About Food from the Heart

About Food from the Heart

Food from the Heart is a Singapore-based meal delivery service for seniors, operating islandwide from its premises at 130 Joo Seng Road. The listing is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. It holds a 4.5/5 rating across 94 Google reviews, a moderate sample that provides reasonable directional confidence. No regulatory licences are recorded on this listing; as meal delivery to seniors can involve clinical or care-coordination components, families should confirm directly with Food from the Heart which specific services are in scope and whether any AIC or MOH registration applies.

When enquiring, families should clarify the type of meals offered, dietary requirements (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, soft or pureed diets for those with swallowing difficulties), delivery frequency, and whether a care assessment is required before onboarding. It is worth confirming whether the service is purely meal delivery or whether it extends to welfare checks or social companionship during drop-off, as some senior meal programmes include both. Discuss the elder's mobility, medical conditions, and any specific nutritional guidance from a doctor or dietitian to ensure the meals are appropriate.

To take the next step, contact Food from the Heart by phone or via the online enquiry form to confirm meal options, coverage for your specific address, delivery schedule, and pricing before committing to a regular arrangement.

I think charity donations should be done willingly and volunteers can use a more appropriate and polite approach. The behaviour of the staff at Yew Tee MRT at 1830H was extremely inappropriate as noted they were shouting at passerby to donate and following closely behind them. Not that I want to shame any organisation but basic ethics should be observed regardless of whatever cause you are promoting. I hope that this message reaches management and that training for volunteer staff is improved upon.

While volunteering in deliver the food to the needed families. I was wondering how does the family being selected as require support? I mean is feel good to help others, this I confess but condition I see puzzle me, how does a family consider require support? Is there any checks or just apply and provide documents can already?

As part of our CSR activities, we decided to make our way down to FFTH. The place is very well run, our host was really pleasant and it’s air conditioned! We were shown a short video and then we were trained to form a little production line and after a little training, it was up to us to help gather and pack groceries into 100 individual bags! It was back breaking but it was for a good cause! Well worth it!

Volunteered at Food from the Heart yesterday and it was an extremely wonderful experience. The flow is very systematic and the staff / permanent volunteers there are very friendly and approachable. We were demonstrated on what we need to do so that we were not lost or clueless. The place is very welcoming and appreciative. Definitely going back there again to volunteer my time and effort.

Came here as part of my company’s volunteer program. First time coming to this food distribution charity. It was pretty easy to locate as it was only a 10 minute easy walk from Tai Seng MRT station. When we first arrived, we were introduced to the company with a simple introductory corporate video introducing about the charity and who it provides for. Thereafter, the program leader for our time slot informed us what exactly to do. To put labels on all the designated food items which has been accounted for for the number of recipients, and after that to pack up the items. It was very systematic and well organized. The program leader was also there for the whole duration of the volunteer session to ensure the items were packed properly and placed them neatly at the pallet for further distribution. After all the food was packed up, the staff ensured it was packed up for further transportation for the distribution to the recipients at their location. The organization style was impeccable and the space for the food storage was very clean indeed. I would definitely look forward to my next volunteer visit to Food from the Heart.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Food from the Heart charge?

Pricing is not publicly listed for Food from the Heart, and the service is indicated at a mid-range price point ($$). Meal delivery programmes for seniors in Singapore vary considerably depending on meal type, frequency, and whether the service is subsidised through a social service agency or government scheme. Before signing up, confirm the per-meal or daily rate, any minimum order commitment, delivery surcharges for outlying areas, and whether there is a registration or admin fee. Ask whether public holiday delivery is available and if so, whether it carries a surcharge. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does Food from the Heart offer?

Food from the Heart is a meal delivery service rather than a live-in or visit-based caregiving arrangement. The service delivers meals to seniors at home, which can complement — but does not replace — personal care, medical supervision, or companionship services provided by a caregiver or home nurse. Families who need broader support beyond meals — such as personal hygiene assistance, medication reminders, or nursing care — should engage a separate home care provider registered with AIC or MOH. Food from the Heart's meal delivery can be layered alongside such arrangements as part of a wider care plan. Confirm the delivery schedule, whether someone needs to be home to receive meals, and what happens if a delivery is missed or the elder is temporarily hospitalised.

Is the service trained and insured?

No regulatory licences are recorded on this listing for Food from the Heart. If the service includes welfare checks or any form of care interaction beyond food drop-off, families should ask whether the delivery staff have undergone dementia awareness training or elder-care sensitisation, as this affects the quality of interaction with vulnerable seniors. For the food preparation side, confirm whether the kitchen holds an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence and what hygiene grade has been assigned. This is particularly relevant if meals are prepared fresh rather than supplied from a central kitchen. Insist on a trial period and put the delivery schedule, meal types, and rate in writing before committing to a regular arrangement.
