New patients typically begin with a first consultation where the TCM practitioner conducts a tongue and pulse assessment, takes a health history, and identifies the presenting condition — whether musculoskeletal pain, digestive issues, stress, fertility support, skin conditions, or general wellness maintenance. Treatment may involve acupuncture, herbal medication, tui na, cupping, or a combination, depending on the diagnosis. Patients should clarify whether they are starting a one-off session or a recurring treatment course, confirm the cancellation policy, and ask about any contraindications relevant to their condition or existing medications before commencing care.
To get started, contact Guo An Tang TCM Clinic via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to book a first consultation and confirm current appointment availability.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the TCMPB public register before treatment.

TCM consultation fees in Singapore typically start at S$30–60 for the initial assessment, with treatment costs added on top — acupuncture sessions commonly run S$50–120, tui na S$50–100, and herbal prescriptions S$20–80 or more depending on the formula and duration of the course. Package pricing for recurring treatment courses is common and often works out lower per session than pay-as-you-go rates. Confirm the full per-session cost, what the initial consultation covers, and whether a package commitment is required before your first visit. Ask about the no-show and cancellation policy, as missed appointments on prepaid packages may not always be refunded. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →
No referral is required to visit a TCM clinic — you can book a first consultation directly. On arrival, expect to complete a health history intake form covering your current symptoms, existing medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle factors. The practitioner will then conduct a tongue and pulse assessment as part of the TCM diagnostic process before recommending a treatment plan. For complex or chronic conditions, bringing any recent blood test results, imaging reports, or specialist letters can help the practitioner understand your full picture. If you intend to claim the consultation under an insurance plan or corporate benefits, check in advance whether your insurer requires a GP referral, as requirements vary by policy.
TCM practitioners in Singapore are regulated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registered practitioners must hold a TCMPB licence to legally perform acupuncture, dispense Chinese proprietary medicines, and provide other regulated TCM services. You can verify a practitioner's registration by name on the TCMPB public register at the MOH website before your appointment. Note that Guo An Tang TCM Clinic does not currently list specific regulatory licences on its KakiList profile. It is advisable to confirm the consulting practitioner's TCMPB registration number directly with the clinic before commencing treatment, particularly if acupuncture is involved.
