Clients typically begin with an initial consultation to discuss presenting concerns — whether anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, workplace stress, or other mental health goals. The therapist or counsellor will take a brief intake history, discuss the therapeutic approach, and agree on a session cadence. Most practices offer both single sessions and recurring packages; it is worth confirming session length (typically 50–60 minutes), frequency, and the cancellation or rescheduling policy before committing to an ongoing arrangement.
To enquire about availability or book a first appointment, contact Private Space Medical by phone or via the enquiry form listed on their profile. Ask about the counsellor's specific credentials, therapeutic orientation, and any intake paperwork to complete before your first session.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
Dr. Moon is honestly one of the kindest doctors I’ve ever met. He listens without any judgment and makes you feel completely safe to share what’s on your mind. His calm and gentle way of talking helps ease my anxiety, and he really takes the time to understand what you’re going through. He never rushes and always makes you feel heard. Every session feels supportive, genuine, and human. I’m really grateful to have found him — he truly cares about helping his patients heal.
Dr. Moon has been incredibly attentive and perceptive throughout my sessions. He helped me make sense of what I’ve been experiencing and guided me toward healthier ways of coping. I’ve always felt heard and supported, and he offered clear, manageable steps that made my daily life feel less overwhelming. I’m genuinely grateful for the safe and compassionate space he created—it has made a real difference in my ability to heal and move forward.
The clinic had a cozy atmosphere and the staff were courteous. It was easy to get an appointment that suited my schedule, I assume perhaps because they’re relatively new. I especially appreciated them having weekend availability. Dr Moon had a welcoming and calm demeanour which helped me to feel comfortable. I felt that he asked the ‘right’ questions which allowed me to know that he was understanding me without judging me just for the labels given to me.
I had a great experience at the clinic. Dr. Moon has provided a professional and compassionate care for me and my family member. I have had some negative experiences during counselling in other clinics, and was cautious especially during the first session. However, Dr. Moon put me at ease as he showed that he cared more about myself as a human and a patient more than ticking off his to do list. The main reason that I decided to continue the counselling with Dr. Moon is how he never judged me but told me words that gave me the assurance of his understanding and empathy. Then, after several weeks some of the things he had shared with me would stay with me when I would feel anxious or particularly down. I would definitely recommend him for individual or family counselling sessions.
Thank you to Maricel for her prompt and effective support in resolving an unexpected medication shortfall. She is consistently responsive, proactive, and solution-oriented, and her professionalism truly stands out. I’d also like to thank Joanne for her steady support and guidance in helping me navigate recent challenging life circumstances - very grateful for the Private Space Medical team!

Private Space Medical is listed at a mid-range price point ($$), but specific per-session fees were not published at the time of this listing. For context, counselling and psychotherapy sessions in Singapore typically range from S$120–250 per 50-minute session at private specialist-centre practices, with an initial assessment sometimes priced separately. Confirm the per-session rate, whether a package discount applies for block bookings, and the cancellation or no-show policy before your first appointment. Some practitioners also accept insurance — ask whether your insurer's outpatient mental health rider covers private counselling sessions. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →
Most private counselling practices, including those based in specialist centres like Novena Specialist Centre, do not require a GP referral to book a first appointment — you can contact Private Space Medical directly by phone or enquiry form. That said, if you plan to claim through a corporate health insurance or Medisave-approved rider, a GP or psychiatrist referral letter may be required by your insurer, so check your policy before booking. The first session typically functions as an intake assessment: the counsellor will gather background on your presenting concerns, mental health history, and goals, and discuss what the therapeutic process will look like. If you have a diagnosed condition (e.g. major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, PTSD), bringing any existing clinical reports or psychiatrist letters can help the counsellor contextualise your needs from the outset.
In Singapore, counsellors and psychotherapists are not currently subject to mandatory statutory licensing in the same way as physiotherapists or TCM practitioners. Voluntary registration bodies such as the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) confer recognised credentials — the relevant designations to look for are Registered Counsellor (SAC), Registered Psychologist (SPS), or an equivalent recognised overseas qualification (e.g. BACP, ACA, NBCC). No regulatory licences were listed for Private Space Medical at the time of this entry. Before your first session, ask the practitioner directly for their professional registration number and the body with which they are registered, so you can verify it on that organisation's public directory. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
