We engaged IdeasXchange for our apartment renovation from Oct to Nov 25, following a colleague’s recommendation, and we’re glad we did. The team was patient and responsive during the planning phase, the detailed renderings closely matched the final outcome, helping us visualise the space clearly from the start. They also provided helpful advice on managing our temporary move during the renovation, which made the transition much smoother and less stressful. A special mention goes to our project manager and designer, Adeline. She demonstrated a strong understanding of our needs and offered many practical design suggestions. While it was challenging to adopt a new look yet retain some existing elements to manage costs, she worked thoughtfully within these constraints and provided fresh perspective and an entirely new look to the home. Adeline was meticulous, higher organised, and very responsive – even after office hours. Her concurrent planning kept the project on track and running smoothly, and she kept us regularly updated throughout. She also helped source and shortlist furnishings and accessories, which greatly facilitated our decision-making. Thank you to the workers for their professionalism, hard work, and attention to detail. Subsequent requests for re-do and touch-ups were handled promptly, and the project was completed smoothly. Thanks also to Caine for the trust and confidence placed in Adeline. Although the final costs came in above the initial budget, we are very happy with the outcome. Overall, a very positive experience – highly recommended.

Caine Cheong was highly recommended to me by a close friend and from our initial design discussions, could tell he has patience and good attention to details - Hence engaged him for renovation of my first home. Reno completed in 4 months, moved in 7 months after as was settling my old house and waiting to finish as much post reno fixes as possible. To date still have ongoing fixes as observed only after moving in not long ago. Caine do honour their post-reno warranty, remains responsive and responsible even after their work is completed and I respect him for that. Note that you may be engaging Caine but would be working with his entire Team: Caine (ID) is resourceful, quick in proposing solutions to issues, and have the contacts to make things happen quickly. I observed that most of the sub-con bosses respect Caine alot, hence would prioritise his requests. Caine’s calm demeanour and work efficiency gave us assurance and confidence, very much needed during our stressful renovation. Adeline (Hai Zhao, ID Asst) was patient to note down my detailed requirements before and during renovation and supportive throughout. Their rendering took alot of back and forth (had to feedback in great details) to match my original ask, as it was needed to show to Fengshui Master before hacking starts. The renovation end results do look very similar to their rendering. Thanks to Adeline’s amicable personality in handling difficult vendors/sub-con, one of which came to install a product that did not work as per expected and losing his cool but she was assertive, stood her ground in insisting they go back to review and provide a solution (and they later did send in a Service Engineer to resolve). Ah Nan (ID Asst) is a great multi-tasker, who played an important role throughout: He helped to monitor progress throughout (and Adeline), and was onsite to supervise when there are installations or fixes to be done by sub-con workers. Always great assurance to have him onsite. Ah Nan can fix most things or find resources to do so. Thus, he was tasked to work on countless touch-ups for my house - I really thank his patience, as most of these require intensive manual labour and time (new door frame, silicone sealant, weather dependent fixes, painting etc). Ah Nan showed responsibility and accountability, ensured his work is done perfectly before leaving for the day. Special thanks to Ah Nan’s humble personality and positive “can-do” attitude which shone throughout this journey. During renovation, it was smooth sailing initially and hiccups did happen (expected of any reno) in the last month, but are mostly either third party issue and/or a situation that I was told is “rare” or “first time”. Caine and his cool-headed Team continue to project manage and support in providing the best solutions possible. They worked hard to ensure timelines are met, had even called in various sub-cons to complete their works over Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. I have had carpenters, electricians, painting work ongoing right up to 2 days before the Fengshui ceremony. On hindsight, before hacking, home owners do ensure you have done a walkabout onsite with your IDs, discuss floor plan onsite (only later realised a new cabinet installed was covering more than half of a window that can open outwards) and to check with IDs onsite any part that you are considering not to replace to prevent issues later on. Suggest having a tracking system for action points, so that customers have visibility to the inventory and statuses. Also, appreciate if when individuals go on leave, handovers within the Team remains watertight. If you have high expectations and great attention to details, be prepared to be as hands-on as you can, so that fixes can be picked up earlier and resolved sooner. The house turned out alright eventually, my family and I feel comfort the moment we step in, and that’s what matters to me at the end of the day. Overall, Caine and his Team were a pleasant bunch to work with. Thanks Caine, Adeline and Ah Nan – For being the calm in my reno storm. ◡̈
