Patients typically begin with a first consultation during which the TCM practitioner conducts pulse and tongue diagnosis, reviews presenting symptoms and medical history, and establishes a treatment plan. Depending on the condition or wellness goal, this may involve acupuncture, cupping, tui na, herbal prescription, or a combination of modalities. It is worth confirming whether the clinic offers single-session visits or structured recurring packages, and asking about the cancellation and no-show policy before committing to a course of treatment.

Went to visit 2weeks back due to knee injury. Had give double Thumbs up to Dr Chang Shun Yee for great explanation and also skills in treating my pains. She was very patient & skilful in her work. She also conversed effectively in both english & chinese. Helpful in understanding the body’s signals. Will recommend!
Clinic is very clean and cosy. The staff manning the counter are patient and helpful, always willing to explain the breakdown of your treatment and help book your next appointment promptly. Their Tuina Therapist, Shi Cong, is very experienced and knowledgeable. I have only been seeing her for a few sessions, but I have felt significant improvements to my knee & back after having issues with them for many years. Would highly recommend this outlet for the convenience-- it's sheltered all the way from the MRT to the clinic-- and the welcoming staff!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mona is an excellent therapist — professional and very attentive. The front desk staff are also friendly and welcoming. Overall a great experience, highly recommended
The clinic is modern and neat. Dr. Mou is patient, kind and a very experienced doctor. Would highly recommend anyone seeking a good TCM physician to visit and seek her guidance.
Friendly service and very efficient. I thought it was a good session with Mona and my shoulder was better, but the base of my head hurt for 2 days after.

Ma Kuang Healthcare (Hougang) is listed at a mid-range price tier, though specific session fees are not publicly displayed on this listing. In Singapore, TCM first consultations typically run S$20–50, with acupuncture or tui na sessions commonly priced at S$50–120. Herbal medicine prescriptions are billed separately and vary by formula and quantity. No referral is required to consult a TCM practitioner in Singapore. On your first visit, you will typically complete an intake form covering current symptoms, medical history, medications, and any known contraindications. The practitioner will then conduct a consultation using TCM diagnostic methods — pulse reading, tongue observation, and symptom inquiry — before recommending a treatment approach. If you have a complex or chronic condition, bringing recent blood test results or specialist reports from your GP or hospital can help the TCM practitioner contextualise their assessment. A GP referral is worth obtaining if you plan to submit a claim under Medisave (which covers specific TCM acupuncture conditions at approved clinics) or private insurance, as some insurers require a referral letter.
In Singapore, TCM practitioners must be registered with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration is mandatory and verifiable on the TCMPB public register at moh.gov.sg. Practising without TCMPB registration is an offence under the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Act. No regulatory licences are listed for Ma Kuang Healthcare (Hougang) on this KakiList entry. Before booking, ask the clinic to confirm the registered name and TCMPB registration number of the practitioner who will be treating you, then cross-check on the TCMPB public register. This takes under two minutes and is the most important verification step before undergoing any TCM treatment. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
