If you are considering counselling, the typical first step is an initial consultation where the practitioner gathers background on your presenting concerns, personal history, and goals. From there, you and your counsellor will agree on a therapeutic approach and session cadence — whether weekly or fortnightly, in-person or online. It is worth confirming whether the counsellor holds a relevant qualification or registration, such as with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or the Alliance of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (APC), and whether sessions are covered under your employer's or insurer's mental health benefit. Cancellation policies and package commitments should also be clarified upfront.
To enquire about availability or book an initial consultation, contact Psaltcare directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.

Psaltcare's pricing is indicated as mid-range ($$), but specific per-session rates have not been published on this listing. In Singapore, counselling sessions typically run S$80–200 per 50-minute hour depending on the practitioner's qualifications and setting. Some practices offer sliding-scale fees or package rates for a committed block of sessions, which can reduce the per-session cost. Confirm the full fee structure — including whether an initial consultation carries a separate assessment charge, whether GST applies, and the cancellation or no-show policy — directly with Psaltcare before your first appointment. Most counselling practices in Singapore do not require a GP referral for self-referred clients, though a referral can be helpful if you intend to claim under an insurance policy or employer mental health benefit, as some schemes require a formal referral letter. At your first session, expect to complete an intake form covering your presenting concerns, relevant personal and medical history, and current support systems. If your concerns involve a diagnosed mental health condition, medication management, or risk factors such as self-harm, the counsellor may recommend a concurrent consultation with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. Clarify the practice's scope — counsellors handle adjustment difficulties, relationship issues, grief, and work stress, while more complex clinical conditions may benefit from a multidisciplinary approach.
Counselling in Singapore is not yet a statutorily regulated profession — there is no single government licensing body equivalent to the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) for physiotherapists. The two main voluntary professional bodies are the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and the Alliance of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (APC); membership signals adherence to a code of ethics and continuing professional development requirements. No regulatory licences are listed for Psaltcare on this directory at present. Before committing to sessions, ask directly about the counsellor's academic qualifications (a master's degree in counselling or psychology is the typical baseline), professional membership, supervision arrangement, and years of clinical experience. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant professional body's public register before treatment.
