About Great Helpers

About Great Helpers

Great Helpers is a domestic help agency offering maid placement services from its Holland Avenue office, operating islandwide across Singapore. KakiList has verified the operating details and contact channel. With only 2 Google reviews at a rating of 3/5, there is insufficient review data to draw meaningful conclusions about service quality, and prospective clients should treat that signal with caution.

When working with a maid agency, the typical process begins with discussing your household's needs — number of occupants, elderly or children in the home, language preferences, and nationality of helper — before the agency presents suitable candidates. You will want to confirm the placement fee upfront (new-hire placements typically run S$1,500–3,500; transfer helpers are generally less), the helper's monthly salary (S$550–800 depending on nationality and experience), and the monthly MOM levy (S$300 standard, or the concessionary rate of S$60 if your household has a child under 16, an elderly member aged 67 or above, or a person with disability). Clarify what is bundled into the fee — mandatory FDW insurance, the Settling-In Programme, medical examination, and Work Permit application — and what is billed separately. Ask about the replacement guarantee window and the process if the placement does not work out.

Contact Great Helpers by phone or via the enquiry form on their listing to discuss your household requirements and request a full written breakdown of fees before proceeding.

Very disappointed with the service. The MOM website stated clearly "Q) Must the employer pay the salary of their MDW when she is on overseas leave? No, the employer need not do so unless this is provided for in the employment contract." The agency insisting that I need to follow the Indonesia embassy law. Asked around in the Facebook page and everyone say don't need because we are in Singapore. Message the agent and she say she will get MOM to call me and clarified this. After so many months, no one from MOM call me at all. We pay you for a service, we are your client. Yet you go around and try to cheat your client and make up your stories that is not align with the MOM guide lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Great Helpers charge?

Placement fees at maid agencies typically range from S$1,500 to S$3,500 for a new-hire helper, or S$500 to S$1,500 for a transfer helper already in Singapore. Great Helpers has not published its specific fee schedule, so you should request a written breakdown before committing. Beyond the placement fee, factor in the helper's monthly salary (S$550–800 depending on nationality and experience) and the monthly MOM levy — S$300 at the standard rate, or S$60 at the concessionary rate for households with a child under 16, an elderly member aged 67 or above, or a person with disability. Confirm whether mandatory FDW insurance (~S$300–600 per year), the Settling-In Programme, medical exam, and Work Permit application are bundled or billed separately. Is Great Helpers MOM-licensed?

Every legitimate maid agency in Singapore must hold a MOM Employment Agency (EA) Licence, which is verifiable by name or licence number on MOM's online EA directory. No EA licence is recorded for Great Helpers in the information available on this listing, which is a material gap — you should ask the agency directly for its licence number and cross-check it on the MOM directory before paying any deposit. The EA Grading system (A+ to C) is also worth checking; higher grades reflect stronger compliance and complaint-handling records. Engaging an unlicensed agent is illegal, leaves you with no recourse if the placement fails or the agency closes, and can void your FDW insurance. Verify the licence number on MOM's EA directory at mom.gov.sg before proceeding.

What replacement guarantee does Great Helpers offer?

A standard replacement guarantee typically covers a window of around six months from the helper's arrival date, with one or more free replacements if the placement proves unsuitable. Great Helpers has not published its specific replacement terms, so you should ask in writing what triggers a valid replacement claim, how many replacements are included, and what voids the guarantee. Also clarify the early-termination process should the placement break down outside the guarantee window — the household is responsible for the helper's repatriation flight, Work Permit cancellation, and any unused levy refund. These costs can add up, so understanding them before signing is important. Request the full agency contract and read the replacement, refund, and early-termination clauses carefully before paying.
