I engaged MSR Interior Design for a relatively simple scope: kitchen cabinets, plumbing, electrical works, window grills, and painting. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing and I would not recommend this company. At the start, MSR presented a good company image and attractive pricing, which led us to sign the contract on 31 August 2025. Keys were collected on 24 October 2025, and the project manager claimed there were no major defects and that renovation could proceed. However, once works started, the issues began: Poor communication & coordination: On 3 November 2025, contractors started electrical works and cabinet cement base without any prior update from the project manager. Painting errors: On 11 November 2025, the rooms were painted in the wrong colours. Cabinet measurement mistakes: On 20 November 2025, the kitchen cabinets were installed with incorrect measurements – the top and bottom cabinet lengths were reversed from what was agreed. Window grill error: On 21 November 2025, the window grills were installed with the wrong spacing. We specifically requested 2-inch spacing, but 4-inch spacing was installed instead. Lighting placement mistake: On 28 November 2025, the balcony light was installed facing the road instead of centred as requested. Plumbing issues & poor workmanship: On 5 December 2025, we discovered water leaking when installing the water dispenser. On 6 December 2025, unable to install the washing machine/dryer due to wrong valve. Despite having informed them earlier about the need to change valve. Electrical alignment issue: On 18 December 2025, we realised the kitchen powerpoints were not aligned. The project manager tried to blame the L-shaped cabinet design, while the electrician pointed to the glass backsplash installer for not allowing enough tolerance. The “rectification” was simply using double-sided tape to bring the power point out and make it appear straight. Definitely not a proper long-term solution. On 25 December 2025, the area under our sink was soaked. The plumber later found that PVC glue was not used at all; they had only used white tape, which is unacceptable for permanent plumbing works. After all the distress and inconvenience, the company offered only $100 as compensation for the plumbing issue under the sink. Punctuality & professionalism: On 28 December 2025, the General Manager, Zuhairi and Project Manager, Shabirin arrived 30 minutes late for the final touch-up and handover. On 11 January 2026, the Managing Director, Syafiq Rohaizat and Social Media Executive, Sherril arrived at around 3:05pm, stayed for about 5 minutes to pass us the contract, take a few marketing photos, and then left, saying they had to rush back to an event at Expo. In no way did they try to address our grievances during the renovation, the stress and unpaid leave we had to take, or to extend an apology for unacceptable mistakes. To be fair, the renovation was completed within the requested one-month timeline. However, this was overshadowed by the numerous mistakes, miscoordination, and subpar workmanship throughout the project. The company may look professional on the surface, but our experience suggests otherwise when it comes to actual execution and after-sales responsibility. Based on our renovation journey with MSR Interior Design, I cannot recommend them.

He was attentive, patient, and really took the time to understand my design ideas, from layout planning to colour choices and measurements. The final result exceeded my expectations. I would like to sincerely commend the excellent service provided by my ID, Zuraidi, in designing and creating my TV wall feature. He thoughtfully incorporated my need to neatly manage messy cables, wires, and plug points, delivering a solution that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Zuraidi was very patient throughout the entire process, guiding me in selecting the most suitable design to complement my home. Whenever unexpected issues arose, he was quick to resolve them and even went the extra mile to personally come down and inspect the situation. His dedication and commitment truly gave me peace of mind. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with his creativity, attention to detail, and design expertise. I recently had the pleasure of working with MSR, for a full home renovation, and I cannot recommend their services highly enough. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, their team had done a very good job amazingly. The renovation included a complete kitchen remodel, the installation of new flooring throughout the house, plastering and painting, build-in wardrobes, living room redesign with display cabinet, concealed master bedroom and store room door, TV feature wall, casement window, sliding pet mesh grilles and 3 In 1 combi door. The goal was to create a more modern, functional space and MSR delivered exactly that. From the start, communication was clear and timely. The project manager, Mr Sharyzan, was extremely responsive to any questions or concerns I had. He provided regular updates on the progress, and I was informed about any delays or changes in schedule well in advance. He also offered great suggestions during the design phase and gave helpful advice when it came to selecting materials and finishes. The renovation was completed on time, which was something I greatly appreciated. Mr Sharyzan and his team worked diligently to ensure that everything was done efficiently. They respected my time and kept things moving forward as planned. One of the standout aspects of my experience with MSR was their communication. Sharyzan and the customer relation officer, Shadina, were very responsive to my concerns and were proactive in addressing any questions I had along the way. They made sure I was fully informed and comfortable with every step of the process. I am beyond pleased with the results of my home renovation. The spaces are more functional, stylish, modern and comfortable. Thank you, MSR, for turning my vision into reality!
