New patients typically begin with a first consultation during which the physician conducts a TCM assessment — this may include pulse diagnosis, tongue observation, and a review of presenting symptoms and medical history. From there, a treatment plan is recommended, which might involve acupuncture, herbal prescription, tui na, or a combination depending on the condition and individual goals. Recurring sessions or a package may be offered for ongoing management. It is worth confirming the clinic's approach to your specific condition before booking, as well as any contraindications, cancellation policy, and whether a physician with relevant specialisation will be attending.

Dr Li Zhuojian treatment is unquestionably of the highest caliber. Today last minute appointment for my 3 year old daughter dislocated her elbow which we don't even know how it happened since she did not have any fall. Due to urgency we visit clinic without making reasonable timeline an appointment out of necessity, and Dr Lee takes care of my girl without issue & he assisted to support fixing the elbow dislocation. After a sobbing of 2days, my girl is now happy again after two hours out from clinic. Truly value Dr Lee outstanding assistance, and we are incredibly appreciative with the Bukit Merah ABC Branch - clinic assistant support for on this necessary urgent arrangement.

No formal referral is required to visit a TCM clinic. At Guo Yi Tang Chinese Physician, your first visit will typically begin with an intake assessment — the physician will ask about your current symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and wellness goals before proceeding with any treatment. If you have a complex or chronic condition, it is advisable to bring any relevant medical reports or specialist letters, as these help the physician understand your full picture and avoid contraindications. For insurance reimbursement purposes, some policies require a GP referral or a specific diagnosis code — check with your insurer before booking if this applies to you.
