About Home Renovation Contractor Singapore

Home renovation in SG is both exciting and daunting. Seasoned contractor helping homeowners choose the right partner.

Homeowners contacting Home Renovation Contractor Singapore typically ask about Interior Design. The team positions itself as a working home services outfit rather than a generalist, so you can expect questions about scope, access, and timing before a quote is confirmed.

The business is KakiList-verified, meaning a real person has confirmed the operating details and contact channel. Getting my first home was exciting, but also overwhelming. I wasn’t sure where to start with renovation, especially since it’s a big-ticket expense and my budget was limited — not a lot, but reasonable. Reputable interior designers were out of my price range, so I decided to go with a contractor instead, knowing that choosing an honest and reliable one can really be a matter of luck due to the mixed reviews out there. I eventually came across Hong Fatt Heng Renovation, and after doing some research, I found that they have been well established in the market for over 30 years. That gave me some confidence. I was assigned a project manager named Alvin, a young chap, and from the start, he was very patient and transparent. I was quite skeptical initially and very conscious of my tight budget. Alvin was honest and upfront — he even said that no one in the market can deliver 100% perfect results, but he would ensure the outcome would be at least 99% as close as what the client wants. At first, I thought it was just sales talk, but as the renovation progressed, his actions proved otherwise. The work was done well, and whenever there were issues with subcontractors, Alvin followed up closely to get them rectified. The touch-ups were handled properly despite his tight schedule. What stood out most was his dedication — he even personally came down to clean and mop the place at the last minute because I was rushing to receive my bed delivery, which had a fixed installation date. Overall, Alvin is a very down-to-earth person who takes pride in his work and does things with genuine passion. He’s not the type who brushes off issues with excuses like “it’s like that, cannot help it.” Based on what I experienced, I feel this company delivers good and honest work, especially for homeowners looking for simple renovations within a reasonable budget.

I entrusted my first home renovation to Aaron from HFH, and the experience was smooth from start to finish. He patiently walked through my countless design ideas and offered clear, practical advice throughout. During the renovation process, Aaron was prompt, professional, and always receptive to feedback. Although he is not an ID, he provided thoughtful design suggestions - such as recommending a curved profile for my AC box-up to better blend with the overall design. Working with Aaron was a breeze, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable contractor who goes the extra mile to enhance your dream space.

Billy was really wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. He was always prompt in his replies and took the time to patiently explain things to us. Beyond just responding to our questions, he also offered many practical and thoughtful tips on the carpentry details and overall layout of our house, helping us make better decisions. His experience and willingness to share made the whole experience smooth and reassuring, and we truly appreciated his professionalism and support.

“Wah, who is your ID?” — that’s the question everyone who has visited our newly renovated home has asked. Our answer? “We did not have an ID.” If you need the assurance of fancy, out-of-this-world renderings (from impossible-to-view angles) while hoping the actual workmanship turns out acceptable, then yes—go with an ID. But after our first home renovation, we decided to try something different. For our first place, we worked with an ID whose work was plastered across magazines. But during the project, he was almost impossible to contact. We had no clear confirmations on timelines, long stretches where nothing seemed to happen, and many stressful weeks—despite paying a premium. Overall, it was a horrible experience. For our second home (which we took more than a year to select), we chose to work direct with a contractor instead. This was also after a very popular ID we met showed up late to their own office meeting with us—which left a terrible impression. While exploring alternatives, we came across Hoong Fat Heng Renovation and arranged a meeting at their office. Communication was a breeze, and we were introduced to Alvin Ter, who became our project manager. From the first meeting, Alvin came across as sincere, super professional, and someone who made us feel extremely comfortable. Working with him genuinely felt like having someone on your side—more than we expected. He kept us on schedule, never pushed us to take anything unnecessary, and was always honest and upfront about costs. He identified potential issues early and proposed fair solutions. He managed all the workers and moving parts well, and we never felt worried or in the dark. Even now—18 months after completion—Alvin is still easy to contact, quick to respond, and a pleasure to interact with. I am more than happy to recommend Alvin Ter from Hoong Fat Heng Renovation to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and capable contractor-led renovation experience.

It has been a smooth and pleasant renovation journey with Kok Peng as our project manager. He is highly professional and offered excellent advice on everything from tile selection and sanitary fittings to electrical wiring. He is also very practical in helping us make the most value out of our budget. Kok Peng managed the project extremely well, and we are truly grateful to have had him guiding us through our renovation journey. He sets very high standards for his work and ensures his team completes every touch-up to perfection—even after handover. On top of that, his responses were always prompt and reliable. Will definitely recommend him to all our friends who are looking for a contractor for their renovation! 💯
