About "Pat's Schoolhouse"
Pat's Schoolhouse is a playgroup childcare provider operating across Singapore, listed on KakiList as a verified and ACRA-registered business. The centre at Gentle Road holds a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 64 reviews — a moderate sample that suggests consistent parent satisfaction, though prospective families are encouraged to form their own view through a visit. Families typically begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as places — particularly for younger age groups — can fill quickly. When you contact Pat's Schoolhouse, it is worth asking about the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the daily routine and curriculum, the settling-in period for new children, and any centre-specific policies around illness or absences. Singapore citizen children may be eligible for ECDA childcare subsidies; bring your child's birth certificate and details of household income when visiting the centre so staff can guide you through the subsidy application process.
To take the next step, reach out to Pat's Schoolhouse via phone or the enquiry form to ask about current vacancies for your child's age group and to arrange a centre visit before committing.
Visit the centre in person, meet the lead teacher, and read the parent contract before signing.

Teachers at the school enjoy being with the children. This is important for parents who need the assurance that our kids are in good hands. The school has been responsive to parents’ feedback/questions about our child’s progress and well-being. When a concern is raised, effort will be spent on understanding what happened and the perspectives of those involved. This takes time and commitment. Turnover rate in the industry is high - we should commend the Centre for engaging parents to explain how deployment is managed to ensure the continuity of learning for the kids. As a parent who has high expectations for teaching and learning, TSH@GR has been awesome :)
My son loves this school! The school director and all the teachers are caring and kind, you can tell that they really love children from the bottom of their heart. The curriculum has great variety and is really fun to let kids learn through playing. We plan to send our second son here too!
The Schoolhouse at Gentle Road is a wonderful place, where every space is carefully designed and decorated to ignite the love of learning. All the staff, teaching and non-teaching, are so warm and friendly, and handle the children with love and care. It’s one big family here; where parents get to be addressed by their own name too! Not just ‘mommy of ___’. There was never a day where my child didn’t look forward to going to school. And that’s the greatest testimony of all. To all the staff, keep up the awesome work!
Amazing Centre director and teachers, who truly care for and nurture the children. We have enrolled both our kids here (from when they were 18 months; our oldest is now 5) despite having many other options nearer to our home!
Our child has been with Busy bees at Gentle Road since the last 02 years. Our choice of school has been a life changing decision. This school is a complete package - with a fine balance of academic support, exploratory learning and a strong focus on building life skills. There has never been a dull day for our child. A special mention to the School Director Ms Poompavai - a strong and caring leader - with kids at the heart of everything. Ms Pavai has been a strong influence on our child's development journey and an individual easily accessible to parents. Her leadership / mentorship and a focus on staying ahead of the curve is unmatched. I will always remain a strong proponent of the school, the school director and the teachers. You can never go wrong with this school. Well done!

Pat's Schoolhouse operates on a monthly recurring fee model, priced at the mid-range tier ($$) for its playgroup programme. When you enquire, ask for the full breakdown: the monthly programme fee, any one-off registration fee payable on enrolment, and the deposit required to secure the place (typically equivalent to one to two months' fees). Uniform costs and personal accident or group insurance premiums may also apply and are worth confirming upfront. Childcare fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the quoted monthly amount should be the amount you pay. Always request a written fee schedule and review the centre's refund policy for the deposit before signing. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →
Singapore citizen children enrolled in a licensed ECDA-funded childcare centre may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care or S$300 per month for childcare — regardless of household income. Working mothers who clock 56 hours or more of work per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Relief subsidy. Families with lower household incomes can apply for the Additional Subsidy, which can bring combined subsidy support to as much as S$710 per month. Permanent Resident children receive partial subsidies at lower quantum levels. Subsidy rates and eligibility criteria are reviewed periodically, so check the ECDA website directly for current figures before planning your budget. Your centre's administrator can assist with the subsidy application through the LifeSG portal. Note that Pat's Schoolhouse does not currently list an ECDA licence in its public profile — confirm directly with the centre whether it is an ECDA-funded operator before applying for subsidies.
Demand for quality playgroup and childcare places in Singapore often outpaces supply, particularly for the younger age bands. Popular centres routinely fill slots three to twelve months ahead of the intended start date, and January is the peak intake month as it aligns with the start of the school year. Families hoping to begin in January are advised to begin enquiring by the preceding April at the latest. To secure a place at Pat's Schoolhouse, contact the centre by phone or through its enquiry form to check current availability for your child's age group and intended start month. Be prepared to pay a registration fee and deposit to hold the slot once it is offered, as centres typically release places to the next family on the list if payment is not received promptly. Visiting the centre before committing is strongly recommended.
