When my wife and I first met Brendon and Nicholas, we immediately felt at ease. Unlike many other IDs we had spoken to, they were genuine, approachable, and truly listened to what we wanted. Even when our BTO was delayed, they kept in touch and patiently answered all our “new homeowner” questions, always with prompt replies and zero judgement. During planning, they personally brought us to shops like Hafary, Lucky Khoon, and Sol Luminar, guiding us on what would work practically for our lifestyle. When we mentioned wanting a work desk in the living room, they suggested flipping the entire layout since we were hacking down one room. It was such a creative idea that gave us a more spacious, practical home, something we would never have thought of ourselves. They were also very honest and often suggested cost-saving alternatives, even recommending Taobao for certain items so we wouldn’t overspend. When renovation began, some urgent family matters meant we had to step back, but we had full trust in them. They kept us updated at every stage and made thoughtful decisions on our behalf. One moment that really touched us was when they went down at 2am to help us move Taobao items into our flat. That kind of dedication is rare. Of course, like any renovation, there were minor hiccups, but they always addressed issues promptly and with practical solutions, making the whole journey far less stressful. Even after completion, they remained responsive and approachable, showing us that their care goes beyond just finishing the project. Looking back, engaging Brendon and Nicholas was one of the best decisions we made for our home. They are professional, trustworthy, and sincere more than just IDs, they became our friends we could truly rely on.
Disappointed and Drained Reno Journey We engaged SG Interior for our first home in Jan 2025 and chose Fion even though her portfolio was limited at that time. We wanted to give a young ID a chance, and everything seemed fine until the carpentry stage. The carpentry fabrication took longer than promised, which we were okay with. But when the installation happened on Thursday, we received zero updates. We only found out about multiple mistakes when we visited the house ourselves on Saturday. Fion only came down around 7pm after we requested a meet-up, and we had to review everything in the dark because the electricity hadn’t been up. She told us to just “ignore” the carpenter, which didn’t give us much confidence. This was a huge red flag cause carpentry is one of the most critical parts of reno because there’s no easy turning back once it’s up. How could our ID ghost us from Thursday until we, the homeowners, had to follow up on Saturday? And in her defense, she was on-site Before the carpentries were up and will check the progress on Saturday evening (which is 3 days later??); the homeowner simply arrived before she did. When we started getting frustrated with the declining service and quality, the tone suddenly shifted to, “It’s normal to have wrongly installed drawers, hinges, etc.” and that “setbacks are part of the process.” But these weren’t small hiccups; they were simply avoidable mistakes caused by poor supervision of the project and workmanship that was far from up to standard. Small hiccups are things like material delays, minor paint touch-ups, or simple adjustments, issues that are expected and easily fixed. But not following the drafted plans or having leaking pipes on the first day moved in aren’t “hiccups”; they’re clear signs of poor coordination and substandard workmanship. What made us feel even more neglected was that many updates came late at night. It’s hard to believe proper checks were done when everything was filmed in the dark. When we shared our concerns, Fion said that just because she didn’t update us during the day didn’t mean she wasn’t working on our project, but with ongoing issues, that explanation felt quite weak. We just expected clearer communication and proper follow-through, especially when things were already going wrong. On the day the electrician was scheduled to install the light fittings, I went down personally even without an appointment with Fion, as I no longer trusted the supervision and wanted to ensure nothing went wrong. What surprised me was hearing her joke with the electrician that, since I was present, she no longer needed to be there. To make matters worse, despite her walking through the kitchen with the electrician once again before installation, electrician was not aware that a corner fan was required and only realised this after I pointed it out right at their face. Overall, if you’re simply looking for a responsive ID, Fion definitely fits that; she replies promptly, even at midnight. But looking back, I should have chosen someone more experienced and tactful, someone who knows what to say (and what not to say) to clients, and who can manage a project without constant supervision. I’m not sure if the treatment we received was because our reno was “only” a 34k project, but the workmanship and quality were definitely not what we expected from a so-called premium ID firm in the market. It felt as though the firm only prioritises premium customers. It has now been nearly 8 months since we moved into our home. While most issues were eventually rectified and there has been repeated emphasis on the 5 years warranty, the reality is that no homeowner wants to keep dealing with recurring problems. We would much rather things be done properly the first time, saving time, cost, and emotional energy for everyone involved. Honestly, the experience has been painful, and both the process and final outcome continue to upset us. We still regret our decision.
Brennan was our main ID and assisting him was Stephanie. They were both prompt, professional, and organised throughout the entire process. He was easy to communicate with and paid good attention to details, keeping everything on schedule. We are really happy with the final outcome, and clear communication of our requirements helps ensure smooth execution. Overall, a very positive experience and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reliable ID.
We worked with Fion for our home renovation under a very tight timeline, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. As we were overseas during the entire process, we weren’t able to supervise the site personally and only met Fion a few times. Despite that, communication was smooth and efficient — she was responsive, responsible, and handled everything with great care. The renovation was completed on time and the quality of work was excellent, with only minor issues that were quickly and easily rectified. Fion took full ownership throughout the project and was always patient in answering all our questions, big or small. We really appreciate her professionalism and commitment, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy designer.
This was a pleasantly smooth renovation for us as first time home owners with the help of our ID Dickus. Met our ID through the Qanvast Event and immediately vibed with him. His explanation and ideas aligned with how my partner and I wanted it to be. We started our reno journey in Sept and our home was handed over to us in Dec, it could have been earlier but which reno doesn’t have some minor inconvenience. But with a 2.5 month timeline, we’re extremely satisfied with the result ! Thank you Dickus for being so attentive to our wants and needs throughout the past 3 months. Always giving us updates and very prompt replies ! You have made this reno journey a pleasant one 🫶🏻✨
