About NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic

About NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic

NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic is a TCM clinic operating from the Nanyang Technological University campus at 60 Nanyang Drive, serving patients islandwide. It holds a 4.5-star rating across 107 Google reviews, a robust sample that provides a reliable signal of patient experience. KakiList has verified the clinic's operating details and contact channel; no ACRA registration has been confirmed.

Patients typically begin with a first consultation, during which a TCM practitioner takes a detailed history covering current symptoms, lifestyle, and constitution before determining a treatment plan. Common modalities include acupuncture, herbal medicine, tuina (therapeutic massage), and cupping. As a university-affiliated clinic, practitioners are likely to include supervised students working alongside qualified physicians — it is worth confirming the supervision model and the credentials of the practitioner who will lead your treatment. If you have a complex or chronic condition, clarify whether the clinic handles ongoing management or refers on to specialist TCM hospitals.

Contact NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to confirm current consultation hours, available modalities, and whether a first appointment requires an advance booking.

It all started with a bad cough and flu few years ago and it didn't fully recover. The throat became super sensitive, even with breathing became super sensitive under air-conditioned place. Tried many different doctors, home remedies also not help. Until I met Dr Sun Haili, things started to improve. Throat became less sensitive over time, I can eat and sleep with peace without having to cough till tears drop. I am also seeing Dr Chen Jiayi for my neck issue. The muscle area around my back of the neck have been giving me a lot of issue. After few rounds of acupuncture and cupping, now can sleep better. Well even thou I lived in Tampines, the journey to NTU is really far but again it is worth it. Cheers to the ladies at the reception, very very friendly and helpful. Amitoufo!!

Have been a patient of Dr Zhao Yan (赵医师) since the first time I saw her back in 2016. I came back to see her 2.5 years ago and have been regularly taking TCM meds, while undergoing monthly acupuncture treatment in the past few months. Acupuncture has been quite effective for me so far in relieving of my cramps and reducing blood clots, but I believe consistency is key to maintaining its effectiveness. Am grateful most of all to have found an empathetic, personable, kind, caring, patient and helpful doctor who has always made me feel comfortable and at ease when sharing somewhat private details of my health issues, to best receive the most appropriate line of medical treatment. Dr Zhao is also professional and appears humble despite her seniority in the TCM field over years of experience. This makes me look forward to each consultation and treatment session with her, knowing I’m in good hands.🙂🥰💯 Personally, I would recommend NTU TCM clinic for those seeking TCM treatment in a clean, bright and aesthetically pleasing environment! Prices are quite reasonable compared to other clinics I’ve been to too.

Had a very frustrating first experience here. I arrived at 12:40 PM, not knowing the clinic was closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 PM — this wasn’t stated anywhere obvious on Google or their website. I waited nearly an hour, only to be told when I tried to register that they only accept patients with appointments, and no doctor would be seeing me today. The fact that walk-ins aren’t accepted is not clearly stated anywhere — I had to dig around online afterward to even find that out. For a clinic, this is basic information that should be easily visible to patients before they visit

Dr Steven Loh is one of the kindest and most patient Dr I have ever seen. He takes much care to understand your medical condition. This is unlike many Dr who usually just treats patients like a number to clock in. I have seen improvement in my heart palpitations condition (hopefully will get it treated soon) and has also recommended my sister to see him for her sinus condition.

I highly recommend Dr. Lim Yinjia for her exceptional TCM expertise and genuine care. She takes the time to understand your unique body constitution, provides accurate diagnoses, and prescribes tailored herbal treatments. Her thoughtful and effective approach has significantly improved my overall health. Her patience and professionalism make every consultation reassuring. I’m truly grateful for her help and would recommend her to anyone seeking authentic, results-driven traditional Chinese medicine care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic charge per session?

Consultation fees at university-affiliated TCM clinics in Singapore are typically lower than private clinics, often ranging from S$15–40 per consultation for students or subsidised rates, with standard rates for non-affiliated patients generally S$30–60. Herbal prescriptions, acupuncture, and adjunct treatments such as cupping or tuina are usually billed separately on top of the consultation fee. Confirm whether the practitioner you see is a fully registered TCM physician or a supervised student, as fees may differ. Package pricing for recurring treatments such as a course of acupuncture is sometimes available — ask directly when booking. GST applicability should also be clarified at the point of booking. Do I need a referral or assessment first?

No GP referral is required to attend NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic — you can book directly by phone or through the enquiry form. At your first visit, you will typically complete an intake form covering your medical history, current medications, and presenting complaints before the practitioner conducts a TCM assessment (pulse diagnosis, tongue inspection, and questioning). If you have a serious or unstable medical condition — such as an active infection, uncontrolled chronic disease, or a condition requiring urgent investigation — it is advisable to consult a Western medicine doctor first. A GP referral letter can also support a MediSave or insurance claim in some cases, so check your policy before attending. Inform the practitioner of any blood-thinning medications or implanted devices before acupuncture is carried out.

Is the practitioner at NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic licensed?

In Singapore, all practising TCM physicians must be registered with the TCM Practitioners Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health. Registration can be verified on the TCMPB public register at the MOH website before your appointment. Registered practitioners are required to meet continuing education requirements and are subject to the TCMPB Code of Practice. As a university-linked clinic, NTU Chinese Medicine Clinic may deploy both fully registered physicians and final-year students under supervision. It is reasonable to ask at the point of booking whether your consultation will be led by a registered TCM physician, and to request the practitioner's TCMPB registration number if you wish to verify independently. Confirm the practitioner's licence on the TCMPB register before treatment.
