Families arranging meals for an elderly parent or relative should begin by clarifying the senior's dietary requirements — including any medical restrictions such as low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, or soft/texture-modified diets — as well as preferred cuisine and portion sizing. It is worth confirming the delivery schedule (daily, weekly, or ad hoc), delivery windows, whether meals are hot or chilled on arrival, and how packaging is handled for seniors with limited dexterity. Families should also check whether the service can accommodate changing needs over time, and how to manage account or delivery changes through their phone or online form contact channels.
To get started, contact Savoury Catering directly by phone or via the enquiry form to discuss the senior's nutritional needs, confirm delivery coverage to the specific address, and request a menu or sample pack before committing to a regular schedule. Ordered Tingkat meals for our parent and overall it was a pretty decent experience for 2 pax. The dishes were generally tasty, homely and not too oily, which suits seniors well. Portions were adequate and delivery was reliable. A good option if you’re looking for convenient, fuss-free home-style meals for elderly parents.
The portions are generous, we order for 2pax but can feed 3pax in my family. We especially love their soup. We love almost all their dishes. For the price of $279 incl of GST for 3 dishes & a soup, we find it reasonable & save us the trouble of traveling out to settle our dinner every night, it’s really very convenient for us. I will not hesitate to recommend it to my friends, if they are looking for a reasonable & reliable caterer. The fried batang fish (3pieces), tang Hoon fried with cabbage & carrot & herbal chicken soup - are our favourite dishes.
I have ordered the Savoury Tingkat for a month for 3 Pax for lunch. Sometimes shared between 4 people and sometimes 3. Some days, we still have a lot left over dishes for dinner. Sometimes, the quantity of certain dishes are plentiful. I can honestly say that the food is indeed fresh, especially if you are getting seafood like prawn and fish. I feel there are really no added msg and that is a plus point. Vegetables are also fresh. Everything is lightly salted or just right. At times we have a bonus of 2 fruits. Overall, it is much healthier than what we buy from outside and more economical and well balanced. I order lunch and get my delivery by 10am, which I LOVE so that I can have lunch early and get to work. My elderly parents have this good convenience of having a home cooked meal on time. It feels good overall to not have to check the time and rush out to buy food and prepare for everyone. Also, after decades of cooking for the family, my mom can finally retire and relax. The only unfortunate thing is that lunch orders does not allow metal tiffin and we have to go for plastic containers instead. Not good for health and also the environment. Will continue the subscription long term, thank you!
I’ve ordered a few tingkats and this is one of the best. Their soup is really delicious, and the food is very yummie too. I’m not a big fan of cucumber dish; but they can cook cucumber very well and I’m eating them too! Portions are generous too, would highly recommended to you if u are looking for healthy tingkat! Not too saltish as well, thank you!
We have tried the catering for 2 weeks and so far the elderly have no complaints about the taste and quality of the food. They were also kind enough to accommodate our special request for no spicy dishes. Delivery is usually punctual around 4-5pm, though there was one occasion when it arrived later at 7.10pm (It would be great if they could let us know in advance that the delivery is going to be late). Overall, quite happy with the service and food quality.

Savoury Catering is positioned in the mid-range ($$) bracket, but specific per-meal or package pricing is not publicly listed. When enquiring, confirm whether pricing is per meal, per day, or as a weekly or monthly package. Ask specifically about any delivery surcharge for your address, public holiday rates, and whether there are minimum order requirements. It is also worth clarifying what is included — for example, whether beverages, soups, or desserts are bundled — and whether portion sizes can be adjusted for seniors with smaller appetites. Savoury Catering is a meal delivery service rather than a live-in or visit-based care provider, so this distinction does not directly apply. However, families should confirm the daily delivery windows and whether the service can be coordinated around a caregiver's or helper's schedule at home. For seniors living alone, it is worth checking whether the delivery process includes a brief welfare check at the door, or whether contactless drop-off is the default. Families managing care from a distance should also confirm how missed deliveries or access issues are handled, and whether a nominated contact person can be registered on the account.
As a meal delivery service, Savoury Catering does not deploy caregivers — this question applies more directly to home nursing or personal care providers. That said, food safety credentials are the relevant standard here. No regulatory licences are currently listed for Savoury Catering on KakiList; families should ask directly whether the provider holds an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence and what hygiene grade has been awarded. Families should also confirm whether delivery staff are trained to handle fragile or mobility-limited recipients, and whether the company carries public liability insurance covering incidents during delivery. Confirm these details in writing before committing to a regular plan.
