About Novena Psychiatry Clinic

About Novena Psychiatry Clinic

Novena Psychiatry Clinic is a counselling and psychiatric practice located at Novena Medical Centre, 10 Sinaran Drive, serving patients across Singapore. The clinic has been verified by KakiList, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed. It holds a 3.8 out of 5 rating across 33 Google reviews — a moderate sample that offers some directional signal on patient experience. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range tier; specific session fees were not provided and should be confirmed directly with the clinic.

Patients typically begin by contacting the clinic via phone or the online enquiry form to describe their presenting concern — whether that is anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment difficulties, grief, or another condition — and to request an appointment. At the first consultation, the psychiatrist or counsellor will conduct an intake assessment covering mental health history, current symptoms, and goals. From there, a treatment plan is agreed, which may involve regular counselling sessions, medication review, or a combination of both. It is worth asking about session frequency, expected duration of engagement, whether the clinic accepts Medisave or insurance, and the cancellation policy before committing.

To take the next step, contact Novena Psychiatry Clinic by phone or through the contact form on their listing to book an initial consultation and confirm current appointment availability.

I had a bad experience with this clinic. I am covered and have clarified with my insurance provider that no payment is required upfront. However, upon arriving at the clinic, I was told that I will need to pay out of pocket unless I have a referral letter from a general practitioner. This was NOT communicated to me beforehand but they insisted they did. They did not want to acknowledge a mistake made on their part and there was no apology for the inconvenience caused. I walked out despite waiting weeks for my appointment.

Nothing to complain about wrt the doctors, but the reception staff are a mess. One person is professional, helpful, and competent. The other will do almost anything to avoid work, and is unable to even make any appointments without having to hang up and get her colleague to call you back

Was reading through reviews before I made the call for appointment. To my surprise I myself had a first hand experience of the staff's rudeness. I am still talking when she hung up the phone. So decided not to proceed with this clinic. No wonder only got 3 stars 🤮

Dr Zheng is one of the loveliest and most helpful doctors I have met. I have severe manic bi-polar and she helped me manage my symptoms and reintegrate myself into society as a more confident and positively social individual. Dealing with this illness is one of the hardest things I have ever had to manage. I am so glad I met someone who truly understands the person not the illness and is able to provide sound, practical, emotional and beneficial advice. Thank you Dr Zheng, I will never forget the times you were there for me. I highly recommend Dr Zheng for mood disorders and would advice anyone seeking help to give her a chance as she is unlike any psychiatrist I have met in Singapore.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Novena Psychiatry Clinic charge per session?

Novena Psychiatry Clinic is listed at a mid-range price tier, but specific per-session fees were not published at the time of this listing. For psychiatric clinics at private medical centres in Singapore, initial consultations typically run S$200–400, with follow-up sessions at S$150–300 and counselling sessions at S$100–250, depending on the professional conducting the session and its duration. Ask the clinic whether fees include a medication review or are charged separately, and confirm the cancellation or no-show policy upfront. Medisave can be used for psychiatric outpatient consultations at approved clinics under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) — confirm whether Novena Psychiatry Clinic is a CDMP-registered provider, as this affects how much you can claim. Do I need a referral or assessment first?

You do not typically need a GP referral to book a private psychiatry or counselling appointment in Singapore, though a referral letter from a GP or specialist can be helpful — it provides background clinical history and may be required if you intend to make an insurance claim or seek subsidised rates at a restructured hospital later. At the first visit, expect to complete an intake form covering your mental health history, current medications, sleep, mood, and the reason for attending. The clinician will use this to structure the initial assessment. If you are seeking help for a specific condition such as ADHD, depression, or an anxiety disorder, bring any previous diagnoses, reports, or medication records. Contraindications or physical health concerns are also relevant and should be disclosed at the outset.

Is the practitioner at Novena Psychiatry Clinic licensed?

Psychiatrists practising in Singapore must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC), which maintains a public register verifiable at the Ministry of Health's online portal. Psychologists providing counselling may be registered with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or, for those with clinical training, with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP). Allied health counsellors may hold accreditation from the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). No specific licence details were provided in this listing. Before your first appointment, ask for the consulting professional's name and registration number, then verify on the SMC or relevant board's public register. This is standard practice for any private mental health consultation and takes under two minutes online. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
