Working with Carol has been a wonderful experience. She treats our HDB BTO project as like designing her own home and her sense of style and taste really shows in the final outcome. Throughout the renovation, she gave us thoughtful, practical advice — always with our best interests in mind. One thing that really stood out was her attention to detail and initiative. We didn’t even realise the shower glass had been installed wrongly, but Carol spotted it, arranged to have it fixed, and updated us — all without us needing to follow up. She also accompanied us to different tile shops a few times and was always proactive in helping us with selections. If you’re looking for a hands-free and stress-free renovation journey, Carol is definitely someone you can trust. Also our project director Tommy was also quite involved in the project, and even recorded a video to explain some technical stuffs when we didn’t have time to check out our house/meet him.

I would like to compliment my ID, Rachael, and my project manager, Don, for making our 3-month renovation journey such a smooth and fuss-free one. This is our first BTO and I already knew I wanted to engage MSS even before we collected our keys, since I’ve been following their portfolio for a while. We didn’t even talk to other IDs because we were quite sure about going with them. Rachael was super efficient and responsive. She replied almost immediately whenever we had questions in the whatsapp group. I didn’t even give her a clear design theme, just small preferences like marble look, no wood, no mirrors, nothing too loud… and the 3D renders turned out exactly how I wanted. They were so spot on that we hardly made any changes, only small tweaks here and there. She also went with us to Hafary to choose tiles, brought us to a lighting shop that had affordable lights when we said we didn’t want to overspend, and even went with us to pick wallpapers. From lighting to carpentry, we trusted her fully. Don, our project manager, really deserves a huge shoutout too. He was always on site and kept us updated with photos and videos so we didn’t have to worry at all. My partner and I are busy with work, so we only managed to go down once a week, but Don made sure we knew everything that was going on. Even when we were away for 17 days on holiday, he still kept us closely updated. He also helped to oversee work from our external contractors, which we really appreciated, and whenever there were issues, he settled them super quickly. Honestly, Don gave us so much peace of mind throughout the whole process. Both Rachael and Don also went the extra mile to help with our furniture and appliance deliveries, including overseas ones. We didn’t need to be around for deliveries at all because they coordinated everything for us. Rachael even prepared a furniture list with different price options, helped us order, and got the specific artwork pieces I wanted. On top of that, their styling service was really helpful too. They gave us a checklist to pick what kind of decor we liked and helped us choose the pieces that best suited our home. We did spend quite a bit on our reno, but honestly it was worth every cent. Our friends always compliment our house, and even external contractors who came by said how pretty it looks. Big thank you to both Rachael and Don, and I really recommend MSS to anyone looking to renovate their home!

I'd promised Rachael, my interior designer, to write a review since December last year, so this has been a long time coming! Short version: Excellent and professional team. They are not cheap, but quality does not come cheap. In my opinion, great value for the services and expertise they provide. Long version: I was introduced to Rachael and Mr Shopper Studio by one of my best friends after he had engaged her for interior design of his BTO. I had seen his house several times after the renovation and I love the aesthetic of it, so I wanted the same team he got for my new condominium unit. Granted, the renovation wouldn't have been as extensive as that of a BTO, but I still wanted it to look good! Being a total noob with interior design and renovation, having Rachael as my interior designer was a godsend. She walked me through the entire process and was happy to answer any question I had, no matter how dumb. Anything I wanted, she would help me find several options for, and she would also give several suggestions to ideas I wanted to implement. Rachael was also on hand for every shopping visit, from the lighting, to selecting wallpaper, to selecting the top for my adjustable standing desk, guiding me through the whole process, giving suggestions, and adjusting to what I wanted. Once the decisions were set, I was able to have a mostly hands-free experience with the renovation, which was very well looked after by Rachael and Raymond. I only popped in a few times at night to see how the progress was, and never had to make any intervention. The final product was very satisfactory and I've been very happy with the house ever since. The fees were not cheap, but that is partly because my taste is not cheap - Rachael offered a few tiers of each piece of furniture that I could choose - from cheapest to most expensive - it's my fault that I have expensive taste 😂 Overall, I am very satisfied with the amount of money put into the renovation, given the end product. After the renovation, Rachael also showed that she has very good after-sales service. She was even agreeable to be present to inspect the post-renovation cleaning that I had hired from Helpling. I also had few questions post-handing over that she answered promptly over text and readily gave suggestions for my queries. All in all, a great experience, and if I ever have need for an interior designer again (unlikely, but who knows), Rachael and Mr Shopper Studio will be my first port of call.
