About Safe Space
Safe Space is a counselling provider based at High Street Centre, 1 North Bridge Road, Singapore, listed on KakiList as a wellness service. The practice has not been ACRA-verified on this listing, and no regulatory licences are recorded at present. It holds a 4.2/5 rating across 21 Google reviews — a modest sample, so treat this as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range ($$) band; specific session fees were not provided.
Enquiring with Safe Space typically begins with an initial contact via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form. Prospective clients are encouraged to outline their presenting concern or goal — whether that is anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, or workplace stress — before the first appointment. It is worth clarifying whether the first session is an assessment consultation or a full therapeutic session, what the cancellation and rescheduling policy is, and whether sessions are available in person at High Street Centre, online, or both. Those seeking insurance reimbursement should confirm in advance whether the counsellor holds registration with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), as some insurers require this for claims.
To take the next step, contact Safe Space directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to check appointment availability, confirm the counsellor's credentials, and clarify session fees before booking.
Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
Every session is worth every cent and minute spent. It's easy to book and maintain my appointments, and chat with my therapist if I have any questions before the session or after the session. Thank you for such a great app and platform. It truly is a safe space for me to grow and evolve without any pressure. Thank you a million times!
Had 2 very disappointing and unprofessional service. In the first instance, I paid for a session with a counsellor in training. However, her profile was not updated and she was no longer with safe space anymore. In another instance with another therapist, I waited for an hour and she did not show up. Later I checked and was told that my therapist ‘missed the notification’. I hope safe space can look into their conduct of administrative matters better and be more professional in handling of client matters.
The therapist/ counsellor I had a session with was friendly and patient. She applied the right techniques. I did not expect that I would be able to achieve resolution in one hour but it happened! Wonderful!
I signed up for an online counselling session but my counsellor-in-training Shirlyn Lim asked three minutes (!!) before the session whether I could reschedule it. How's this professional?? Unfortunately, I was not able to reschedule it as the session had "started" by the time I received the message. I had no choice but to cancel the session. I was also not able to receive a refund. This is extremely poor service and communication on the part of the counsellor. I won't go back to this platform anymore.
Safe Space's short wait time to speak with a therapist really helps with reducing the lag time between needing help and getting help! Platform is intuitive. Therapists are professional and great to work with. I've been recommending Safe Space to my friends too :)

Safe Space is listed at a mid-range ($$) price point, but specific per-session fees were not provided on this listing. In Singapore, individual counselling sessions typically range from S$100–200 per hour at private practices, with initial assessment sessions sometimes priced differently. Some counsellors offer package rates for a block of sessions, which can reduce the per-session cost. Before booking, confirm the full fee, whether a separate first-consultation charge applies, the no-show and late-cancellation policy, and whether the fee is payable per session or in advance for a package. Ask whether GST is included in the quoted rate. See the full counselling cost guide for Singapore →
Most counselling practices in Singapore, including private providers, do not require a GP referral for a first appointment. However, Safe Space may conduct an intake assessment at the initial session to understand your presenting concerns, goals, and any relevant history before agreeing on a therapeutic approach. A GP referral can be helpful if you intend to claim under an integrated shield plan or employer insurance, as some policies require a referral from a registered medical practitioner. If your concerns involve a diagnosed mental health condition or you are currently on psychiatric medication, informing the counsellor in advance allows them to advise whether their scope of practice is appropriate or whether a referral to a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist would better serve your needs.
Counselling in Singapore is not statutorily regulated in the same way as physiotherapy or TCM — there is no single mandatory licence. The relevant voluntary credentialling bodies are the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), which accredits counsellors, and the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), which registers psychologists. Clinical psychologists may also be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). No regulatory licences are recorded for Safe Space on this KakiList listing. Before booking, ask the practice directly for the full name and credentials of the counsellor you will be seeing, and verify their SAC or SPS membership on the respective public register. This is particularly important if you are seeking insurance reimbursement or if the presenting issue involves a clinical diagnosis. Confirm the practitioner's licence number on the relevant board's public register before treatment.
