My daughter had the pleasure of being a student in Mrs Eng classroom. Mrs Eng is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about Science. Her teaching style is clear, engaging, and supportive. My daughter will look forward to lesson each time as Mrs Eng never fails to make learning fun and meaningful. Thanks to her guidance, my girl was able to gain confidence and improve her results tremendously. Mrs Eng genuinely care about her student’s success and will go above and beyond to help. My family is truly grateful for everything, thank you for being such an excellent educator.
Mrs Eng is an experience and dedicated teacher, my daughter Renee began to like Science subject after attending her classes as her feedback on her lessons were fun, interesting and effective learning. Teacher provides not just notes but also make student write down all the important notes for revision which is significant for remembering. Keep up the great work!
My daughter kept telling me that she is finally able to grasp the science concepts as Mrs Eng is able to explain to her very clearly and often made the lessons very interesting for the children. Her grades for science has also improved. She learnt much more from Mrs Eng class than from her own school lesson. She finds the notes very helpful for her Psle revision and now feeling much more confident in answering the OEQs.
I was a student at Mrs Eng’s Science Classroom in 2022. I initially thought that her teaching was decent, but rather sub-standard. Over time, I began to feel that it was not worth the price, not just because of the material itself, but because of the way she treated her students. In recent years, she has become increasingly condescending, stripping away the joy of learning and replacing it with fear and humiliation. 1. Mrs Eng’s materials are not worth the price: Mrs Eng asks students to buy past-year exam papers with their OWN money. She then uses these papers in class and simply goes through the answers which makes it a complete waste of money. I recommend simply buying the paper and doing it at home. She does sometimes teach some answering techniques, but they are all basic ones taught by teachers in school (CER). Mrs Eng makes students buy 90% of the materials used in class, making it extremely unvalue for money. (her materials include: plain white notebook for mindmaps, EPH Science Topical Class Tests P6 workbook, past year exam papers from the nearby printing shop at Thomson Plaza) 2. . Mrs Eng goes on a power trip: She often uses unnecessary, over-the-top tactics to enforce discipline. She often uses this water gun that she “fills up with water from the toilet bowl” to force innocent students into submission. I distinctly remember when one of my classmates yawned quietly and she immediately sprayed water at him (he was visibly shielding himself and he actually dropped clear hints that he strongly disliked the dirty water). This student was not trying to be difficult and I could see that he was really trying his best to keep up. One might call it “necessary discipline”, but are these actions really necessary when the student wasn’t even being difficult? 3. Mrs Eng creates a toxic learning environment: It is fair to take necessary action to correct a student who does not put in effort. However, I have seen Mrs Eng humiliate those who tried their absolute best, humiliating them in front of the class simply because they weren’t “good enough”. Tuition should be a safe place where one can make mistakes and grow, learn from mistakes and keep improving. Instead of nurturing a safe learning environment, Mrs Eng crushes students’ self-worth by tying it to grades, hurting their self esteem and image. Especially at this crucial stage of development, other people’s opinions mean the world to these tweens, and Mrs Eng’s actions may lead to students developing trauma and issues with self-esteem. On her websites, many of her posts show that students have remarkable improvements just from attending her lessons in a short time. However, I can honestly say that a lot of these students have external tuition. Besides that, let me ask you this question. How real is everything we see on social media? Not only that, but everyone only posts the highlights in their life. It is definitely safe to say that we will not always be able to see both sides of someone, which really makes it impossible to know what is true and what is not. Honestly speaking, the standard of Mrs Eng’s teaching was much better in the past. As of late, she has gotten increasingly condescending and toxic. I would strongly suggest you do not take her classes and rather do test papers at home (more cost effective too).
Teacher is most dedicated to all her students whose results jumped 2 to 3 grades. Thanks to the teacher who makes great effort to educate children based on practical experiences and make them more interesting to learn.

One-to-one tuition commands a higher rate. Some centres bill by term rather than individual session. Many tuition centres in Singapore offer a trial class, either at a reduced fee or at the standard per-session rate, before families commit to a full term. This is worth requesting at Mrs Eng's Classroom before signing up. During a trial class, pay attention to whether the level of instruction matches your child's current ability, whether your child feels engaged, and whether the teaching style suits how your child learns. Group class sizes also matter — smaller groups generally allow for more personalised attention. Contact Mrs Eng's Classroom via WhatsApp or phone to ask about their current trial class policy and associated cost before making any payment.
Specific tutor credentials — such as NIE or MOE teaching background, degree qualifications, or years of experience — were not listed in the provider's profile at the time of writing. These details are important when choosing a tuition centre, particularly for examination-focused subjects aligned to the MOE syllabus. When you contact Mrs Eng's Classroom, ask directly about the lead tutor's educational background, whether tutors have prior MOE school experience, how long they have been teaching the relevant levels, and how they keep up to date with syllabus changes — particularly for subjects like English, Mathematics, or the Sciences at PSLE, O-Level, or A-Level. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
