hiring of a maid was overall quite smooth, agent was responsive and efficient. Got a transfer maid who only lasted 2 months at previous employer's house, as I wanted someone with some experience taking care of bedbound elderly. Agent told me reason maid was returned as ex-employer was OCD, and that the maid can work well. Little did I know it was the start of a bunch of problems that are mostly seen with new maids (things are still dirty after cleaning, lack of hygiene sense & basic observation skills, knocking/dropping things around the house almost everyday, damaging items, recording videos around the house, extremely forgetful/careless), not sure how this means "can do work well", when the things she damaged totalled >$1.4K so far. While agent did try several times to talk to the maid, they eventually gave up, saying it's hopeless (when I asked them to provide retraining to the maid). No effort was made to help find a replacement maid despite my request (cons). So I'm stuck with a problematic maid that adds financial and emotional stress to me. Later I found out no training was ever given to the maid (no wonder there was no difference from me training a new maid from scratch). 5 months in, I was still on high stress; by 6months, still had to constantly check her inconsistent work, make sure she does them properly, and not spoil our property. Agent remains polite throughout, but do not expect much regarding after-sales service such as retraining or effort in replacement.
