I went in due to stiffness in my right neck area. The receptionist recommended a consultation followed by Tuina. However, the consultation felt very brief and basic. It mainly involved asking general questions that I had already filled out in the registration form, pressing a few areas on my neck, and taking my blood pressure. The entire consultation lasted about 5 minutes ($35) The 40-minute Tuina massage ($80) did not meet my expectations. I had requested stronger pressure, which was not delivered. The experience felt similar to a basic massage and did not justify the pricing. And my neck stiffness remains.

I feel really lucky to have met the therapist Cindi. I had been struggling with headaches, sleep issues, and sciatica pain for years. After starting treatment with her about four months ago, the improvement has been amazing. Cindi’s massage skills are precise and effective, and she is always patient and attentive. She earned my trust from the very first session. I’ve since recommended her to my mother and husband, and she has helped all of us. We’re truly grateful to Cindi — highly recommended!

Receptionist was friendly and easy to communicate with. The prices were clearly stated and the doctors were experienced. The therapist's techniques were different from those I've experienced at other businesses and were very effective.

Absolutely appalling experience. Both the receptionist and the tuina therapist showed zero concern for my feedback. The place was untidy, with crushed and dirty bed sheets, and the therapist had no understanding of my pain areas — making the session completely useless. My shoulder sprain actually worsened, The staff were unfriendly and indifferent throughout, resulting in a total waste of money. I strongly advise everyone to stay far away from this place.

Cindi is always my favorite tuina therapist. Highly recommended and she is very caring and sincere to help customer in resolving the body ache issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Kin Teck Tong (Bukit Timah) charge per session?

Specific session fees were not listed for Kin Teck Tong (Bukit Timah), so you should contact the clinic directly to confirm current pricing. As a general guide, TCM consultations in Singapore typically run S$20–60, with acupuncture sessions at S$40–100 and tui na at S$50–120. Herbal medicine is usually billed separately by prescription. GST applies on TCM services at registered businesses. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No referral is required to visit Kin Teck Tong (Bukit Timah) — you can book directly by phone or via the enquiry form. At the first visit, expect to complete an intake form covering your medical history, current medications, and presenting symptoms. The practitioner will conduct a TCM assessment (pulse, tongue, and symptomatic questioning) before recommending a treatment plan. If you have a chronic condition, recent surgery, or are pregnant, inform the clinic when booking so the practitioner can take appropriate precautions — some TCM modalities (for example, certain acupuncture points or strong herbal formulas) carry contraindications. A GP referral is not required for TCM, but it may help with insurance reimbursement claims if your policy covers TCM treatment, so check with your insurer beforehand.

Is the practitioner licensed?

In Singapore, TCM practitioners must be registered with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration covers acupuncturists, TCM physicians, and those who practise both. You can verify any practitioner's registration on the TCMPB public register at moh.gov.sg before your appointment. No regulatory licences were listed in the KakiList data for Kin Teck Tong (Bukit Timah), so it is advisable to ask the clinic directly for the consulting practitioner's TCMPB registration number and confirm it on the public register. Practising TCM without TCMPB registration is a criminal offence in Singapore, making this a non-negotiable check before treatment. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the TCMPB public register before treatment.
