About National Museum of Singapore

About National Museum of Singapore

National Museum of Singapore is a venue rental option located at 93 Stamford Rd, offering distinctive event spaces within one of Singapore's most historically significant buildings. It has been KakiList-verified, and with 4.6 out of 5 across 16,314 Google reviews, it carries a robust and well-established rating. Pricing is positioned in the mid-to-upper range, indicated by a $$$ marker, with packages available for private events.

Enquiries typically begin with confirming capacity for your specific event format — standing cocktail, banquet round-table, or theatre seating — as these configurations yield very different guest counts within the same spaces. Prospective hirers should clarify the F&B policy (whether in-house catering is required, whether external caterers are permitted and under what corkage arrangement), A/V provision including PA system, projector, and screen, as well as aircon hours and the noise curfew applicable to the venue. Setup and teardown access windows are worth confirming explicitly, as they are often outside the core rented period. Accessibility via lift, ramp, and accessible toilets should be verified for events with mobility-impaired guests, and a photography or videography permit may be required given the museum context.

Contact National Museum of Singapore directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to confirm available dates, event format capacity, and package inclusions before arranging a site recce.

National Museum of Singapore | 100/10 🏛️✨ Probably the best museum I’ve ever visited. This place is next level—super high-tech, interactive, and incredibly well designed. The exhibitions combine history with modern multimedia installations, making everything engaging and easy to follow, even if you’re not a museum person. The building itself is beautiful, mixing colonial architecture with futuristic interiors. Everything is very well curated, clean, and organized, and you really feel immersed in Singapore’s history and culture through smart storytelling and technology. If you’re in Singapore, this is an absolute must-visit. One of the most impressive museums in the world—100/10 experience.

I was there during renovations due to limited time, so unfortunately only two exhibits were open. The first exhibition on the history of Singapore was interesting and very detailed. I liked their section on well known Singaporeans, it was nice to see their Olympic athletes achievements celebrated there. The other exhibition was just looking at projections on a wall as you walked down a ramp, which wasn't very interesting, but kids might like it.

This National Museum of Singapore is very worth to visit! Noted that most of the exhibit's explanation is in English. And most of local friends are chinese educated. It would be better if there is something (i.e. QR code) for other foreign visitors to scan and it automatically translate to their preferred languages to read. I believed Singapore has many of this IT talents who are able to go this impressive things.

We’re interested to visit because of the Skull Panda exhibition, for tourist you have to pay a bit more yet to our surprise there is so much they offer outside of that. Staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. We spent about 2 hours exploring/traveling through the museum! Place and installations are well maintained, it’s really fun.

The Odyssey exhibit was really fun. Children loved the bracelets and interactivity. Rowed the boat game at the B1 exhibit was also great. Dame cafe was also chill and yummy. Highlight for the kids was the Iwako eraser buffet at the gift shop. $10 for 7 cute erasers in a bento box 🤪skullpanda and everywhere was also a nice plus for photo taking

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does National Museum of Singapore charge?

National Museum of Singapore uses a package pricing model. Function and event spaces at heritage and museum venues in Singapore typically follow either an hourly hall rate or a per-event package structure. Function spaces generally run S$100–500 per hour with a minimum booking window, while larger or more prominent halls can reach S$300–1,500 or more per hour. Per-event packages at mid-to-large venues commonly start from S$1,500–8,000 for a half-day and S$8,000–30,000 or more for full-day arrangements. Itemise what is included before committing: aircon hours, basic A/V (PA, projector, screen), on-site staff, setup and teardown access, and cleaning. Common add-ons include external-caterer corkage (typically S$3–8 per pax), liquor corkage if BYO, an extended-hours surcharge, and photography or videography permits. Contact National Museum of Singapore directly for a current package schedule. See the full venue rental cost guide for Singapore →

What capacity and F&B policy does National Museum of Singapore have?

Capacity at National Museum of Singapore will vary by space and configuration. As a general guide, standing cocktail setups accommodate roughly 1.5–2 times the banquet seated number, while theatre seating falls between the two. Request the floor plan for each space you are considering, and confirm maximum numbers for your specific format before booking. For F&B, confirm whether in-house catering is mandatory, whether external caterers are permitted (with or without a corkage fee and whether there is an approved-caterer list), and the policy on alcohol. For wedding solemnisations, ask whether the venue holds ROM registration or whether you will need to arrange a Justice of the Peace separately. A site recce before paying the deposit is standard and strongly recommended for a venue of this character.

What's the booking and cancellation policy at National Museum of Singapore?

Deposit and balance schedules at established venues typically follow a 30–50% deposit on signing, with the balance due one to two weeks before the event. Popular Saturday evenings and dates during Singapore's peak wedding season (March–April, October–November) tend to book well in advance — confirm availability early. Ask specifically about the noise curfew (typically 10–11pm for venues in or near residential or conservation areas), parking arrangements, lift and ramp accessibility, and what flexibility exists if a force-majeure event requires postponement. Most reputable venues allow rescheduling within 6–12 months without forfeiting the deposit, but this should be confirmed in writing. Conduct a site recce and put all terms — F&B policy, A/V inclusions, noise curfew, setup and teardown access windows, and rescheduling conditions — in writing before paying the deposit.
