Had high expectations of this place to do cupping. The advertised 15 minute cupping was only 5 minutes with the cups. When asked why only 5 minutes, they replied and lie on your face saying it was 10 minutes. Had a watch on. They think people cannot tell time. UPDATED: After seeing this review, G&G TCM quickly contacted us about our concerns and they acknowledged that they had been wrong regarding the time length of our cupping. They offered us the following two options: 1. Return for a complimentary cupping session 2. Receive a full refund We chose option 2 and therefore we are upgrading our review to 3 STARS from 2 STARS. We find that ALL businesses should be responsible and transparent on their services at ALL times and not after their clients write a review. Hope this is a lesson to be learned.

Went to G&G at Smith Street for a tuina massage and was attended by Mr Alan. He’s pleasant, well-groomed, and speaks conversational English, which made the session comfortable. The tuina massage was quite strong—definitely firm but still bearable, and it felt really good afterwards. The massage covered everything from my neck all the way down to my feet. There was some stretching and cracking towards the end, which helped me feel very relieved. Overall, the massage was exceptionally good, especially with the promotional price of $88 for an hour. I’ll definitely be back and might try combining the foot massage with tuina next time. Mr Alan, thank you for the great massage session.

国医堂 G&G TCM Medical Pte Ltd, located on Smith Street in the heart of Singapore, is a well-established traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic that has been serving the community for many years. Known for its commitment to providing high-quality, personalized care, the clinic offers a comprehensive range of TCM services to address a wide variety of health concerns. I've been going to 国医堂 for a while now, and I can't recommend them enough. I've even sent a few friends their way, and they've all had great experiences. I've had a particularly positive experience with Dr. Edward Chow, who's stationed at the new outlet on Smith Street. On one occasion, my son had a stiff neck after sleeping on a stiff pillow, and he was immediately cured by Dr. Chow. Dr. Chow is not only a skilled physician, but also a good friend. We've been motorcycle riding buddies since 2016, and he's always been a kind and helpful guy. I was lucky to be able to see Edward today, as it's Christmas Day and he doesn't usually work on public holidays. Recently, Kitty had back pain and was struggling to find relief. She had visited several other practitioners, but with no success. I recommended 国医堂 to her, knowing they had a good reputation and that many of my friends had positive experiences there. I was particularly excited to tell her about the new outlet on Smith Street, where my good friend Dr. Edward Chow is stationed. He's also one of the top 10 Chinese physicians in Singapore, which is a testament to his skills. Kitty went for a consultation and received acupuncture and therapy. She mentioned that she saw significant results, and she was impressed with the new outlet. I also took some pictures of the place. The first floor is for consultations and therapy, the second floor is dedicated to foot and body massage, and the third floor is a VIP room. The whole place is nicely renovated and very cozy and welcoming—you really feel relaxed in this space. It's usually fully packed and you need to make appointments days in advance to get a slot, but luckily, since it was Christmas Day, we were able to walk in without an appointment. I'm happy to report that she's feeling much better after her visit. The doctors at 国医堂 are clearly experts in their field, and they take a personalized approach to treatment. While the prices are slightly higher than some other practitioners, the therapy is efficient and effective, so I think it's worth it. The consultation fee is $25, acupuncture is $70, and the Meridian Repair Instrument (which requires practitioner guidance) is $30 for a 15-minute session. I'm so grateful for their help.

I was experiencing significant shoulder pain and received substantial relief after undergoing acupuncture and a hot electrical stimulation treatment to relax the muscles around my shoulder blade. I would like to express my appreciation to Juliet for her professionalism throughout the treatment process. A special thank you as well to Mr. Chow — his expertise made a remarkable difference, and the treatment he performed effectively relieved both my pain and tension. I am sincerely grateful for the care and skill demonstrated.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does G&G TCM Clinic charge per session?

TCM consultation fees in Singapore typically range from S$30–80 for the initial assessment, with acupuncture or tui na sessions running S$50–120 depending on treatment complexity and duration. Herbal prescriptions are usually billed separately, ranging from S$20–80 per week's supply depending on the formula. G&G TCM Clinic uses a mid-range pricing indicator, though specific session rates are not published — confirm the exact fee before your first visit. Some practices offer package discounts for recurring treatment courses (for example, 6 or 10 sessions billed together at a reduced per-session rate). Ask whether a first-consultation rate applies separately from treatment fees, and whether packages are transferable or have an expiry window. GST applies to services at GST-registered providers. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No referral is required to book a TCM consultation at G&G TCM Clinic — most patients self-refer based on symptoms. At the first visit, expect to complete an intake form covering medical history, current medications, allergies, and presenting complaints. The practitioner will conduct a holistic diagnostic assessment including tongue observation, pulse reading, and symptom inquiry before recommending a course of treatment. If you have a complex or chronic condition — such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy, or a bleeding disorder — inform the clinic in advance, as certain modalities (particularly acupuncture and cupping) carry contraindications. A GP referral letter, while not mandatory, can be helpful if you plan to submit claims through an integrated shield plan or corporate health insurance, as some insurers require it for TCM reimbursement.

Is the practitioner at G&G TCM Clinic licensed?

In Singapore, TCM practitioners are regulated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registered practitioners hold a valid TCMPB registration, which is searchable on the TCMPB's public directory at moh.gov.sg. Registration covers specific scopes of practice — acupuncture requires a separate registration from TCM general practice and herbal prescription. No regulatory licence information has been provided for G&G TCM Clinic in this listing. Before booking, ask directly for the treating practitioner's full name and TCMPB registration number, then verify it on the public register. This is standard due diligence for any TCM provider, regardless of reviews or reputation. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the TCMPB public register before treatment.
