Clinic is very clean and cosy. The staff manning the counter are patient and helpful, always willing to explain the breakdown of your treatment and help book your next appointment promptly. Their Tuina Therapist, Shi Cong, is very experienced and knowledgeable. I have only been seeing her for a few sessions, but I have felt significant improvements to my knee & back after having issues with them for many years. Would highly recommend this outlet for the convenience-- it's sheltered all the way from the MRT to the clinic-- and the welcoming staff!

Friendly service and very efficient. I thought it was a good session with Mona and my shoulder was better, but the base of my head hurt for 2 days after.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Ma Kuang Healthcare (Bukit Batok) charge per session?

Ma Kuang Healthcare (Bukit Batok) is priced at a mid-range level ($$), but specific per-session fees were not published for this listing. In the Singapore TCM market, a standard acupuncture or consultation session typically runs S$40–80, with herbal medicine prescribed separately at variable cost depending on the formula and quantity. Confirm the full fee breakdown — consultation, treatment modality, herbal prescription, and any no-show or late-cancellation charges — before your first appointment. See the full TCM cost guide for Singapore →

Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No formal referral is required to book a TCM consultation in Singapore. At the first visit, the practitioner will conduct an intake assessment covering your medical history, current medications, lifestyle, and the specific condition or goal you are seeking treatment for. You should disclose any existing diagnoses, allergies, or blood-thinning medications, as these affect treatment choices — particularly acupuncture and certain herbal formulas. If you plan to claim the session under an integrated shield plan or corporate insurance, check whether your insurer requires a GP referral letter or a TCMPB-registered practitioner for reimbursement before booking, as requirements vary by policy.

Is the practitioner at Ma Kuang Healthcare (Bukit Batok) licensed?

TCM practitioners in Singapore are regulated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration is mandatory for anyone practising acupuncture or dispensing Chinese proprietary medicines, and the public register is searchable on the TCMPB website. Confirm the consulting practitioner's full name and TCMPB registration number before your appointment — a legitimate clinic will provide this without hesitation. No regulatory licences were listed for this provider on KakiList. This does not necessarily indicate non-compliance, but it does mean you should verify the practitioner's TCMPB registration directly before proceeding with treatment. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the TCMPB public register before treatment.
