About Kids Focus Physiotherapy

About Kids Focus Physiotherapy

Kids Focus Physiotherapy is a paediatric physiotherapy practice based at RELC International Hotel on Orange Grove Road, offering services islandwide across Singapore. The listing is KakiList-verified, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed. It holds a 4.3-star rating across 14 Google reviews — a small sample, so this should be treated as directional rather than definitive. No regulatory licences are recorded in the current listing data.

Families typically begin by contacting the practice via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to describe their child's condition or developmental concern — common presentations for paediatric physiotherapy include gross motor delays, post-surgical rehabilitation, torticollis, hypotonia, sports injuries, and neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy. A first consultation usually involves a detailed intake assessment covering medical history and functional goals, followed by a structured treatment plan. Parents should ask about session frequency, whether a referral letter from a paediatrician or developmental specialist is required, and whether treatment is claimable under MediShield Life, Integrated Shield Plans, or corporate insurance.

To take the next step, reach out via WhatsApp or the enquiry form to describe your child's needs and ask about appointment availability, session structure, and fees before booking.

8 years ago, our child had a major illness when he was in kindergarten which resulted in a total inability to move much less walk, on one of his leg. He went through hours, days and months of physiotherapy in the hospital. Our objective then was simple - we wanted to do everything within our ability so that he gains back some mobility even if it is a less than perfect gait. Unfortunately, we weren’t met with much success. Thankfully, we were directed by our Paediatrician to Kids Focus. Serena Kwa is God sent! She is very skilled, perceptive and constantly runs ahead of the curve to address his physiotherapy needs. Even during the covid days, she made sure to conduct sessions via zooms and makes occasional visits to “check” on the boy. Then, and still is. 8 years since, scheduled physiotherapy sessions have lessen, exercises targeting different parts of his legs have changed….. but Serena’s dedication towards my child’s health and wellbeing has remained steadfast. If anything, she is even more committed to helping a now-walking- independently boy straighten his posture, correct his gait, strengthen his core muscles. Serena is one of my child’s best friends, albeit a much older one. Someone he treats like family; listens to her “nags” and respects her opinions. She has gone beyond her role as a paid physiotherapist to someone I totally trust with regards to my child’s physical condition. I don’t say it enough - Thanks so much Serena! I would highly recommend Kids Focus Physiotherapy anytime - they are worth tonnes more than my buck.

We saw Sarah for baby’s torticollis and slightly delayed milestones. Sarah was able to identify exactly where baby was tight and teach us simple exercises to balance her back out, and even correctly identified that baby was not physically delayed, just stubborn in personality and had to be gently guided out of her comfort zone to try new skills. With her guidance, we were even able to avoid a cranial helmet for baby’s brachycephaly (as baby was previously stubbornly insistent on sleeping flat on head no matter how many times we tried to turn her head in sleep). First pic is at 4mo and below is at 7mo - what a world of difference, and a pleasant surprise that we didn’t expect to achieve just by rebalancing baby and making it more comfortable to turn her head diff sides. Baby has a lot of hair and the flat head is only really visible at swim class, hence the swimming pics for comparison. Sarah was also focused on quickly discharging baby rather than drawing out treatment over more sessions, and we could not be more grateful. Really glad we met you, Sarah!

Our daughter started seeing Sarah when she was six months old. She has a genetic disorder that impacts her motor skills. My daughter used to cry a lot and refused to cooperate during the therapy sessions but Sarah has never given up on her . Sarah is very patient and genuine in helping her. Now my daughter enjoys her sessions . Sarah is very experienced and knows which muscles my daughter need to work on. She will teach us how to practise with her at home also. Besides being an excellent therapist, Sarah also advises on suitable shoes, car seats and stroller. She also works hand in hand with my daughter’s neurologist. Thanks to Sarah’s professionalism and dedication, my daughter has made great progress. We are very grateful to Sarah and words cannot express our gratitude towards her .

My girl has been seeing Ms Sarah Wong since she was 10 months old. She took a 5 year break from her physiotherapy with Sarah when she was doing well. This break was initiated by Sarah. During this break, I brought my girl to see other paediatric physiotherapists at other centres. When she started to develop neuromuscular scoliosis during puberty stage, I brought her back to Kids Focus Physiotherapy. My girl has low muscle tone as she was born with a genetic metabolic disorder. As an infant, she couldn’t lift her head, cannot clap or hold a toy in her hand, took a long time to learn to swallow safely (we went to many SLT and OT sessions too), crawling was impossible then too. When we first started seeing Sarah, my girl cried and whined for 30 mins at each physiotherapy treatment. As a parent, my heart broke into pieces. Sarah explained patiently to us that crying and whining are my girl’s ways of communicating with us that physiotherapy is hard work. She assured us that my daughter is not in pain. As her skills progress, she will find physiotherapy easier and acceptable. True enough, my girl stopped crying at physiotherapy soon after. Today, she is always happy to go to physiotherapy or any exercise. Sarah was referred to us by one of our paediatric doctors. Sarah has been instrumental in my girl’s positive development. Today she is 15yo, she is learning to walk independently, climb stairs. She can pull herself up to standing whenever she chooses and she moves in our home by cruising. She has avoided many worrying medical situations like hip sublux, severe spine scoliosis, that I have witnessed in many other special needs cases. I am glad and thankful that no doctors have ever suggested any kind of surgeries for my girl. Sarah is a excellent therapist that you can entrust your child to. These are some pointers: She sets mutually agreeable and achievable goals: short term, mid term and long term. She takes time to understand caregiving situations at home to make sure the therapy programs she teach caregivers can continue at home Her teaching techniques are easy to understand and follow She conducts physiotherapy alone to show how caregiver can do similar at home as most of us do not have the luxury of having 2 to 3 caregivers looking after 1 child with special needs The emphasis is on empowering the caregiver not coming to physiotherapy clinic frequently Her program is personalized She has high empathy but she is firm. When we slack off our “homework”, my girl bears the consequences, so she does remind us that we are not doing the right things for our child. Many times, caregivers do not like to hear hard truths. But sometimes we need to know. Today I am glad she does such reminders/coaxing be it hard or soft approach. Patience and diligence are important attributes in caring for our special needs child. Over the years, I have brought my child to see other paediatric physiotherapists but I always find myself drawn back to Sarah at Kids Focus Physiotherapy. I can always count on her to provide me with unbiased opinions regarding my child’s situations as they arise. Sarah will not sugar coat the hard truths. She analyses my child’s needs objectively and presents possible options to guide me in my decision-making. Today I count our blessings to meet great doctors and therapists. My girl is an example of extremely positive results with Kids Focus Physiotherapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Kids Focus Physiotherapy charge per session?

Kids Focus Physiotherapy displays a '$$' price indicator, but no specific per-session rate is publicly listed. For paediatric physiotherapy in Singapore, typical clinic rates run S$100–180 per session for a standard 45–60 minute appointment, with initial assessments sometimes priced higher at S$150–220 to cover the detailed evaluation component. Package rates for ongoing treatment courses are often available and may represent a modest saving versus paying per session. Confirm the full fee structure directly — including whether a separate assessment fee applies, whether GST is charged, and the cancellation or no-show policy — before booking. Contact Kids Focus Physiotherapy via WhatsApp or the enquiry form for a current price list. See the full physiotherapy cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

Many paediatric physiotherapy practices accept self-referrals, meaning you can contact Kids Focus Physiotherapy directly without a GP or specialist letter. However, a referral from a paediatrician or developmental paediatrician is worth obtaining if your child has a diagnosed condition such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, hypotonia, or a post-surgical need — it strengthens insurance claims and ensures the physiotherapist receives relevant medical background before the first session. The first visit typically involves a structured intake assessment covering the child's developmental history, functional abilities, and the family's goals. Bring any existing reports — hospital discharge summaries, developmental assessments, or diagnostic imaging — to that appointment. Ask whether the assessment is included in the standard consultation fee or billed separately, and whether treatment can begin in the same session.

Is the practitioner licensed?

Physiotherapists practising in Singapore must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) under the Allied Health Professions Act. Registration is verifiable on the AHPC public register at https://www.healthprofessionals.gov.sg — search by name to confirm the practitioner is currently registered and in good standing. No regulatory licences are recorded in the current KakiList listing for Kids Focus Physiotherapy, so it is advisable to ask directly for the treating physiotherapist's full name and AHPC registration number before booking. For paediatric physiotherapy specifically, relevant post-graduate training in paediatrics or neurodevelopmental therapy (such as NDT certification) is a meaningful indicator of clinical specialisation, though it is not a regulatory requirement. Ask about the therapist's background and experience with your child's specific condition. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the AHPC public register before treatment.
